Upgrading MDA Compact Rom - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi, sorry about the question even though it may sound n00bish but i only just got my MDA compact so im very scared bout doing things to it. I dont like all the t-mobile customisation so I have downloaded this rom from
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/JAM_UK_11200_131_11210_ship.exe
Only thing is i dont know what to do with it now do i just open it up on my mda compact and it will install the imate rom and its done or what?
Thanks and once again sorry for the n00bish question.
(by the way is this rom ok for my mda compact?)

NemesisDE's post has some good instructions.
...and yes the ROM you specify is 'compatible'
Enjoy

T-mobile Vario (SIM unlocked) upgrade to i-mate ROM (orig)

Hi all.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I did a search and could not find any info on this.
I have a t-mobile vario (sim unlocked - using Lokiwiz02). Shop told it couldn't be done, but quite a few of you clever people had already done it, so I did too. All went well, it's now sim free!
However, I prefer the i-mate ROMs and have already got the original i-mate ROM installer ready to go.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, is it a straight forward procedure (regular way of upgrading a ROM), or is there anything specific I would have to do and what, if any, are the risks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Too many late nights!!
So sorry guys!! Wrong Forum!!
Have moved this to the Wizard forum

Ever heard the phrase...seek and ye shall find?
The places you need to be are Trinity Mobile 6: , Trinity upgrading etc. and racerx's excellent Trinityguides. There you will find out all you need to know - presented in simple English.
You will, however, have to read. This is good, as your understanding of what you are doing to your beloved Trinity will be solid - and once you've understood, you'll be away.
If, after reading, you are none the wiser, probably best to stick with what you've got.
Thankyou, i have been looking but its confusing without a decent tutorial. But you directed me so i shall study

3) Start any be happy
Once you have flashed your first ROM, be prepared to try all the others. Flashing is a wee bit addictive until you find just that perfect one. Personally I am still on the stock WM5 ROM, too much customisation and software installed to go through that again.
Thnx for the help from everyone, you wouldnt believe how much i have been searching on google n youtube etc.... surprisingly little about the subject untill i found this site.

Let me introduce you to your friend...
The Wingster: www.thewingster.com
You can get to the Wing ROM's there with ease! There's flashing instructions there too.
Here are your WM6.1 ROM choices: http://thewingster.com/wm61.aspx
Here are your WM6.5 ROM choices: http://thewingster.com/wm65.aspx
And you'll find flashing instructions on most of the ROM pages, if they are applicable to the simple method of flashing.
Tell me if you need more help.
hey the wingster just wanted to know if the link you left will work for htc herald if you can help id be very gratefull
The Herald and the Wing are one and the same, they just have different keyboard layouts in some versions.

So yes, as he just said, it WILL work for your phone. There's a fix for your keyboard after flashing somewhere on XDA. That's all that's different for you two.
one last stupid question
hey i have one last realy stupid question i have noticed that everything is for t mobile but i live in south afirica and i use Vodacom will that be a problem with the rom or is something gonna bug it all up
plz reply
No. The Herald and the Tmobile Wing are almost identical except for their keyboards. If you have a Herald, flash a herald ROM. If you flash a Wing ROM, then some keys won't be mapped correctly but everything else will work fine.
