I have a problem with my XDA II. It only started 2 days ago. I pressed the power button to turn it on but it wouldn't come back on. No flashing LED either. I had to take the battery out and replace it for it to come back on.
It then happened a 2nd time and the only thing that was common about the 2 times that it happened was that both times I managed to turn it back on, there was an unread SMS waiting for me.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
I tested the problem yesterday morning by turning it off and getting my girlfriend to SMS me and it was fine. But then same thibg happened in the afternoon. Only this time, everything turned off but the the red 'you have an SMS' LED was flashing. Again, had to take the battery out.
Last program I installed was MS Voice Command. But that was 2 weeks ago and has been working fine since. And it's hard to search for these kinds of symptoms in google.
well guess it could be an issue with the radiostack but it's hard to say when you dont state your rom versions
I entered them in my profile when I registered.

Diary of Events:
Sunday: Got the XDA II in the evening, charged it up overnight while setting the timer to turn off charger exactly 8 hours for a full charge(as described in the manual)
Monday: Full charge. Played with everything possible with it. GPRS, e-mail, Icq, Msn, camera, video, phone, sms, mp3. Installed Omega Battery pack 2003 latest version, went to Microsoft Mobile webby, downloaded and installed some powertoys from there.
Tuesday: Battery life is great. Still hovering at 70% +. Backlight set to minimum. Still used it for phone/pda, some photos, icq. Msn on all the way unless i'm home.
Wednesday: Charged it in the morning, battery is at 50% +. Curious my girlfriend did not sms me. used my home phone to call her, she said she did. I tried sms'ing myself. Did not receive. Tried calling my own handphone number from my home phone. Cannot get through. Not even the voice that says "user cannot be reached'. It hangs up.
12pm Noon: Decided to do my 1st reset. O2 startup screen. 10 MINUTES later, still O2 startup screen Left it there while i ate my lunch.
1.30pm noon: Decided to do a hard reset. Read manual, press and hold power button, press reset button with stylus. Did exactly as told, Unit reset, remains there for another half and hour!!!! Pissed!!! Sent it in for servicing after less then 2 days of usage!!!
Anyone else having such problems?
Furthermore, someone quote "The short-life-span of the battery in the XDA2, this is due to the power managment chip that is non-functional in the XDA2, It was said that the chip was there, but it just did not work. The work around is the chip replacement and is not done by any ROM update. Presume they only half-solve the problem as they still face the life-span issue."
Anyone care to comment how true is that?
Hi there,
I made the same experience with the T-Mobile MDAII, only it took about 10 days ;-) When it chrashed I tried to re-flash the ROM which would not work either. Then I tried to flash the radio stack which did work. With a cold reboot I could reanimate the MDA.
Today it was "hanging up" again. I had my desk phone diverted to the mobile phone and what a quiet day it was, until I found out that I wasn't reachable at all. This time a warm restart worked. Next time it happens I will return the MDA.
cheers!
Hi guys,
I have the o2 XDA Neo for a week now, thanx to the forum I got the wireless working too, so everything is great. I do, however, have another strange little "problem", although I'm not entirely sure if it is a problem.
On the first day, at one moment, I heard the Neo beep, as if it had received a short message, and when I went to the phone, the LED was blinking orange. However, when I turned on the screen, there was no new message, nor there was a missed call, missed alarm, appointment or anything like this, just nothing. I later talked to the person that I thought would have sent me a message, and he confirmed that he did send a sms, but I never got it.. Not only it wasn't on the today screen, it was not to be found in the message folders too..
Today, I had my phone with me, on vibration, and Ï didn't feel it ringing, however at some point I checked it to see my battery status (it was ok, around 40%), and I saw the LED blinking orange again. There was again no message, no missed call or anything. The only calendar event was a birthday, for which I had received a reminder the previous day around 23:00. Also the strange thing was, no matter what I did, the LED kept blinking orange, only after a soft reset it returned to the green standby blinking...
Has anyone else experienced this? What do you think could be the cause?

This is quite annoying. Starting some time last night, I have been having a hell of a time making any kind of call.
If I make a call out, I hit send, it sits for 3 or 4 seconds, then says call ended. I called my own phone and it rang 2 times and went to voicemail.
Throughout this time I've had no problem receiving texts (not sure about sending them).
Anyone ever have this problem? I did a hard reset of it earlier today and added the touch-it 2.3 rom, but that hasn't changed anything.
Hmm. I hard reset a few times, I flashed back to the original tmobile ruu...still nothing. Once in a while after a reset I can make 1 call, or receive 1 call (that happened only once), but after that...nothinng. Looks like I gotta bring it in and get it swapped out or something.
Weird. I decided to try calling my gf while I was on my way over to her place, and it worked fine, and has been working fine since. This is on the original t-mobile RUU. I'm flashing it back to touch-it now, and I'll see if it keeps working.
I was on the phone for like half an hour with their tech support and we got nowhere, so this is weird.
i have the same problem, but not always.
just sometimes..
this time i try to re-search network..
usually it works, but i dont understand, why does it do this..
please help us

I just bought my xv6900 2 days ago and i noticed that each time my phone goes idle as it goes to sleep and when someone text messages me i dont get a notification until i turn on the phone again with the button on top of the phone. and also sometimes i dont receive a call and when i next turn back on my phone it says missed call..
does anyone perhaps have the same problem or know whats wrong with my phone?
I have had the same problem and can't figure it out. I've done a hard reset and that fixes it for a bit, but no long term solution.
I have the following Software Installed:
SPB Mobile Shell
VIP Ringtone Manager
Shubaroo Group SMS

i have yet to install any other apps that didnt come with the phone. and i read that forum link u gave me, it doesnt seem to be my battery because i know my battery was at 80% when this happend. its such a nice phone but this really pisses me off. wish there was a solution.
I am having the same issue. I called verzion and they know nothing about it. Everyone who has this please call. I really like this phone but if it doesnt work like a phone its useless.
I've seen same problem on a Sprint Touch so it's not specific to Verizon.
I had 2 Sprint Touch phones side by side and one would not wake up from suspend for an incoming text or phone call. The second Touch worked properly and they had the exact same configuration. No clue why some of the HTC Vogue's have this issue and others don't.
I would call Verizon and ask for a swap if they ignore your problem.
Well I did a hard reset and it worked great for few days! Now back to normal.. looks like it is going back to verizon. Not sure what to get though.
Got the same problem but some days it works fine and some days it doesnt. I througth i had to much stuff saved or downloaded on the phone but when i removed programs that i downloaded that i never used it didnt fix anything so im puzzled like everyone else here.
same issue
I have had mine for several months now, i just had to do a hard reset recently and my phone has done the same exact thing ever since. I thought maybe it was a problem with polling. I did notice this time I hard reset, verizon did not have me set my A key, instead they changed something on their side and had me do a 228 reprogram. So i wonder if something is being changed via this new method ( the guy told me he just figured out he could do it this way and not require me to set my akey ).
Hey!
Dunno if this was already posted on the site, I did a search on it and it didn't show up for the HTC Whitestone (Imagio), so I thought this could come in handy when it does happen to you (or to anyone with TF3D enabled really..)
My Imagio went crazy one day because I received over 40 text messages (I returned to the states and turned on my phone after only 2 days of no service overseas) and the blue blimp that normally counts messages remained frozen at 1 even after erasing all of my texts.
After some research I came up across FixUnreadCount , a program built back in 2004 or so which addresses this problem, although I dunno how it works since TF3D didn't exist back in 2004.
Anyways I ran the tiny exec in my Imagio, and viola! It solved my problems.
UPDATE: Didn't know there was a post about it less than 5 days ago, woops! :X
NOTE: you may require a restart upon completion, so make sure you dont have any unsaved programs running in the background!
Ok so not to sound guy or anything but I could kiss you I just spent an hour and a half on the phone with verizon just so they could do nothing and in 30 seconds this fix my phone your my hero.
Thanks
Yeah i found this on another forum after i did a HR (Hard Reset) only to have it come back after i finished setting up my phone again. So i did a second and found this little gem while i was setting up yet again. Only to have it happen a third time in two days.... Luckly i had this already and no more hard resets
