I'm currently using the Qtek 1.11 ROM with big storage. The ROM is stable and never experience any problems. I usually want my JAM to have the latest ROM. But is it worth the hassle? Any real improvements? I know this question has been asked a couple of times, but I haven't seen any real specific answers.
I updated, haven't noticed any real improvements... to be honest, wasn't worth the hassle of reinstalling everything... but I DO like to have the latest version of stuff.
Thanks for your reply. I'll wait for WM 5.0 then ... he he !! ;-)
I always update whenever I can, but I have had a lot of problems lately, running 1.12. It could be a coincidence, but since I switched back to 1.11, my S100 doesn't have the weird problems anymore.

Hi, I had the same problem witn 1.12 as well. It doesn't seem to be stable. It's slow and hangs a lot. Not that I am with ROM 1.11, it is MUCH better ... no more weird problems.
I have many problems with 1.12 I will take it off

OK...Im very excited and impressed. I would just like to first say "thanks" to everyone who is working hard on the ROM versions.
I flashed my T-mobile (after upgrading the radio to AT&T) to 2003 version 4.001
I now see with the kitchen util that there is 4.005 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? Other than the software in ROM what does this give me more?
BTW the speed difference in my Radio upgrade and/or 2003 is incredible.
THANKS!
Very minor but it seems people with the .05 rom have less issues overall. Little to any SD card erasing being a good improvement.

Hey All,
Ive not used my i-mate JAM in a while, and now ive come back to it id like to make sure ive got the latest rom etc. Could anyone tell me what version it is, and where to obtain it (I think theres a version for download on the clubimate site, but theres usually a later version floating around here).
Thanks!
Check out the other threads. There is a 1.13 ROM WWE from T-mobile NL. I just upgraded mine the other day but don't see any major differences with 1.12. So far my unit hasn't crashed yet.
AFAIK there still isn't a stable ROM for the Magician.
They all have problems reconnecting to GPRS after a phone call or Active Sync connection. The only way to fix it is to manually remove the CallerID application AND install an older version of the same program.
Hi
Has anyone installed this version of the ROM available here http://www.iris-global.com/t_mobile_download/download_manager_mda_vario.html
what does it fix cosmetic or software issues ??? 802.11g maybe???
Would be interested to know before i load it up..
Baz
Why is it on such a weird site? Iris-global?
I'm downloading it to check if it's save, but I'm having second thoughts about trying it. Dunno wanna f*ck up my wizard.
there is nothing wrong, its the official t-mobile download site!
jim
just completed the update, no noticable differences except it is damn fast!!!! Would be interested to know what the official differences are though.
It's just the version that shipped with the UK devices.

Same experience, no noticable difference but it's alot faster then the dutch shiped ROM. And much more stable too.
I'm liking it so far.
Edit: Found a new program called streaming video, not 100% sure if i had this on my Vario when I bought it. :?

It is on mine, Rom dated 09/29/05.
If I can find links to this new rom from the official uk tmobile homepage then I will be installing it today.
Can anyone say if the 802.11G problem (or lack of support) is addressed in this update?
Which rom would you people recommend - this T-Mobile ROM or the I-Mate K-Jam Rom? any opinions?
Hmm I'm still not convinced this is an OK download, can anyone walk me through getting to the site from http://www.t-mobile.com/ or http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/

Looks legit to me
Although the rom version is updated to 1.6.2.4. (WWE), the rom date is from 11/15/05.
But it's working like a charm.

It's entirely up to you. If you're current Rom is working well, upgrading isn't really necesarry. I was having alot of problems (constant lockups, slow, etc) with the dutch Rom I got when I bought it. Thats why I removed the CID lock to install an alternative Rom.
So far there arent any Roms out with major updates for increased hardware performance, these should come out late jan/begin feb and I read T-Mobile won't bring one out till late march.
Been trying the WWE T-Mobile rom since last night, and it's still working great. Haven't had time to install my applications yet, but it's allready alot faster and more stable then the Q-Tek (Dutch and WWE), i-mate and O2 Rom's i've tried.

thanx for the reply. so is the rom that i've downloaded newer than the one that i hvae. Beacuse a few posts above it says that the Rom is the same as the ones in UK Vario's. So just wanted to make sure i wasnt updating my vario with the same Rom as i downloaded. if that makes sense.

you will need to soft reset your device. To install this ROM on your device you will need to use the lokiwiz program, then you can install the file to your phone.
Hope that helps
Jim
Is mine even newer?
I wonder if going back to the TMO version would help any? My QTEK came with this:
ROM 1.6.7.1 WWE
ROM Date: 11/28/05
Radio Version: 01.13.0
Protocol 4.6.13.24
ExtROM: 1.6.7.101
It seems a bit poky, and battery life seems horrible
Hi all,
I currently have the HTC Tytn with the original ROM on it. I'm on Cingular's network, and am having the problem where the call either gets dropped completely or temporarily when the phone tries to "hand off" 3G to 2G. Are any of the radio-only upgrades that are on the ftp supposed to address this issue? I'm not looking to change the ROM. I'm currently on radio verion 1.03
Thanks in advance!
SP
I have a TyTn on Cingular as well. I upgraded to 1.20 radio ROM and haven't experienced any problems you're having moving to/from 3G areas.
Hi sf,
Thanks for the reply... are you also still on the original Tytn ROM as well? (for everything else but the radio...)
yes, i'm on the original HTC ROM, just upgraded the radio.
The best combination is the original HTC ROM + 1.16 RadioROM from what I have heard around ..
Great, thanks a ton guys. I'll give it a whirl.

I'm having much better battery performance with the HTC ROM and the 1.20 radio than I did with the 1.16 radio.
Goesto11, did you have any installation problems during or after the install with the 1.20 radio? I read a couple other posts where some additional tweaks needed to be made afterwards, but I'm thinking now that that was with the Cingular ROM.
Thanks,
SP
1.20 Radio was actually from the latest iMate ROM from what I remember .. might want to verify ..
latest Cingular RadioROM was 1.16 ..
Thanks GJ.

Nope, no installation problems at all (follow the directions and you should be fine).

I am wondering the same thing. I upgraded, but I haven't driven through any of the troubled areas yet. I guess we'll see on the drive home.
I'll install it today and report on it asap. A particular area that I go through on the way home from work attempts the hand off a good 80% of the time.
Oh yeah, one more (stupid) question...
If I install the 1.20 radio, then later end up doing a hard reset... after the hard-reset, will I end up with the original HTC radio, or the updated one?
Good question .. You will then always have an updated RadioROM .. even after a hard reset
Ok cool, thanks. I'm glad it was a relatively not-too-stupid question

Yeah, I did this yesterday. Your updated Radio ROM sticks with the device.
But what about installing an entirely new ROM; this overwrites the radio ROM right?

Yes, this is correct. A "normal/standard" ROM update will overwrite the System ROM, the Extended ROM, and the Radio ROM.
I can't seem to dowload a good file to unzip. It says "not a valid pocketpc app".
The ROM updates need to be run from a WinXP PC with an ActiveSync/USB connection to the Hermes...
and remember, Flashing can be a dangerous business, even if you know what you're doing... use at your own risk!
Hello,
i want to upgrade to
PDAMobiz_Prophet_WM5AKU3.2_v3231
Prophet_WM5AKU3.2_v3221_lvsw_edition
but after upgrading it always freezes at Splash Screen. Then i tried the following:
Dopod818ProRom_SPL 2.xx.0001_stopatbootloaderfix
but still same problem.
I have IPL 2.15.0001, SPL 2.20.0001.
Where is the problem?
You already did a hardreset after installing? And did you use the version which is good for a G4 so you didn't install a G3 rom on a G4?
Never had this happening myself, although I've read on a few occasions that when people tried to install it again it started to work although I'm not sure this could make things worse.
Can you still get into the bootloader? Then you could try and install a more 'normal' rom again to get your device working again and then try to install the AKU 3.2 version again.
Although I'm not 100% what rom you should be using then, I think the latest roms with the new aku in it use the latest qtek rom which can be found at the upgrading part of the forums.
Hopefully someone around here had the same problem and can enlighten you how to get around it
Oh and perhaps a better place for this topic would have been the upgrading part of the forums?
thank you. its working again. the pdamobiz and the jester versions work. pdamobiz was unstable. jester is stable but only aku 2.2...
whats the best rom for xda neo G4?
