Hi, I just upgraded mine to german o2 R2BA020...
The only problem is, there was an e-mail acct set up and i can't seem to delete it..
it's like o2 mail - [email protected] or something...
I clicked all the buttons but i just can't seem to find the option of deleting the account... anybody??
this is for the regular e-mail app that comes with the phone thank you!
If you can't find a solution, try the swedish firmware, works really well if you don't mind the widgets/apps added to it
Mayamo, funny you ask because I had to to do this this morning.. Open up the email app so that you can see that email account you want to delete. Then long press on the account name. You'll get an option to delete the account.

Forgive me if this has been done before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Basically, I have created a new email account in the "messaging" program on my O2 XDA Mini-S.
What I want to do, is remove this account. However, try as I might, I just can't find the option anywhere. I looked in the manual, I've looked around the web, so I thought I'd ask you guys if you know how.
I don't have any email programs on my PC, such as Outlook, if that's a problem?
Any help would be appreciated on this matter.
EDIT: I just worked out how to do it. So simple in the end, why don't they put stuff like that in the manual?
Anyway, I guess a mod or whatever can close this thread now.
ok so the answer is...
call me stupid but i still can't find the delete option... I setup a gmail account on imap in error and can't remove the account.

Open Messaging then Menu>Tools>Options>tap the gmail acount for few secs and it will give you the option to delete, and you're done.
Hope it helped.
thanks
Thanks! That did it.
I have to emails one is my school g mail the other my personal gmail. I used to have the school one forward messages to the other but that turned into a hassle. I was just wondering if there's anyway to easily switch from one email to the other. Like if there was a widget or something.
Thanks!

I guess you can use the gmail client for one account and configure the email client to get mails from other gmail account. I use both gmail(thru gmail client) and yahoo mail using the email client. Also I see options in email client to configure more than one account, but haven't tried it. I do not want a combined inbox for more than one account as it will be kinda messy. But you can explore that option too.
Settings - accounts and sync -- add account -- Google account

I know how to do this that isn't the problem. My problem is when I get an email I don't automatically which email I'm getting it too. I have to choose the account. I just wish there was a way to separate it right off the bat. Instead of having to go through settings-accounts-email 1/email 2.
Maybe its just wish full thinking.

Yeah, sorry but there's no way to do that. I think there was on 2.2 when I had a Nexus One but I can't remember. Or you could try Gmail Pop Up on the market.

I'll see what I can find then let you guys know.

I people disappoint me...
Google app for main account.
Exchange ActiveSync for the second google account.
Google "Google Sync"
Vibrant can manage multiple exchange accounts, so it will work even if you have another exchange account set up.
HTH!

Search the market for gmail unread count. Its a widget you can add to your desktop that looks like an icon for gmail and will show the number of emails you have unread for any and ever gmail account set up on your phone. Its very stable and quite customizeable. I have a diff color icon for each of my 3 accounts and it makes keeping track of unread mails and accessing the specific account I want very very easy.

Im not sure if this is what you want. But I also have two gmail accounts, and one quick way for me to go into the right Inbox, is I created a shortcut for each Inbox, using the Gmail Label shortcut, when you create the shortcut, it will ask you which account you would like to use. Then you can rename the shortcut for each inbox to whatever you want, then from the Home screen just click on whatever Inbox. I hope that helps.

Anyone have problems setting up a second Google Account? I've been trying for a few days and keep getting a "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" error. I've tried both on WiFi and 3G, in different locations( home, at work, out and about), and still can get my second account linked. I did some digging the settings and found the multiple sign in options, turned all that on, and am able to sign in to both account on the web, but still not on my phone.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Same issue. I was able to do this at one point but after JI6 bricking my phone and getting it back with ODIN I have never been able to add multiple accounts. Hopefully someone here has an answer.
Does anyone know how to set up a school account on gmail (my university uses the gmail interface but has its own log in portal). I cant seem to log in through gmail.com (on the phone and desktop browser)
For those who have tried both: Which app is better, the stock email, or the Gmail app? All I care about is using it FOR Gmail. I've been using the Gmail app, but wondering if I'm missing out on some features.
It's the same thing. Downloading gmail from the market just updates your stock app. You can tell by going to uninstall it in the market; it will say "uninstall updates" which means you lose the updates but not the apk itself.
The email app is good got a 2nd email address. Use gmail for gmail, it's much better.

Can I assume you are paying the $20/yr for Yahoo's "Plus" service? If not, then that's probably your problem. Can't use POP with a free Yahoo account.
Yahoo has their own email app for android.

Hello All,
I have the Atrix on GB 3.5 with added mod for Arabic language support.
I have recently noticed that the email titles in my Gmail's email list are truncated at a specific point and a phrase "Forgot Password?" is added after all titles.
The titles show correctly on the email view itself on the phone and is Ok on a PC everywhere.
Any thoughts or suggestions?!
Thanks in advanced ...

Wow ... Really ... there is not a soal to give a small comment or offer some help?!

I wish I could help, but the only advice I have is have you tried re-adding you account? You could also try k-9 Mail from the market, I love that email app
Hey ... thanks!
I will give that a try that.
Since actually that gmail is the main account it doesn't let remove and me re-add.

The stock tw email.apk would work with my gmail powered email address but cm7 needs manual server entry, which Gmail doesn't have...note this is not an actual gmail account it is just gmail powered...anyone know if I can use the tw email.apk on cm7?

I also have a "gmail powered" e-mail account (2 in fact). I recently discovered that you can use the Gmail app to access these accounts. In the app, just add your e-mail address and log in password as an account and you should be good to go! To further clarify, you basically go thru the process of adding a google account and instead put in you "gmail powered" info. Let me know if oyu need any more help setting it up! Good luck!

Thanks for the idea but I've tried it and no go, it's a school alumni address and I have to sign in from their site, if I try from gmail.com on a desktop it just transfers me there...maybe I'll just push the tw email.apk and try that

One of mine is also a school alumni address, much like yours. I can't sign in from gmail.com either. Open the gmail app in cm7 (you loaded the gapps right?) and hit menu=>accounts. Then, click the "add account" button on the bottom. Hit "next" then Already Have An Account? "Sign in" From there, enter the username and password for the account you have. For username, put the full email address including the .edu or whatever you have. Sign in... wait a bit... viola.
This works...
I hadn't had access to either of my .edu addresses on my phone until now.
Thanks!
