Well I don't know what's wrong and what step that i did wrong but just now I tried to upgrade my XDA II to WM2005. It's not working and I can't get in Wm2005 to my XDA and now, my XDA won't start. Urgh, it's making me crazy... please somebody, give me solutions.
Mine was refusing to boot last night... I had to re-flash with the original providers ROM files to get any functionality back. Try obtaining your providers ROM from their support team. It should flash even if there's no prior software loaded (Loads straight into bootloader).
hmmm....guess that i have to flash back
xda not working
hi dude
all you can do is to press the softreset and power and teh navigation key at the same time.this will put your device in boot loader mode.
all u need is the orginal rom and recreate the original rom on it.
cheers

You should have read the instructions before trying the upgrade. ROM upgrade goes first, then the radio stack. I don't know if there's something you can do yourself to fix your device, or if you need to have it reflashed by your supplier. Anyone else?

Hi,
Seems like you are another of the many victims who got problems
after trying to upgrading new ROM & Raidio stack. Hope you still
got that warrant and get it replaced with a new one. Otherwise
you might have to try what some crazy guys do here trying to fix
it by doing all sort of bootloader etc.. Hope those who are trying
to get the upgrade ROM and Radio stack be very careful and make
sure your device are from the same supplier or distributor where
you got the new upgrade. Otherwise it will be screwed. Dont learn
your lesson the hard way.
same problem here.
i've got the O2 NL XDA
downloaded the 3.15 and radio updates from O2 NL website
installed updates as per instructions
1st update went without a hitch
2nd update totally screwed my xda.
now it takes a long time to start up, and when it does it just displays a white screen with a blue taskbar.
tried the bootloader way of flashing the rom, but still no luck
luckily I can send it back in to O2 to have it fixed.
I may try to do it by backup up another XDA, and reflashing mine.
Same prob with me..
I've got exactly the same problem. I downloaded the Rom update 3.15 and the new radio update. First I installed teh Rom update and after a hard reset I "installed" the radio update.
While updating the XDA hang and I waited for about ten minutes to see if the XDA was really hanging. I gave the XDA a hard reset but then the XDA didn't work anymore (white screen and blue bar on top).
I can still access the bootloader. I installed a Rom from a XDA which still works. Still no difference. When I tried to write the Radio rom to a sd-card I got that message that I have to connect one or another RS cable.
The XDA still doesn't work anymore. I have contacted O2 but they told me that they couldn't help me because they can't find my IMEI number in their system. I contacted the company where we ordered all the XDA's but I still don't have an answer.
Thank you O2 for being so nice with not helping me out with my one week old XDA without any scratch. I hope my XDA could be replaced as soon as possible since the XDA will not sold anymore when O2 changes to Telfort !
If you can make the ROM update work, you should be able to install the corresponding radio as well.
Try this:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of ActiveSync (=3.6)
2. Make sure the battery is fully loaded.
3. Extract the ROM update and Radio update to different folders.
3. Connect the cradle to AC-adapter and computer.
4. Put the device in the cradle and make sure it connects to ActiveSync.
5. Run the ROM installation application. Should take 5-6 minutes.
6. Run the radio installation. IMPORTANT: When you are prompted to remove power supply, pull the power plug from the cradle. If you do not disconnect power, the update will fail. I think this update took a little more time than the ROM update, and the device may seem "dead" for a while.
Good luck!
Hy Guys.
Are there any news about the problem flashing the XDA?
Tried last night to update my XDA to the last Qtek-Versions (ROM 3.16.52.....)
ROM Update works fine, but after the RSU Update the phone didn't work any more.
Have the same white screen with the blue taskbar and the little keyboardicaon down the right side.
Entering Bootloader mode there comes the Error Message "GSM Error"
Nice screen is the qtek "Booting Screen".
It shows
G <empty>
R <empty>
3.16.52
Hope there are any other hints to resolv this problem.
Have anyone got some experiences with sending it back to O2 with an "unoffical" Softwareversion?
Or is there any posibility to change the ROM Version to an old (original) O2-RomVErsion?
Thanks for any help....
Regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
I would suggest to try upgrade you device with any XDA ROM version by bootloader's CE to SD backup/restore and after try again to upgrade RUU by PC.
I know that upgrading/degrading by bootloader is the more safety way to do it.

Riccardo

SD-Card Writer just orderd
But I don´t know if it will work. Since the Bootloader says GSM Error, I think there will be no other posibility to restore it.
Let´s wait for some days, hope and we will see.....

I was in the middle of installing the XDA Developers special Edition ROM v1.2 on my SX56 when the USB connection between the PC and SX56 was somehow lost! The SX56 is now essentially dead. I have not tried to enter bootloader mode as I'm not sure if I will be able to exit it and return to it if necessary.
Can anything be done to salvage this device? I will pay to have someone reflash the ROM with an SD card (and then install the XDA Developers special Edition ROM v1.2).
Help!
Many thanks,
Jeff in the Pacific Northwest
The same thing happened to me!!!
I am on the same boat. I was loading v1.2 onto my T-Mobile PPCPE (with ATT radio upgrade) when all of a sudden the active sync went dead and my PPCPE is now stuck. Help !!!
Thanks, perhaps we'll figure this one out.
Fernando
I hope so!
I had kind of a bad feeling about doing the installation, even though I'm far from new to computers and have installed new ROMs on other Pocket PC and Palm devices...but I took every precaution -- including closing my office door so no one would somehow interrupt the process -- and it still "went south." Luckily, I can still get into bootloader mode, so I hope all is not lost!!!
As long as you can get into the bootloader you should be ok because it means your bootloader appears to be intact....
Yes, but...

But assuming one doesn't know where to go with this information, how can I proceed? Are you willing to take on the ROM challenge? How much would you charge?? Email me...
And by the way, can the unit be powered off safely after being in Bootloader mode?
Thanks,
Jeff
It's really not that scary here's a great step by step tutorial on how to do it (it says Qtek but it is EXACTLY THE SAME ON ALL XDA devices)
http://ww2.zensay.com:81/qtek/ceupgrade.html
Save your money try doing it first....
Skip the backup steps first since you can't do that with your fried ROM now....
hi guys,
i acquired my XDA II jst 2 wks ago and now it's stuck with its O2 blue screen , no matter what reset i do. it's not even being read by active sych. the only thing i was doing before it happened, i was sending an sms and suddenly it hanged. so i restarted it, but it did not went through anymore, just up to the O2 bluescreen :x .
have anybody experience this error with their XDA II? is there a work around in this problem? thanks in advance for the help.
also after a hardreset ?
yes sir! after so many hard resets....
well since a hardreset unlike a softreset should clear the mem taking it back to how it were when you first got it
there must be something pretty much wrong with the device
i would
1 send it back to get fixed
2 try and upgrade / downgrade the rom from the bootloader
I hope you're an intermediate level user, cuz i'm suggesting you try reflashing the os (i mean since it apparently is dead now) via bootloader.
It can be done cuz i made a mistake in flashing once and it got stuck on the bootloader, but i was able to reflash it to a fixed state.
so visit the forum about the T-Mobile 1.60.36 RUU update, read it thoroughly, get the needed tools and do the needed steps before flashing. . . .the get your unit into bootloader (if it can) then flash away and pray it solves your problem
cheers,
Carlo
i will try your suggestion guys.... thanks so much for the giving feedback to my case... i'll keep you posted what happened.
if there's anything you can add or suggest further, i welcome it....
i tryed downgrading my xda to 1.5 so i will be able to use appz on it but now it just locks up on the O2 screen says the software version is 1.3 now but just locks up tryed about 100 different updates but nothing working is there a fix so i can get a custom rom on to it .................

you have to provide more (and more accurate) information (IPL and SPL 1.3 isn't correct. Is it 1.03? You really need to be accurate about what you post or someone could tell you to do something that will truely brick your phone). Your best bet at this point is to get the most current rom from your provider and then flash that. From the way you are describing it, you'll probably have to put it in bootloader mode to flash it.
Follow this guide and see if it helps:

nead a hand pls
ok here is the problem I tryied to flash a rom in my G4 cid locked and after it flashed correctly using the shell tool; I had to do a hard reset; when I did the hard reset my phone starts and freeze in the booting screen. with the o2 logo but doesn't seem to start; is there a solution providing that it can't recognize the active sync?
thanks

Hey guys, firstly, apologies if this post is in the wrong place.
i think i have made a massive mistake and am really hoping someone here can offer a solution. I installed hard spl, and went in search of official roms to try out. i installed this rom RUU_Leo_Dopod_CHS_1.70.706.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.3 2.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship.exe
from a link from one of the stickies in this section. i didnt see any obvious problem with doing this, but maybe i just have no idea what im doing. neway, no when i try to boot the phone up i get a message in red writing saying 'your rom isnt customised for your hardware. please reflash the proper rom code or contact the service center'
what can i do. is my phone bricked? how do i flash back to a compatible rom if i cant get an active sync connection?
ne help would be really appreciated guys. feeling slightly desperate here
turn the phone off, hold down 'vol down' and turn it on and you'll get to the bootloader. plug your usb in and it'll change from serial to usb. then flash as normal and think carefully next time
Same problem here. Just enter bootload, flash other radio, then flash other rom...
phew, thanks a lot guys. worked perfectlyjust out of interest, why didnt that rom work?
Don't know but I don't try non-WWE stock ROMs - I only use custom ROMs these days or stock ROMs from my region to be on the safe side...
