Hi, I just upgraded mine to german o2 R2BA020...
The only problem is, there was an e-mail acct set up and i can't seem to delete it..
it's like o2 mail - [email protected] or something...
I clicked all the buttons but i just can't seem to find the option of deleting the account... anybody??
this is for the regular e-mail app that comes with the phone thank you!
If you can't find a solution, try the swedish firmware, works really well if you don't mind the widgets/apps added to it
Mayamo, funny you ask because I had to to do this this morning.. Open up the email app so that you can see that email account you want to delete. Then long press on the account name. You'll get an option to delete the account.

For those who have tried both: Which app is better, the stock email, or the Gmail app? All I care about is using it FOR Gmail. I've been using the Gmail app, but wondering if I'm missing out on some features.
It's the same thing. Downloading gmail from the market just updates your stock app. You can tell by going to uninstall it in the market; it will say "uninstall updates" which means you lose the updates but not the apk itself.
The email app is good got a 2nd email address. Use gmail for gmail, it's much better.

Can I assume you are paying the $20/yr for Yahoo's "Plus" service? If not, then that's probably your problem. Can't use POP with a free Yahoo account.
Yahoo has their own email app for android.

So I just got the droid x and I am trying to set up my work email on it. It is a pop3 account. I enter all of the information it asks me such as incoming and outgoing servers and the port numbers and when I click done it says that the account was set up successfully. However, when I go into the email account and try to retreive messages, it says that the user name or password is incorrect. I have triple checked all of the settings and they are correct. I have also tried it on my friends droid x and I get the same error. I am not rooted or anything so im just running stock. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its our own domain that we have through go daddy. I just downloaded the K-9 Mail app and it works fine. I would like to be able to just use the default mail app though.

Looks like yahoo mail and ymail was screwing up and not allowing logging in to check mail. anyone else have this issue?
Only issue I have had is that it does not always tell me I have an email. I have a few times been kicked out of it and then when I logged in on my PC had a message saying that my account may have been compromised. After changing the password I was able to get back in on my phone. After all that the app never seems to update and tell me I have an email. When it does I find I have about 10 of them. This is with no settings changed.
I can't log into mobile website but u can log into phone app email

If you are talking about the actual ymail app,I had nothing but trouble with it.I configured the stock HTC mail app for my yahoo account and it works flawlessly.
