Hi All,
With Pocket PC cabs, i can use Win CE CAB Manager to export cab files to a .inf and export the contents of the cab.
Does anyone know how to do this with a smartphone cab file ?
Cheers!

Hi Guys
Can anyone help me in deploying j2me application into my brand new imate KJAM. I tried out with jar and jad files but of no use can anyone suggest me which files has to be installed to PDA of windows mobile 5.0 Operating system.
What are prc files and is cab files related to J2ME pls let me know this
Thanq

Hello Vijay,
K JAM is very well equipped with J2ME...however, it will run Universal type of jar and jad files...if u are trying to put Nokoa series40/60 files then it won't run as for the resolution.
CAB files are executbles for PPC for all OS versions and are not J2ME ones.
has anybody got avvenu working on their wm5 universal? it will not install via the msi file and will not run after i install from the cab file
hi guys..
seems like a n00b question..i know
but i downloaded some cool apps from handango which are made for Xperia..but i was unable to install them.
do i need to use Activesync for such files?...and if yes..i also tried to install activesync 4.5 but it says 'not for Vista'
any tips?
exe files can be
1. pda exe's which is not install files but the program itself
which you yourself have to copy to where ever you want it
and make a shortcut in programs yourself
2. windows exe's which use activesync on xp and Windows Mobile Device Center on vista
to copy the cabs to the pda and auto install them
in many cases those exe files are self-extracting zip files and one can just rename them zip and copy out the cab files one needs typically the arm one
thanks..i installed Windows Mobile Device center on my vista..connected X1 via USB and done!
I'm trying to install Advanced config tool from here:
touchexperience dot com
on my HTC Pure. It installs fine but when I run it there is an error. Do I need to install the .NET compact framework 3.5 to run it? IF so, do I just download .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable from microsoft and run that on my phone?
Any help is appreciated...I mainly want this to disable the annoying txt sent notification.
Don't install it in the card:

The .NET? you're saying install that on device? Is that would I need to do to get advanced config to work?
Yes. Install it in the device's memory.
OK, Thanks....do I run that through activesync or actually through the phone. I'm not used to exe files on my phone...usually see cabs.
Through phone. If you extract the zip file, you will get a cab.
