-There was a .cab to enable the disconnect button in the Connectivity baloon. Try to search in Win2003 Sin merged 2.02-2.06 rom posts,I am quiete sure you will find it there.
-You can disconnect by pressing your Red phone button about 2-3 sec.

!
i have WM 2005 beta. it is soem CAB for it?
The red button it works.

Hi,
I have an XDAIIs WM2003SE
To stop / disconnect GPRS you need to hold the "end call" button (Red button) down for 3 seconds or more.
Not sure if this is the same for your model

not sure if it works on 2005 though

disconnect GPRS in PPC2003???

Hi !
Does anyone know how to disconnect a gprs-connection in PPC2003?
Clicking the network-sign just reveils a bubble with the status of my connection, but no sign of a "disconnect"-button.
I dont want to turn off my phone every time i want to disconnect.
Any clues?
Jabba
i have installed spb GPRS monitor it does the job and allow to check brandwidth consumption
how to disconnect
All u have to do is to press on the 'Antenna" icon then press on "turn phone off" it will disconnect gprs without turning your phone Off

GPRS and WM2003 (T-mobile)

Ever since i upgraded to ROM 4.00.10 i can't disconnect my gprs connection. It connects fine, I can even make an outgoing call during a grprs connection.
But I can't disconnect!!!
I have to turn my phone on and off...
Does anybody know where i can switch off a active gprs connection?
The reason I want to do this is because incoming calls get redirected to my voicemail while gprs is active.
Thx in advance
Odd. GPRS should suspend when a voice call comes in. If you are transmitting data it may redirect to voicemail.
The only way to disconnect the internet is to turn the phone off, or use SPB GPRS Monitor or something similar to manually connect/disconnect.
Which wireless carrier do you subscribe to?
Actually, SpB GPRS Monitor's "Disconnect" feature doesn't seem to do the trick (for me, anyway).
However, you can just push and hold (for a few seconds) the "End" red button on your XDA. Presto - no more GPRS connection.

thats the same as to off the phone...
I'd read a couple posts earlier about holding down the red button. I just tried it. Using the T-Mobile 4.00.10 and (is it 6.24? The radio stack that comes with that ROM) if GPRS is connected (you have the siglan bars and the horizontal arrows) and you hold down the red button for a couple seconds, it will drop the gprs and go back to the regular voice style signal meter.

Not on the 4.00.10 ROM/6.24 RS. With this ROM and radio stack, holding the End/red button ends the GPRS connection, without turning off the phone. You can turn off the phone by tapping the connection icon in the title bar, and tapping "Turn Phone Off". Not sure how this behaved in previous ROM/radio stack versions.

Cant disconnect GPRS

I have an XDA 1
Running 4.01.12 ENG - Radio 4.21.00
Connected to the Orange Network
When I connect to GPRS to access the internet or email.
It connects up fine. If I then tap on the signal Icon
(with opposing arrows indicating its connected),
It opens a ballon window with "Orange GPRS Connected". The only options are HIDE and a settings link. The is no disconnect option.
The only way I can stop the connection is to tap Setting -> Manage Existing ->Edit and then CANCEL
Anyone know how to fix this.?
Help appreicated.

Well, here is a little cool trick to disconnect the GPRS!!
Just press the "end call button" (the red button) for 3 seconds, then it will disconnect.
Try it, it works with me in xda II, I am not sure if it works in xda I. Let us know if this little trick works in xda I.
 It works. Thanks

Magician - Jam - XDA Mini - How to turn off GPRS?

Hi,
I have just upgraded to a Magician (02 XDA Mini ROM) from a Wallaby (02 XDA1) which was running an AT&T WM 2003 rom.
My question is - where has the little "disconnect GPRS" option gone from the balloon window that appears when you tap on the Net work conection icon in the start bar?
To turn on GPRS - you tap the "G" icon in the start bar - then a "connect GPRS" option appears in a balloon. On my old XDA to turn off GPRS it was the reverse. On the Magician - there is no "disconnect gprs" link, just the words "connected" in the balloon where the disconnect link should be.
Anyone have any ideas of how to effectively turn it off?
At the moment I am just turning flight mode on and off, which works but is a little tedious.

J
Disconnect GPRS
Press and hold 'End' (the RED phone button) for about 3 to 5 seconds and the GPRS session will disconnect.
This used to work for the xda2 as well, though it wasnt mentioned in the user manual for the xda2. I havent read the users manual for the JAM, but I've seen this mentioned in the FAQ on clubimate.

Hi, simply press and hold the End key (red one) for 3 seconds.
The "G" inside a square will always remain there to give fast acess to settings.

Give you also the costs of you GPRS usage and lot's of other handy stuff...

funny becuase my GPRS connections always close themselves on my Compact. I was actually wondering how to keep them open rather than auto close?
Hi!
@digger: use the following little Utility which was originally developed for Windows Smartphones - but also runs good on Pocket PC Phones.
Download it, unzip it, move the .exe to your MDAc/JAM, execute it, apply your changes and quit it - et voila...

i-mate ROM Update - GPRS Disconnect Button

I have just installed the new I-mate ROM update; all is fine except the GPRS Disconnect button had disappeared.
The GPRS Disconnect function was present on the latest T-Mobile UK ROM
Anybody know a regedit to provide this function?
Thanks.
in "HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone" create new dword value "Flags2". set it to bin value of 8.
Thanks, Perfect!!
However, I could only set a Dec value of 8; it works so who’s complaining?
Isn't that button now found in Comms Manager? Or is that the button you are talking about?
No I don’t think so, the new button in comm manager appears to be a function to turn the phone off and put it into flight mode.
I required a Disconnection button when connected via GPRS to kill the connection.

You have such a function in the new connection manager. The button with phone symbol and two arrows. When connected you can press that to disconnect GPRS
ooohhh. ok, its the device symbol that states ' Stop Data Service' when pressed.
Well I got two ways of disconnecting now....Thanks.
