Tip : To Hide Bottom Right Rotate Screen Icon - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Sory If This already been posting.
I don't know with others, for me the rotate screen icon at the bottom right very annoying when i miss tap bluetooth or others icon and suddenly my screen change rotation (got lagging) and i must tap twice to get back. So i decide to map rotate to record button (not bad, first push, the screen rotate to right and second push the screen back to potrait) and hide the icon.
Here the way to hide:
1. With regedit program go to HKLM\Service\ScreenRotate
2. Find ShowIcon
3. Change the value from 1 to 0
4. Soft Reset plz
Already try with my XDA II Mini
:twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
Enjoy

Hehe !
Thanks for this tweak
It works for me too

cool thanks for the tip.. i always wanted to get rid of it........

Screen registry rotation fix
any idea what reg setting i would have to change, to make the tray icon rotate to landscape then rotate back to portrait, instead of right, left, normal?
Speedn

After installing PHM TrayLaunch I have the following minor problem: When I soft reset, the apps I added in tray Launch show up as "folder" icons instead of their original ones. When I enter TrayLaunch I see them with their original icons. Then I press ok and then the original icons are loaded in the tray. Quite annoying to do after every soft reset. Anyone a solution?

Phone skin settings in registry

In my Vario i had the ugly T-Mobile skin in the phone app. I've found the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin, with the keys for defining whole skin.
If Enable is changed to 0, after the reset is skin ignored and phone looks as the keypad for PIN enter. The bad thing is that smartdialing doesn't work.
So i tried another way. My friend has qtek 9100. In the registry he have no keys for defining skin, cust Enable entry with value 1 and dll path.
So i changed my registry in this way, but it didn't work. Skin entries are back an i can no more change Enable value to 1.
Does anyone know how to remove phone skin with smardialing working?
I have been looking at this - I tried renaming the subkeys (DIALER and PROGRESS) and that mostly de-skinned it (had to soft reset after changing them before it took effect). The smart dialing still worked (enable was still set to 1). The smartdialer graphics were not deskinned though.
However, changing it seemed to conincide with problems I had with my GPRS settings going dodgy, and on changing back GPRS seems fine. That could just be a conincidence though.
I have found that all the skin graphics are in graphices files in the windows directory. Some of them are the ones mentioned in the registry here, and some of them are called indialer_*. These indialer_ graphics are the ones that were not deskinned by renaming the DIALER and PROGRESS keys.
There is also carrierlogo.gif that is used in the background.
I recon that renaming the keys, and getting the indialer_ graphics from a non-skinned ROM should do the trick. But I am not sure if my GPRS problems were related or not.
Not had a chance (or another ROM) to play further though.
I've tried to rename DIALER and PROGRESS keys, but noeffect. After reset, the are back the same.
I know that indialer* is skin for smardialer. Smartdialer is sometimes called interdialer..
Finally, I've made it. Skin is nice blue with working smartdialing.. New know-how about registries.
The Skin!!!
Hey can u post a screen shot of the skin you are using and if possible how to change the ugly T-mobile skin!, i just got my Vario a few days ago and havn't found how to change the skin.
Thanks
It looks exatly like PIN enter screen.

What App Is This?

Wish I had a photo, but I remember seeing some Today screens that inidicated the number of voicemails, e-mails and SMS messages on the very top of the screen where signal strength, the clock, volume, etc indicators are. Can someone tell me what app(s) do this?
Well, there's Phone Alarm. But that is on your Today screen, not up on the top bar. But you can put it up next to it, like this...
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I feel as if I've seen it in the area above where you've placed PhoneAlarm. Does Wisbar do what I'm looking for?
It's not this one is it?
V
^^^ It is! ^^^
What is it?
dunno but the website tat pic came from was:
http://www.vijay555.com
The screenshot shows a couple of plugins I wrote, and some other tricks.
Ok, basically, I used my app called VJToggleToday to minimise the StartBar and Bottom bar down to maximise screen space.
Then, I used a custom PhoneAlarm skin I wrote. Using VJToggleToday, that can now "replace" the standard OS Start Bar.
It's all explained here, and the skins etc are available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27331&highlight=vjtoggletoday
VJToggleToday is being re-written for WM5 - go to the end of that thread for the current alpha release.
I haven't converted the PA skin to the WM5 version yet. I'm in the process of doing it now.
V
Thanks! I look into this; however, the links to your alpha release of VJToggleToday don't seem to work.
Try this one:
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjtoggletodayii/vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe
V
Thanks! Hopefully your full release will offer the option to keep the lower menu bar.
makisupa: use the configuration screen (or edit the registry directly), and just set the softkeys to 26 pixels as default. Then the softkeys will stay, but you can hide the start bar (top bar) as you wish.
In the current alpha release, both bars can be sized to whatever size <=26 pixels you want.
Access the config by launching it with the command line -config

Where is this located in the Registry?
HKLM > Software > Vijay555 > VJTodayToggle
But as I said, you don't need to use the registry, you can use -config

"Toggle"-softwarebutton in rlToday to switch between "Ring" and "Vibrate" profile.

"Toggle"-softwarebutton in rlToday to switch between "Ring" and "Vibrate" profile.
edit: Solution found.
I have made a new todayscreen with rlToday, SPB Weather and TodayAgenda.
In the first screenshot you can see a button with a speaker. This button I will use to switch directly between Ring&Vibrate and Vibrate&NoRing.
I mean the functions "On" and "Vibrate" that you can see in the popup on the second screenshot.
Is it possible to do this with only one button or do I need two of them? What code or registrykey can I use to fix this?
Thanks in advance...

i will attach 2 exe files for mute- and vibrate switching..
remove .zip and you'll have the exe's.
link to them in RLtoday and you'll be fine.
could you plz share your skin?
greetz
Hi, use VibraSwitch. It's an EXE that will switch between Ring and Vibrate when you run it. It's exactly what you need.

Thanks to marcelvanblankers and met3ora.
The VibrateOnOff is what I needed. Works perfectly.
skin.xml & png's are attached...
The MuteOnOff.exe.zip file is corrupted when I download it. I would find this on-off functionality of the ringer highly helpful. Anyone have a working version of a ringer on-off toggle?
Thanks in advance.

Is there an easy way to switch between running tasks?

I know Wisbar will list running applications on the top status bar, but I don't have wisbar. Is there a similar way to switch between running tasks without going back to Programs and re-launch the app?
Thanks.
There are some alt+tab applications out there that you can map to a key and switch between them (just like on a computer).
No need to install anything... From any application, press the [HOME] key (the house icon next to the 'pick up the phone' icon on the bottom of the phone) and that'll take you back to the TF3D home screen. Then, tap the upper right icon, which, assuming you haven't changed much, should be the task manager. A list of running apps will drop down. Just tap an application and it will come up and be active.
Hope this helps...
Jesse
Thanks all for replies.
I just found a freeware tool WkTask that does exactly what I am looking for. Also, it has the ability to exclude tasks that you don't want to show up on the task bar such as ActiveSync, Gyrator...

This is also done by the default task manager of HD. Just press the icon that has three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the screen and select the wrench icon.
Or you could use apps developed by the clever guys here at XDA-Developers...

I use the AE Button Plus task manager/action menu, you can assign it to a button and cycle through the open apps. simple and effective.
Who need beautiful device: Task Facade
Who need simple and fast: AE Button Plus Task manager

Totally forgot about this thread until I came upon this:
http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=15092
It links to two cabs that moves the slider to the middle or bottom of the screen. I chose the middle of the screen as this position is easier for one hand unlocking.
D.I.Y starter how-to
First, great cab very useful, thanks.
Little issue, I installed the cab, then removed the program to see which one I would like better. For some reason I cant cant get the original lock screen back up. The phone locks, but no slider bar. I did a soft reset but no joy, if anybody knows how to get the original back it would be much appreciated.
thanks

heres the original, and also the original but with animated side arrows, which were commented out when it shipped. Dont forget to remove the word before .cpr
Note - using the lockscreen with animated arrows causes the music player to stop/start every 20 seconds or so when playing with the screen locked, so if you use sound at all dont bother with teh animated arrows.
Much appreciated, samsamuel.
thank you so much spoogedemon ,that's what I was looking for
