Upgrade rom error Can not open a COM/USB port. Please help ?

1 - 4.01.16 ENG (2850 kB available) download
2 - run to rom.exe
3 - rom.exe step 3 - device information
4 - My device Rom ver 3,20 Model PW10A1 Lang English
Upgraded version 3,16
5 - Step 4 Upgrading rom image
6 - wait and device auto restart
7 - device :GSM finding
8 - pc error msg : Can not open a COM/USB port. Please use device manager on PC to make sure that the COM/USB port is available and working properly.
9 - OK and rom upgrade program close.
why error msg?

is there anyway to install orange ROM in O2 xda2

i have o2 xda2, and my sim card is orange.
i'm trying to install the upgrade programme for Orange M1000 with my xda2 but it sayes : ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR
the rom image that you are trying to use is not designed to work
with your pocket pc. please cheke the vender website and download the correct rom udate.
so is there anyway i can install the software of orange with an o2 xda2 or not? please help me :'( :roll: :roll:

HELP Can't Upgrade Radio ROM 1.04

I Can't Upgrade the Radio ROM 1.04 .
I GOT ROM at :

Upgrade Status:
step 1 is OK (radio)
Step 2 is OK (EXT):
Step 3 to 8 % PC show : Error 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR
WHY???
i run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe many Time.
result is same error at 8% Error 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR
even i change the PC.
XDA stop at 8%(can't continue)
should i STOP MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe at 8% Error OR keep MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe runing at 8% and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again?
but result is same ,stop at 8%
MY XDA IIi(dopod699) Before Upgrade
ROM version: 1.11.06CHT
Radio version: 1.03.00
ExtROM version: 1.11
Finally,i take my XDA IIi to HTC Using hardware put Rom back.
XDA IIi back and good.
but i curious about why I Can't Upgrade to radio 1.04.
So i try it again.
and "Step 3 to 8 % PC show : Error 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR" again!!! :evil:

Can i write NK.NBF(use ntrw.exe ) to SD Card ??
and Use SD Card Restore the XDA Rom??

I KNOW THIS WAY CAN'T WORK!!
BECAUSE nbf is different FROM nb1(CE ROM)
But, who have rom tool(like xdatool for Alpine) to convert nbf to nb1 ??
So i can write NK.NB1(use ntrw.exe ) to SD Card.
and Use SD Card Restore the XDA Rom??
PLS tell ME!!

my friend in HTC Say:FLASH chip maybe defective in MY XDAIIi
So i must Repair My XDAIIi

Which Windows have you got?
I had a simillar problem with upgrading XDA IIs on Windows XP, it didn't work until I installed SP2 version, after that, upgraded without problems.

my PC OS is win xp sp2 AND i try Upgrade on 3 different PC.
1: windows 2000 server
2: win XP sp2 compaq notebook
3:win XP sp2 IBM notebook
ALL PC upgrade XDAIIi Rom fail at CE Rom 8%.

RUU Update Utility Error 200. Help. Thank you

I have a HTC Cingular 8525 with WM6.1, I was doing an upgrade to WM6.5 and I do not want to display the PPC WM6.5 and not acerita the installation of another ROM. Anybody know how to sde can insert another ROM, but would have tried the following warning appears:
(200) ERROR: INVALID UPDATE TOOL
Please get newer update utility.

hello every one
after using android for months and no stable version yet , and i need a stereo headset
am trying to re-install wm6.5 and i am using sspl
but the mobile restart at 1% and the pc gives the error wrong vendor id
Does any of u face this issu ? any solution ?
the pc running windows 7 64 bit is that has any realation to the error , becaous i remmeber that i installed shipped rom in my old laptop and it was fine "but that was befor starting install android "

There are many ROMs for this HTC HD Mini,
So You should try the Right one made for your phone, simply contact HTC support, and give them your phone's ID code, written in your box or in your phone. and they will give you the right WM6.5 ROM.
