I'm trying to fix the various system apps that appers scrambled using ozVga.
So, here is the first two: power and backlight
copy the file in the storage card, run them once (to register the certificate), then delete the final " .exe " and put them in the \windows folder.

The camera don't work with the .0409.mui method, you have to replace the original one.

Yes, resource editing, thanks to your signcode I can now resign the files.
I'd tried this before for the phone, but whitout the certificate it didn't work, and now I don't want to spoil your work
Hey, if you can fix it, fix it!
I'm working on something else this weekend that I'm very enthusiastic about so don't have much time, and if there's a non resident fix, I think it's a much better solution!
I'm not too proud to admire an elegant solution.

Will they prevent the system working if we switch back to QVGA mode? I.e. are these files permanent fixes for all circumstances or does the system only call them in VGA mode?

The system will work in QVGA, unfortunately for .exe file I can't make a .96.exe (resolution alternate resource) only a .0409.mui (language alternate resource), so it work only in VGA mode, when you switch back in QVGA you have to delete them.
Or you can setup ozvga to do that for you automately.

I had used resco explorer and it worked because this forces windows to rename an application and now have no problems. Use resco explorer.

You must delete substring of filename ...
Yes, I did delet the ".exe"....
but nothings work...
is it because I am using the traditional chinese rom and not the WEE?
by the way, when Ｉ run the OZVGA and my input panel icon is gone from my display....
can anyon e solve this?

.0409.mui is a substring for an alternate english resource, for running these apps on a different language you have to change the 0409 in the code for your country. Scan your \system folder and find what code you have to use.
You also have to rename trares0409.96.dll accordingly

I tried to place the file into windoows directory after change to my contry code.
but there is a same file in windows directory won't allow me to over write or change, because it is in use or write protected like power on today...

I'm having a strange problem with themes on Mobile 5.0 too. Seems the device only shows themes in the Today settings screen under certain circumstances. If I copy a tsk files over ActiveSync everything works file. When streaming the same file from a server to the client over an http connection and writing it to disk itse not recognized anymore. When I manually cut, move and paste the saved tsk file to a different place its then picked up. Its like the application that writes the original file has reduces security permissions and these are then passed onto the file but as soon as I manually move the file those permissions are reset to that of AUTH_USER(??) and its recognized as a valid theme file.
Anybody experienced anything alone these lines?

I created a CPF file and dropped it into the Herald and executed it. I received an System Notification entry in my Text messaging folder stating 'your device settings cannot be changed by Test.cpf'
Does anyone know whether this is because I do not have the OTA Enterprise prvileges or is ot just that I screwed up in the execution of the file or contents?
I thought in the file it suggests I only need manager access to execute these entries.
All comments are appreciated - I am not a hardcore developer so I have posted this with some trepidation but I need a little help here to get the example working.

I just want to ask all the experts here if it is possible to change the save path of the notes application on WM6.
In options of notes i can only change between sd-card or device, and device is set to "My Documents", but I would like to change this to "My Documents\Notes.
Does anyone know a registry tweak or anything else to modify the save path please ?

This is way better than the stupid Microsoft File Dialog because it allows you to load and save files wherever yoy want..

im wondering if it is possible to elevate ones priviledges to the point one can copy out an (administrator?) owned dll to a normal user sd card .. i ask as i had the need recently and had the problem of the dll showing up in an explorer search and not having the ability to copy after the fact .. I read in the MS dev pages that WM6 introduced new infosec details that prevented the same as WM5 but yet short of dumping a rom or unpacking a nbh file myself i have found no way of simply copyng a dll or equiv etc .. ideas ?
I added some priv escalation cab i found while searching but it did no good (for me)
