I've upgraded to WM5h and activesync 4. When I place the device into the cradle it won't connect and I don't have bluetooth on my PC to check that.
This Microsoft page suggests that I need to edit the idVendor registry key:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...usbmassstorageclassdriverregistrysettings.asp
At the moment my idVendor key has the value 1118.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Drivers/USB/FunctionDrivers/RNDIS
Does anyone know the RNDIS idVendor key for O2? Or is it something I've missed in the upgrade process?

I have changed my default remote desktop port on some servers, but Remote Desktop that comes with WM5 doesn't like that i connect to
example: hostort
Is there a way to go around that?
Open the PocketPC registry and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default
Add a DWORD named Server Port and enter the decimal port number of the new Remote Desktop Listening Port. Exit the registry editor program and soft reset the PocketPC. The PocketPC will now connect to the Remote Desktop host using the new listening port.

Has anybody been able to create a bluetooth connection/sync with Vista??
If so how??
vista intends to use "bluetooth" word in registry value instead of your "COM" port value where mine is COM12 port via bluesoliel so many times i have to use regedit to find and change name from "bluetooth" to "COM12" for it to recoganise and you have to download newer type of active sync for vista from microsoft(MS) site after you have got its genuine key checked from MS site ,else you might have to buy vista supported bluetooth or upgrade your drivers which are still in process of developing them the way vista wants them to be.
Go to \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services, modify the value name "SerialPort" from "Bluetooth or Infrared" to "COM12", where COM12 is the virtual com port associated to your bluetooth incoming com port(12 in my case). The number varies from pc to pc, so choose the right com port for your specific use.
When I plug my Cingular 8525 into the USB port, Activesync starts up, my device shows it connecting. Then, on the 8525, the icon that shows the 2 computers connected, disappears and Activesync disconnects with the message "Activesync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device." This happens about 50% of the time, the rest of the time it works fine. I have tried all the USB ports on my computer and still the same results. Here is a copy of my WCESCOMM.LOG:

ActiveSync keeps disconnecting
I was having this issue as well, but there are several threads that will help you get around this. I actually ended up reloading the USB drivers that I found on this site. I am also using a windows vista PC for backup purposes and everything you need or need to know can be found on this site. Another good reference site is Mrvanx.org.
I'm having issues where I connect with Activesync 4.5, disconnect or reboot my phone, and then I can't reconnect with Activesync until I reboot my computer.
It's very annnoying.

Where did you find USB drivers on this site? I have looked but don't see any.
This might be helpful for people who has problems to
find ActiveSync service while pairing phone to pc.
First you have to pair devices then go to registry on ppc:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device
Find device key which points to your pc
( inside of the key, there's value "name" )
and write the key's name down.
Delete pairing between pc and phone either from bluetooth
settings or simply deleting the key which name your wrote down.
Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\ActiveSync
if there's any keys ( "folders" with hexadecimal numbers ), delete them.
Create new key named with the value you wrote down
and create two new values:
Nameriority
Type:REG_DWORD
Data:0
and
Name:RasEntry
Type:REG_SZ
Data:your pc's bt hostname
Now just try to make pairing again and ActiveSync service
should be appearing.
I had earlier working connection which crashed for some reason. And with this trick I managed to get it working again.
My phone is Elf and ROM i'm using is ShadoW 2.1 TE.
I hope this is useful for someone.

I can use RegEdit in Windows 7 to connect to my T-Mobile Leo connected via USB cable. However it wants a username and password.
I never created one on the phone. Is there one built in by default or something?
