Which is a recent / suitable ROM and Radio upgrade for QTEK

ROM version 3.16.52 ENG
ROM Date 03/10/03
Radio version 3.19.01
Protocol version 32S54
My questions: -
For me, which is a suitable upgrade...

You may use any ROM Updgrade, you may even want to cook your own ROM, but please do not think of performing a radio stack upgrade if your present radio is working well and giving you a trouble free service.

Hi guys,
I 'm in same situation but with higher versions, and can hardly wait to get a new 2003 ROM.
I can't just play with my XDA as I use it all the time for work and it's pretty stable so far. I just also can't tell that the ROM is 'totally' separate from the RUU in WM2003.
So the question is: is there any one here who has gone through a 2003 upgrade for Qtek 1010 to tell us his thoughts after the upgrade ?
I read a lot about the stability of 4.00.16 ENG, but all been written was for O2 R4.21 or T-Mobile R6.xx. Did any one in this region (Mid East) with R 3.2x went into this upgrade ? and what is the current status ?

I tried upgrading to 4.00.11 ENG from the kitchen ... no matter how many trys it just restarts and gives the same error message "Can't open USB/com port ..." ...
Do I miss anything ??

Tried to cook the new ROM as .nb1 file and used Xdatools from the kitchen to flash my device .... same result :? :evil:
Is it possible that there is a ROM protection on my XDA ??? :shock:

Look at the IDIOTS GUIDE at:

and follow the instructions thoroughly one by one and you can't go wrong, it did work for me, I was in the same situation.

Samohile - Thanks. It is good advice to not mess with the radio if you can help it.
My only problem is that my device periodically shuts off. Then pressing the power button soft boots it. I cant tell for sure but it seems that this happens after an incoming or missed call. It seems that other friends using ROM 3.18.04 and Radio 3.25.01 (like our friend biso007 here) seem to have very stable systems.
I can try upgrading the ROM only and see what happens but the information at www.carrierdevices.com seems to imply that both ought to be upgraded at the same time. I notice it is an Australian site. Does that matter? Also, the version of the radio upgrade is a bit confusing, at least from its name. (Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe] ). I wonder what this RSUv1.15 translates into since the name of the exe file for the ROM is nicely descriptive of the version (3.18.04).
Any advice in this would be very welcome..

Well i am using WM2003 4.00.11 and its working fine for me no problem i cooked in the kitchen you just need to read arround this great forum for a whgile on topics such as upgrades and ROM to know exactly what you are dealing with and then you will able to upgrade smoothly.

I read lots and lots about upgrade lessons but none of them worked for me .... I got an advice to use SD card with bootloader as it's the only working way. Now I wonder why the EXE method was created!!
I see that u got the 4.00.11 working. Did u upgrade it using EXE or SD card. Any help would be so appreciated ... thnx

Well i used the EXE methode the file i cooked in the Kitchen but i didnt change the version i left as 3 at the bottom of the page it works fine i upgraded from 3.XX to 4.XX then i downgraded from 4.00.11 to 4.00.05 then upgraded again all using EXE format so far working great.
i will be honest with you i know about the SD methode very well but never tried it so u have to make more search on this issue.
If you need anything more plz message me anytime and i will be more then whilling to help you step by step...

Faisal sorry for very late reply.
I have flashed my Qtek (bought in Abu Dhabi) with several versions of roms cooked in kitchens (Jeff's and Stefans's), but I have finally settled with ATT release wm2003 Siemens SX56 upgrade. It comes with most of the bugs fixed (except multiple reset bug) and is quite stable. I almost never have to reset it. You can flash the ROM only by SD card method though. You can try it. It's always a good idea to flash using SD card method. USB method using ProgramA is not very safe. I guess the network in Pakistan is compatible with the one in the UAE, so you can safely use it, if you don't mess up with the Radio Stack. My Radio is 3.23.01 and I have no problems with that.

Softreset Everytime after Upgrading Qtek 1010 to WM 2003

I have sucessfuly Upgraded my Qtek 1010 with WM 2003 4.01.16 by Bootloader method Thanks to Biso007 for his help.But now when Qtek turns off after 3mins It does not switch on even after pressing Power Button i tied several times.Now i have to do Reset Everytime or uncheck the box for turning off the device.
Whats wrong what to do I miss calls now.
Can i reinstall the same ROM or any other?
Please help me to slove this issue

using the sd upgrade mode you can upgrade downgrade sidegrade to what ever rom you want older newer or the same .......

I still recommend using 4.01.00 ROM

i got mine from tmobile and pulled out the nbf file
if the latest from tmobile have a later rom then 4.01 then i used the beta

T-mobile MDA pro ROM flashed with Imate. Pls help

Hi i bought this new phone T-Mobile MDA PRO and for some reason the Imate Jas jar software shows, the guy whom i bought this phone said that the phone was unlocked and the rom flashed with Imate Jas jar.. here is my rom version :
ROm version : 1.12.38.wwe
rom date : 08/24/05
Radio version : 1.03.00
Protocol version : 42.36 p8
extrom version : 1.12.120 wwe
Now my question is should i install a T-mobile rom update or should i Update the rom with the Imate jasjar ??
Where can i find the latest Imate Jas jar version pls help

Well I would suggest that the first thing you do is ask yourself, why you are upgrading. What is broken now, or doesn't work as you would like. Then which ROM will fix this problem.
Basically I'm saying if it's working OK now for you, don't upgrade. If you bought it as a toy, or something to learn on then it doesn't matter. You can upgrade to what ever you think you might like. If on the other hand it is a tool then don't "fix" it if it's working OK for you now.

The problem what i see is when i play music files .. the music starts plays for 4-5 seconds and then stops for 2 seconds and then plays nonstop. it happens with all the music files and ringertones as well..
and i would also like to know if the ROM update would make my device a better one ? just assuming whats ur say.

Wizard my love, but with problems

I'v gpt a wizard (in fact qtek 9100) last two weeks. I'm new to xda/htc but extensivly used PPC for fun and work (developing) for last 3-4 years. I instaled my all beloved software games etc. I'm so happy. I think that connecting a gsm to the ppc is a great stuff.
But now problems:
It hangs quite often. I have :
IPL 1.01
SPL 1.06
GSM 01.01.10
OS 1.1.7.5
The problem is with the wakeup. It dose not whant to turn on and only way is reset (thanks god soft...)
The question to you guys is the following do u recomend me to upgrade rom (and to what version) or You think i should go exersise my warranty....

upgrade to the latest ROM with AKU2.

No it should not affect your warranty as it is a qtek rom.

MDA Compact 2 Upgrade Error (95%)

Hello,
I wanted to upgrade my MDA Compact 2 to AKU3.
I started the update tool, like described in the forum here. The progressbar
on my MDA screen appears and when 95% are reached the update tool give me the ERROR [302]: UPDATE ERROR.
The reset of my MDA gives me only the 3color Boot-Loader Screen with the following Numbers:
IPL 2.06.0001
SPL 3.08.0001
and RUU in the right top corner.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem, an downgrade to the old AKU2 can also not be done, because i get always the error about an wrong vendor ID.
I read a thread, to unlock CID, but this is not possible in Bootloader Mode, or?

I solved my problem!!
I installed the Radio ROM Upgrade:
ftp://[email protected]/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/Radio_ROMs/Prophet_G3_G4_RadioRom_v2.69.21.exe
and it works.
There is maybe at 95% the Radio ROM Upgrade, and this worked not with the AKU 3.3 Image.

No, it won't help you. It's the radio rom, so it will not fit your wizard. You can try to flash any radio rom for wizard or any splash.

I have the same error on my Charmer with the AKU3.3, downloaded from the German T-mobile HP. Now I want to solve the problem with your described Radio-Rom but it is not downlodable from ftp://[email protected]/Up...adio_ROMs/Prophet_G3_G4_RadioRom_v2.69.21.exe !! What can I do??
