i have all these lock up problems, when i hard reseted and put in the corp code0506 that was great until i backed up my data which also screwed up as it couldnt load data bases anyway the dam thing loaded o2 active again, any idea's.

Right i need some help, big style.
Had me phone now for nearly a couple of months and it's been fine. Then today it all went wrong. Firstly the phone just did'nt work no signal or anything. Tried everything to fix but nothing seemed to work. So hard reset. Now the phone boots up and goes thru setup etc.. (but no 02 option??) gets to my today screen but when I choose anything i get a msg saying did i want to run unknown program etc.. choose yes/no. I have chosen all the combinations to get it to work but the phone sometimes freezes so i have to soft reset to get going but then I'm back to square one. I've downloaded the backup o2 rom but when i run it i get an error saying it cannot create a folder??? So at the moment i can use the phone sometimes but sometimes it freezes up 9/10 i cant sync with comp.
Before you ask I only have tomtom installed and afew themes, and the xda worked fine before hand.
Any ideas please would be a great help. If not I'll be straight on the phone to o2 to get a replacement.

Right getting really annoyed now with my phone :evil:
managed to get it working again after downloading the o2 rom and re-flashing. Since i started this thread i have re-flashed rom about 3 times!!!! My phone just stops working. No network signal or anything!!! All the problems started after i install wisbar, phones never been the same since. stoped using wisbar and started pocket plus. phone worked fine until i soft reset cus it frooze. when it restarted nothingworked. I'm just about to flash again for the 4th time. Only gonna install tomtom and eten dialer and afew games thats it. I'll install in basic mode but wont delete any o2 files as normally do. If it goes again after this it's going back to o2.

Well, simply send it back for warranty repair, what's the problem? These things happen, I'm used to that... had to bring my Nokia 6600 back 2 times during warranty year... :?
does it damaged the phone if your constantly re-flashing the rom?
Sorry to keep posting but is there an anti-virus software or something cus i think there must be something on my xda cus even after flashing the phones still not 100%

Keep in mind, by the way, that flashing your rom with any ROM other than one provided to you by your provider is grounds for voiding your warranty
yeah I know i just thought that may fix whatever problem there is. I think i've just got a dud mini s. Worked fine for a month but now it's gone crazy. I think re-flashing with the o2 rom 5 times and still no joy means the phone will go back.
I'll ring o2 first thing in the morning.

I'm starting to freak out a little - everything was fine, and then about an hour ago, I pulled my M600 out and tuned it on - to my surprise, it went though the boot process as if it had been soft reset.
Then when it got to the blue Windows Mobile screen, it seemed to be loading (with the 4 coloured circle) and then it pinged and stayed there.
I took the SD card out and tried again. Same thing. then I tried a hard reset. Same thing. This is when I started getting worried.
Has anyone else experienced this? My phone isn't on contract, so it's not covered by insurance. Is there any way I can get it repaired?
**Update** May be a dodgy battery. So there was no real need for a hard reset, and I've lost all my stuff. Ah well, I'm happy that my phone works.

I have seen this problem several times on my S200 and the only way out is to hard reset the device. That's why I always keep my backups updated as often as possible.
But even then, there are several things that do not restore, like contacts, appointments and sme today plugin settings.
Any ideas?
I've just had an Imate Jamin do this - the only difference bing that it doesn't get past the HTC splash screen so isn't getting as far as yours. Tried everything I can think of to no avail. It is now being sent back to Imate for repair.
In your case you might be able to try reflashing the device from an SD card. I could still get the Jamin into bootloader, yours might be the same. However for me as it is only a month old it is still covered by warranty.
hi all i got a vario 1 yesterday and ahve no idae what they can do as i got it from my partner who liked it but couldnt use it hence why i now have 2 phones. anyway as its on t-mobile i undersatn how to get it unlocked with lokiwiz etc but can i get rid of the dreadfull t mobile stuff and change it all to o2 like on the xda or is that not possible .
Well, the T-Mobile stuff, or customizations, are stored mostly (visible to users) are in the splash screen and the EXT-ROM. The cleanest way of doing it is to flash a new ROM to it, which I won't recommend unless you really know what you are doing. This would give you a very clean O2 looks of it.
Another way, probably the simplest, is just avoid installing the EXT-ROM at all. To do this, you will need to hardreset your phone (Clear Storage - wiping everything and back into factory settings). And upon the 1st boot up, after the security configuration (e.g. just after the PIN select screen), soft reset your phone (poke the reset), which will avoid installing stuff from the EXT-ROM. Now you will have a clean phone (no customizations), except for the dreaded 1st splash screen for every soft reset, which I can live with.
If you want O2 looks, you can get those stuff from O2's EXT ROM (however you get these) and install each of the CAB file manually. Other than the software from O2, the looks of O2 should be fairly easy to achieve.
how do i do a hard reset as i said only had a chance to even look at the phone today . dont even no if its any good lol. and im guessing the soft reset is on the back behind the cover near camera lense.
also does the front cover come off with ease cos it could do with a lick of paint.
It will be difficult for me to give you the details when you dont even have the phone.
You can get the hardreset sequence at the Wizard Wiki (on top of this screen, XDA-Wiki), go to the Wizard section, and look/search (e.g. using your web browser) for 'hard reset'. At your phone, Start-Settings-System-ClearStorge will do the job too.
Soft reset 'hole' is on the side. Take time to read the manual.
good idea lol . got the phone here now thing is were we got it from i never got a usb cable in the box so got to buy one before i can go putting things on etc thanks for your help much appreciated. oh yeah will i still be able to surf the net etc when its got an o2 sim payg
you will need to get the GPRS/Internet settings for O2. Do a google on the settings. You can try HTC website, they ought to have some CAB for it. Do a search on this forum.

OK, so for the second time in a week my X10 has no data connection at all. NONE! Last week I was on the phone with Rogers Tech and went through all the blah, blah, blah of trying; soft reset, hard reset, checking VPN settings etc etc... Nothing worked so I had to do a factory reset which as you know is a major PINA! Had to reinstall all my apps (thank god for MBUP) and of course set up everything else all over again.
Got up today with full charge, performed soft reset, as others have suggested to try and extend battery life and when I turned it back on....no data. Now tech is saying to try my sim in another device to ensure there is no problem there, and if there isnt they will send me another phone. Well thats all fine and dandy except I just put on my ZAGG sheild so of course ill have to buy another one which means im out $25.

I feel that I have the worst luck with cell phones imaginable. This is my 8th phone inside a year. Believe it! So frustrated.
hmmm no one else experiencing any similiar problems?? I got a new sim card and Ive just done another factory reset, got data back, restored all my apps, soft reset = no data again.
Is it possible that one of the apps I have is messing with the network? Rogers is sending me a new phone either way. I cant believe my luck. Very frustrating.
tried another reset = data on. did not install advanced task killer, or ultimate defender and it still works fine. Power off and on again = no data???

I'd try installing the apps slowly.. one thing at a time.. and also with any customisation you might make to settings.. see what point causes you the problem.. I've not heard of anyone else having this problem.. The other thing..could it be your micro SD card? have you tried reformatting that? Not seen anyone else say that they have these problems.
I would say your best bet is to return the phone since rogers is covering it. If your getting no data, then that's clearly a problem. And I'm pretty sure you can just peel off the zaag shield from your phone. Start with a corner an just keep pulling, it doesn't rip so your good there. And when your new phone comes.. just put the same shield on again (assuming you still have your spray solution for it).
I had put a pattern lock on my HTC HD2 but my phone went dead and after I put it in charge and turned it on the phone won't accept the right password like it doesn't recognize it ... so now im locked outta my phone . I know how to do a factory reset , but i dont wanna erase everything ..
I heard a whole bunch of stuffs and people everywhere be saying that they haven't heard any other way then the master reset to unlock the phone so I was wondering is there any other way I can unlock the phone without having to do a master reset cause I haven't backing up my datas on the phone yet and since it's locked now it doen't even allow me now to do any kind of synchronization on my pc. So since yall are the experts on that matter please help me cause I'm afraid of losing all my informations on the phone and it has been about two weeks now since I put the phone on a corner somewhere unuseful and waiting for an answer.

Unfortunately, there is no way out other than a reset. Sucks to hear I know. However, yank the SD card out first, at least you wont lose anything that's on that.
Going forward, you can use the built in Microsoft MyPhone to sync backups to your live account. Or any other number of backup software that's out there. You can also set your phone and video to save to the SD card.

Unfortunately that's one of the bugs, that the lock screen will no longer function correctly, you won't be able to get in, ever, sorry
i think i know why it happens, at least for me...
seems whenever i install certain cabs, then uninstall them, this happens. most recently has been a swype cab i found off here, was the latest version for t-mobile hd2s. it installed fine and worked fine, but when i removed it, it caused the issue. i reformatted and only installed that cab, setup a pin, rebooted, worked, uninstalled the swype cab, rebooted, broke-wouldn't take the pin.
so maybe it has something to do with using non stock roms and using different kinds of cabs or something...
