Hey all,
i have found a new mms program that is currently in beta testing that seems to work so far in wm05. the address is http://electricpocket.com/products/pixermms.html you can find the download there near the bottom, the correct one is where it mentions xda.
i however am unable to test send/receive features because i cant work out how to set up gprs/wap in magneto some help with this would be appreciated.
THNAKS IVANT .. yes CONFIRMED PIXER can send MMS using MAGNETO .. but i cant receive an MMS (need to confirm yet) .. at least this is a good start .. .. thanks again..
PS dont use local number coding instead use international Number coding
example
09173xxxxxx4 <- local
+639173xxxxx4 <-international
if you cant connect to GPRS you need to connect manually
(Start->Settings->Connections tab->Advanced Tab->Select Networks Button->Edit Button->Tap and Hold the Modem Connections then connect)
try any of this three cab see which one will work for you
MMS
I wasn't able to get this to work. Stayed stuck on "0% Connecting" even when my GPRS connection was established prior. Funnily enough, if i DIDN'T establish the GPRS connection manually then it said "Authentication OK" even though it wasn't connected to anything! Then it would just hang.
I have to soft-reset to get out of it as "Cancel" does not work.
Using:
WM2005 1.50g
Radio 1.17
i-mate PocketPC
Vodafone NZ
I have not had any joy with MMS Composor 2.0.0.20 for Magneto either (hence why I'm trying this). I am about to install EzWAP 2.5 and try that again. Had some issues with it though, will try again. MMS is just handy to have. You wonder what messages you're missing out on without it

Toe,
Could you post your settings for Pixer4?
My settings are below and I cant seem to send nor receive..
Thanks..
hi jenellej.. just run the GPRS cab ..
under in Service use Globe MMS Settings or Smart MMS Settings or Sun MMS Settings
for sun
"Gateway"="202.138.159.78"
"MMS URL"="http://mmscenter.suncellular.com.ph"
for GLobe
"MMS URL"="http://192.40.100.22:10021/mmsc"
"Gateway"="192.40.100.20"
for Smart
"MMS URL"="http://10.102.61.238:8002"
"Gateway"="10.102.61.46"
i already try the GLOBE and SUN .. but i havent try it with SMART yet
one last thing .. during sending .. the connectivity will not popup that it is connecting to GPRS .. but Pixer4 will say it connects .. suprisingly it does send without the GPRS Connecting notification appeared .. so its normal that you though it doesnt established a connection but in fact it does ..
PS Dont install also ArcSoft MMS COmposer
I manually configured my connection settings. But there should be no problem using toenailed cab. I used to have problems, maybe because it causes conflict with Arcsoft MMS. I uninstalled it, then it worked!
still doenst work
can ´t get it ti work in vodafone.pt i have tryed every possible combination and still get the message rejected for unknown reason
i will not give up lol

it takes time for it to send. just wait for it. it will seem it hanged but in fact it isn't. it takes time on "authenticated-ok" but after a while, it goes on smoothly.
for SMART (philippines):
here's the settings for Pixer..
Start/Settings/Connections/Connections
Click Advanced Tab, choose Select Networks
Under "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:", click new.
Under General Tab:
Enter a name for these settings: Smart MMS
Under Modem Tab:
Tap new, enter a name for the connection, select "Cellular line (GPRS)" then tap next.
Access point name: mms
Click Next then Finish.
NOw open Pixer4.
Tap Options/Preferences/Advanced.
Wap Gateway IP Address:
10.102.61.46
MMS URL:
http://10.102.61.238:8002
Service:
Smart MMS
Click OK, check "Get Message Immediately" then OK.
for GLOBE and SUN settings, refer to toenailed's post above.
i was working on a cab with toenailed's help (thanks toe!!!), but i still can't get it to work. maybe later i'll figure it out when i'm not too busy.
I can send using Pixer4 on the Orange network. Not sure about receiving yet.
My Pixer4 settings:
Wap Gateway IP Address:
192.168.224.10
MMS URL:
http://mms.orange.co.uk
Service:
Orange MMS
works perfectly on sending MMS message (Etisalat) Operator & 1.5 WM but recieving is not working even when retrieve option is ticked, but that could be because of the workarounds am doing with MMS composer, am trying to replace the pop3 account in my inbox with MMS composer but no success so far
How abaut EzWAP MMS
i'm not try it yet but i thought it work....

I am using the setup for tmobile connections and the internet works fine. When i click send for mms it automatically states that unable to send your messages your message will remain in the outbox!
any ideas?? Thanks in advance
you need to setup mms configuration, search for MMS settings.

i'm on O2 paygo and have to use the wap network to get my mms to work, this maybe different for tmobile.
there may be some cab files on the ftp to help get the settings working.
i've just upgraded my rom so need to do this myself but for O2.
good luck if you find a solution please post it to help other tmob users

I checked all my settings and they were as above - the settings that worked previously - I have definately got The Internet selected for connecttion. I have also tried demoniks settings for tmobile and stil no joy! the strange thing is i can receive messages just cant send any! Any ideas woudl be greatly appreciated!
may not be relevant but a recent Atom ROM upgrade messed up MMS sending but only
if you insert the contact, if you manually type the number to send to it works.
cheers mate for the response. I tried that but i still get the unable to send error! This is the most buggy phone i have ever had! It is a really good phone but appears to have so many issues!! Its a full time job trying to get fixes for it! I have three issues at present:-

Hi Guys!
If you can send/receive MMSes can you please tell how to send one?
What should I have in my menus? And why I can see all those settings but can't send?
Cheers Guys!
Ok, what I've tried next:
1. checking MMS settings (yes, they are in MENU)
2. taking a picture and tried to send this picture as a MMS (didn't work twice, Exec has just hang)
3. found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=261852&highlight=o2+settings and tried to applay those settings one more time. No joy...
Strange thing is that I don't have MMS folder but I do have MMS settings
Any other ideas? I really need MMSes (like never before, I'm heavy user but just calls and GPRS/WIFi- no texts (10-20/mth) or MMSes (5 in my whole life or even less)
Cheers

T-Mobile MMS Settings?
Originally, I wrote:
I have a similar problem with my Jasjar and T-Mobile (USA): MMS messages just sit there, and occasionally I get a notification that they couldn't be sent...? My Jasjar was purchased independently and is unlocked. Is there some T-Mobile USA file I need to upload to the device? And can I do it via my Mac and Missing Sync?

Well, I uploaded a T-Mobile settings file which I had downloaded from i-mate, et voilá! I was able to send MMSes. It also (when I choose to disconnect from the GPRS network) restored the G-in-a-square that had become dashed two-way arrows. Unfortunately, there's still something interfering with syncing with my Mac via Missing Sync for Windows Mobile.... Thanks! Cheers,
Has either one of you tried to contact your provider and actually ask them to help you with the settings? I mean really, CALL customer service and have them either walk you through it, or get the settings and we'll help you input them if it comes to that.
Hi,
No, I havn't. The reason is that I do have:
- VGA hack (OZ)
- load of programs (which shouldn't affect anyway MMS as they are not affecting emails and texts)
- I've done full backup + restore using SPB backup tool (from older ROM to newer, as my phone went for service)
Now I going to do hard reset.
I just have to create list of installed programs, prepare them etc.
I've even installed windows
Anyway, it looks like something is going on with MMSes...
Cheers
Chris
None of the things you mentioned can be used as an excuse for not calling your provider of the settings:
a. OzVGA has a nice little button which will allow you to boot in normal mode.
b. Nothing to do with MMS
c. That might be a problem altogether, it's generally not recommended restoring on newer ROM.

Hi,
I've just upgraded my Blue Angel (O2 XDA IIs) to Xplode's latest WM6 ROM and its working perfectly appart from MMS and GPRS.
I've installed both MMS cab files and I can compose an MMS message, but when I try to send the message, it will say sending, but the message will remain in the outbox and it will never get sent.
Similarly, I cannot access the internet through Internet Explorer with GPRS.
Can anybody please tshow me exactly how to setup my Blue Angel for this?
Thankyou,

Your first problem seems to be GPRS setting. If that is not set properly, even MMS will not work.
GPRS: I am not familiar with O2 parameters, but you need to go to Settings > Connections > Connections and MY ISP and create a new or manage an existing connection. Parameters needed are : Connection name, modem of Cellular Line(GPRS), access point name, User Name (O2 's GPRS users name), and password.
This should be enough to set your GPRS settings.
Once this is set, you need to setup MMS. Open Messaging, then Menu > Options > click on MMS. Go to Servers Tab and click New, here you need to set Server name, Gateway, port number, server address and most important is the connect via, set My ISP (GPRS connection name). You are all set and set this MMS as your default.
Install HTC Network Wizard, go to Settings-Connections-Network Wizard, choose your country and operator, soft reset and voila!
DANDANA is right , it will work for you.
But as we know Network Wizard has limited list of operators so for example it is useless to me and i have to perform all of the settings manually, because my operator is not on the list

Whilewe are on the mms/gprs subject:
at the moment, i have 2 settings on my gprs connection 1. gprs wap (internet) 2. mms
the way it works is, if i need to connect t internet then i need to set up connection to gprs wap MANUALLY, and the same thing for mms.
the problem is if my connection is set up on gprs, and there is an incoming mms, it fails to receive automatically.
how can i set it up automatically? I know there is "AUTO PICK" option, but I tried it before and it doesnt work.... or does it?
how do you guys set this up?
Thanks
Try this CAB
Or you can try to use Schap's Operator settings....
Hiya
Ok so ive had my x1 a couple of weeks now and love it to bits, however im really struggling with mms and wondered if anyone else has the same problem or if theres a tweak for it
Im on three network in the UK, and have got all the right settings on it .. I can send sms, and can connect to the internet via my network, but when I try to send an mms it will let me compose it but wont send. It just sits in my outbox looking pretty but refuses to go!
Any help would be greatly appreciated .. thanks
Mella
Go into you sms\mms folder (where your sms's are)
Go Menu. MMS Options
Goto the Servers tab and check that it is using the correct mms server
You have to create a new connection for mms, and set it to default for mms so it changes connection when sending mms messeges
Hiya
Yeh I have the three mms settings and they are set as default, but it still wont go .. any more ideas guys?
Check the following, but change telstra to three:
Go to Start, Settings, Connections, then Connections again.
Go to the Advanced tab
Choose Select Network
Change the second drop down box to Telstra MMS
Make sure you soft reset after making these changes
If you are still stuck give the x1 support hotline a call. They have fixed a few problems for me.
Most operators have a service that sends you the mms settings through a text message. The phone can then automatically pick that up and config it.
Some operators don't support the X1 yet though.
Hi buzz, thanks for getting back to me again!
It doesnt give me that option in that box unfortunately .. I debranded my phone using the uk rom
I dont get how it will let me browse the internet using three internet settings yet not send an mms through them, and ive checked my mms settings so many times. Aggghhhrrr its driving me crazy!
Ooooh wheres the help line number? I think thats going to be my next option ..

Yes unfortunately three dont support this phone so will not send me the settings, but ive found the settings online aswell as checking through my previous phone so im 99% sure im doing it right
Ok, you need to make a new connection in that menu for the second drop down box.
The first drop down box should say Three Internet (or similar).
Click the "new" button below the second drop down box and use these settings:
3 MMS settings
Access Point Name: mms.three.co.uk
Username: blank
Password: blank
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 217.171.129.2
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
Then go into your SMS/MMS inbox and check that 3 MMS is your default mms server.
Last of all... soft reset and you should be right.
Woohoo it worked it sent it!
My last phone wasnt half as technical as this so its taking me a while to learn the ins and outs, but im determined to perservere as I love it so much.
Buzz your an angel .. Thank you so much for your help
Mella
No worries.
Make sure you keep these settings somewhere (especially if you are flashing new roms).
It took me a while to get my mms settings working (no thanks to telstra), but I'm always happy to help.
i cant send and download mms but gprs working perfect
what to do all the setting is ok
To make my MMS work I had to do (and this is translated so might differ a little):
Message tab -> All -> Menu -> Settings -> Settings -> Menu -> MMS-server -> your profile -> then the connection was set to GPRS or WAP, change this to My ISP or My work network.

What ROM are you using? I do know that some of the more recent ROMs have this particular problem.
MMS not working on Vodafone HD2
I've followed the instructions on the vodafone.co.uk site carefully for MMS server settings but my device simply fails to send OR receive MMS. This is highly annoying for such a new device.
HELP! Someone must have it sorted.
I have exactly the same problem except im an o2 uk user, cant send or recieve mms when using a cooked rom.

And the same for me on VF UK. Can't send or receive MMS. Did you ever get it sorted?
not sure about vf, but for o2, you need two data connections setting up. 1 is wap, for mms, and the other is for actual data. If you set the mms server settings to use the normal data connection, it simply wont work.
Problem is when you go to settings menu all settings connection connection select networks edit, it only shows the currently selected data connection, you cant see that there is another connection setting there. So, you need to change teh top dropdown to the second data connection (o2 active its called for o2, whilst the normal data is called mobile web) and THEN you can see/edit teh settings for that connection.
the mms server settings need to be told to use O2 active and not mobile web, else it wont work.
Just some thoughts.
O2 user - same problem
I've just come back from an O2 shop, where one of the "experts" there failed miserably to get my phone to send or receive an MMS. I share all of the above frustrations.

ok, so heres what i did last time i manually set up mms for o2.
settings menu all settings connections connections add new modem
name o2 active (tho of course name doesnt matter)
modem cellular line gprs
AP name wap.o2.co.uk
user o2wap
pass password
domain blank
then, sms tab, all messages, menu settings options menu mms server new
name o2 active MMS (again, name doesnt matter)
ip 193.113.200.195
port 8080
server add h ttp://mmsc.mms.02.co.uk:8080
connect via **choose the name you gave the modem connection in part 1**
if you choose your normal data connection it wont work, it needs to be o2s wap server.
message size 300k
wap ver wap 2.0
soft reset, and it 'should' work.
