Playback of .ASF files with G.726 audio codec - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I have a Panasonic DMR-E100H DVD & hard disk recorder that also records onto SD card. The output is an ASF video file format with G726 mono audio codec. My XDAII will play the video via Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC but there is no built in G726 decoder, so there is no sound produced.
Is anyone aware of a plug in that can be downloaded or installed to help WMP for Pocket PC play G726 encoded files or has anyone developed software that will play .ASF files with G.726 audio codec? I have searched Handango and not found any application that will support this.
Alternatively, as a last resort, are there any software applications that will translate ASF/G726 files into other playable formats?

File Association Messed Up - Anybody help?

I downloaded Pocket Divx, the media player which had such good reviews, and found that it refuses to play my audio (If anybody can help with that, it would also be appreciated). So I uninstalled it, and then realized that it hadn't restored my file association to what it was (Media Player 9 Series) and I can't find an option on WMP to set file association.
Can anybody help?
1. Power Tweak.
2. Experienced problems with playing both audio and video with DivX. I use NoteM to record and play mp3 and BetaPlayer to play video.
And here's NoteM...

i download the mpeg4 file that xda2 made into pc, but it can not plackback.
i have install quicktime 6 and some divx, xvid codec, but it did not work.
can anyone tell me how to plack correctly in pc?

You can use avi (MJPEG codec) on XDAI, but you will get much bigger files and you need a pc codec too

Panasonic .ASF MPEG-4 video files with G.726 audio codec

I have asked this question before but the problem was not solved.
I own a Panasonic DMR-E100H DVD & hard disk recorder that also records onto SD card. The output is an ASF MPEG4 video file format with G726 mono audio codec. My XDAIIi will play the video via Windows Media Player 10 for Pocket PC but there is no sound produced, so I assume there is no built in G726 decoder in WMP10 for PocketPC.

The only way I have managed to get to watch the files on my XDAIIi is by using Windows Media Converter to convert the .ASF file into a .WMV file with a playable audio codec. This process takes hours for a full length movie so it defeats the purpose of being able to use my Panasonic HDD recorder to record TV programmes to watch on the train etc.
Please can someone help or share their own experiences with Panasonic home video SD recording and playback on XDA software.
To help things along I have attached a short video clip in .ASF format as recorded on my Panasonic DMR-E100H this morning. Please try playing it to see if it plays on your XDA and let me know how your device is configured. Mine is a standard O2 XDAIIi with WMP10 for Pocket PC.

mp4 files from v-mate - Windows Media 10 and TCMP AAC issue

I have just bought a v-mate from Scandisk.
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(2171)-SDVM1-A-SanDisk_VMate_Video_Memory_Card_Recorder_.aspx
This device creates mp4 files from TV (etc) input on to an SD disk which in theory can be played directly on any mp4 player.
However, having created the files tonight I can't get them to play properly on either Windows Media 10 for PC Mobile or TCPMP on my Universal.
If I open with Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Pocket PC. It just plays the audio and not the video.
If I try and open it with TCPMP (0.72RC1) I get the following error message:
"Player: MPEG4 AAC Audio decoder not included! It was removed from the package because of intellectual property considerations". If I get rid of this message and tap 'play' it then plays the video file such that the video is fine but there is no sound.
It plays other MP4 files fine (eg ones I have made with the camera itself).
Clearly the file has audio and video information, but neither WMP 10 for mobile or TCPMP can play both. I suspect this is not a v-mate issue but rather something about WMP 10 or TCPMP.
Any suggestions guys? I have looked on the forums but can't see anything on this.
just install plugins (will install the right codecs in thecoreplayer)
i play mp4 psp movies with them on my universal (works great )
Result!
Cheers Mate, worked first time - I am sure it's all obvious to you and other experienced users, but this has sorted me out splendidly.
I had the same issue with TCPMP not playing the MP4 files, got the same message saying the decoder was removed from the application. Loaded the two CAB files that were posted but still get the same message. Do I have to change anything in TCPMP to use the plugins for MP4 files?

Which version of TCPMP do you use?
Try de-installing and installing.
Or even better
Try "Coreplayer" (this is the newest from tcpmp)
but sadly enough not free
(with a little search you can find reg/fix)

Windows Media Player (MP4) Converter

Hi
Are there someone recommend softwares for converting MPEG video file into MP4 that can play in Athena WMP 10?
I tried ImTOO converter but my Athena says it doesn't support that file. I have old MP4 files that are able to play in WMP 10.
Thanks
Felcus
install TCPMP and the codec pack then you will be able to play any MP4's !
where to download?
google is your friend ! start with just TCPMP and if that does not work add the codec pack, the codec pack can be a little harder to find so I will up it for you.
Video recorded on HTC touch cannot view on Windows Media PLayer
HI,
can anyone help? I recorded some movie on HTC Touch and when i copied the file to my PC, I can view it on Windows Media Player 11. How can i solve this?
Do you mean you can't view it?
What type of file is it? MP4, 3gp, avi?
Id recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ on the PC for viewing most video files. Its free, lightweight and just works.

I dont know why you did not start your own thread on this but try installing something that can play 3gp files like quicktime
Windows Media Player supports only certain type of Codec. To make WMP support MP4 format, you should install filters for MP4 format and its associated codecs. After you installing these filters, all players that use DirectShow technology, include WMP, will support MP4 format.
Install the following codecs to have a try.
Elecard MPEG-4 Codec Pack
If you can't install or still can't play MP4 in WMP, converting your MP4 to WMP natively supported WMV or AVI format with Faasoft Video Converter is the best choise.
