I cant sync with bluetooth. Please help
make sure you have the latest rom since this seems to be most stable when doing AS over BT.
On Desktop
1) make sure bt dongle is inserted and all software have been properly installed
2) open Activesync click File>Connection Settings... check Allow serial or infrared connection to this COM port:
3) Indicate your BT COM PORT check your BT software or documentation mine uses COM5, this maybe diff on your desktop.
On PPC
1) Tap Start>Settings>System>Bluetooth Setting
2) Under Bluetooth ActiveSync Setup: tap Start you will be taken to the Bluetooth screen. Make sure both boxes are checked.
3) Under Devices Tab. Tap New your ppc will now search for your desktop.
4) type your passkey and wait for the Desktop to prompt you for a password. Type this password on the desktop to finish bonding.
5) open ActiveSync tap Tools>Connect via Bluetooth and you're done.
I did this but I can't connect still.
Here is my rom:
ROM version: 1.03.00 WWE
ROM date: 11/01/04
Radio version: 1.01.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.03.166 WWE
your ROM looks old. isn't there a new ROM for O2mini? I suggest you get the latest ROM. anyway with your current ROM it can still be done but it is a bit tri ckier. You can read a step by step how to here http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=544932
sorry for the ignorance. I went to the O2 site and there are no new rom for the mini.
Can you please tell where to get it?
Sorry I didn't know that just assumed O2 had released it since i-mate and qtek have released theirs. I use the i-mate JAM w/ Qtek 1.11WWE ROM. Anyway you can wait for O2's official ROM also or follow the link to HoFo that did the trick before my ROM updates.

Hi,
Outlook installed, activesync 4.0 installed, still CANNOT sync Contacts and Calender with my PC.
Sync folders are fine as well as favourite but no contacts and calenders can be done.
PLs advice...
Mark
Try this...
force syncing from the JASJAR on activesync menu... sometimes resolves the problem instead of doing it from the PC...
if doesn't work, delete the partnership... (should you want please save first the folder on your PC, so if you can create a new one and after copy/paste again your info...)... and create a new partnership...
should that either works, de-install the active sync and following a PC reboot re-install it again... in this step you can also use the lastest version (not official yet) AS 4.1... from here... ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/AS4.1_build4807/
I hope this helps...

I can't find that directory.
Also, I'm using Leechftp as my ftp client and it never lets my go up levels - need to disconnect and reconnect - anyone else get this or what clients are you guys using?
activesync 4: the cd produced for the exec has all the files required but the wizard is not correctly programmed. any way, the easy way is to install the activesync 4 and a file on the cd called "USBMDM.inf " not sure of the extention but if you click it and scroll to install it sould now be able to connect. if you haven't got the file here it is.
ps don't for get to unzip it.LOL
I've updated my T-Mobile US MDA to the shipping k-jam ROM and it seems to work fine, though I can no longer connect it to ActiveSync. When I connect the device, Windows detects it as a "Windows Mobile-based Device", but says that it cannot find drivers for it, so ActiveSync can't see it.
I've been looking around for a place to download drivers, but haven't found them. The imate site has a support area, but without an IMEI to an imate device, I can't get access to it. Do they have the Windows drivers in there?
Make sure you have ActiveSync 4.1. Earlier versions will not connect to the latest ROMs. 4.1 is available directly as a download from Microsoft or you can find it on the T-Mo CDROM (if you have a T-Mo device)
I had it already, and reinstalled as well, but still no love. The firewall is off as well.
Searching for drivers on the T-Mo CD didn't turn up anything either.
I have same problem - sometimes - but then, when keep on disconnecting and connecting cable to the phone, after a couple of tries it connects successfully.

I am hoping that you can help me out with a little situation that I may have created on my HTC Tytn.
I was using the original ROM that Shipped with my Tytn and I was experiencing a "slow" device with some audio problems while in calls. Yesterday, I decided to upgrade. I installed SPL-2.10.01ipro. as per the warnings on the page (thankful that I have not bricked my phone) Worked perfectly for allowing myself to upgrade to what I think on the downloads page was the most current "stable" rom. Currently my Tytn is running the download listed below.
Upgraded HTC English Qtek_001
Rom 2.11.255.1 03/07/07
Exp Rom 2.11.215.102
Radio 1.38.00.10
Protocol 32.71.7020.12H
OS Build 15673.3.3.1
AKU 3.3.1
SPL 1.11
HTC BOOT 108
I have to admit, the unit runs great. Problem though, on the old OS, I was able to, under phone "band" select "2G". The reason for this is the Blackberry Connect software that I need to run for my work. (Or else I get assimilated into the world of Blackberry handhelds) will not connect as 3G. I have currently set the unit to "auto" for network type ("GSM ,WCDMA) and "auto" for GSM/UMTS Band. Any time I try to change this to anything else the unit comes back with a "Warning" that it can't complete the change. The unit still will not connect and says "Not Connected" under the bb_connect ver 4 status page. I have tried to install the older Rom back to;
HTC English
CID Q-TEK_001
ROM 1.18.255.3 7/22/06
ExtRom 1.18.255.106
Radio 1.03.03.10
Protocol 32.34.7010.01H
OS Build 14955.2.3.0
AKU 2.3
SPL 1.11
HTC_BOOT 1.04
I'm not sure if I can keep the upgraded radio and Rom versions and simply change the OS version but when I try to change to the complete rom above I get an error (260): UPDATE ERROR
"The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA Phone. Please Check your USB Cradle/Cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA phone"
The connection is good as I have been using active sync to install things like the blackberry software.
I am spinning my wheels here. I thank you in advance for any assistance that you can provide.
I've successfully upgraded my Qtek 9090 to WM6 Pro (5.2.16.20)
-
ROM version: 5.60.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05

When I put the Qtek 9090 on cradle it ask to install Activesync 4.5 or newer ... but I've installed (and reinstalled) this tool, downloaded directly from MS site.

i got the same problem!
my 9090 says:
cannot open the connection usb, this connection is no longer valid ore exist, plz select a diffrent
it worked until now
Sorry, my English is bad. But I try to help because I had the same problem.
Which firewall is installed?
With the change of WM2003 on WM6 new rules must be allocated for ActiveSync.
Several ports (999, 5678 etc.) must be switched free or turn the firewall off for testing!
Simply turning off the network monitor at the Comodo Firewall.
Good luck!
Mathias
My Qtek 9090 ask for Activesync 4.5 or newer while connecting.
I have just tried with another PC with XP on board and a fresh copy of Activesync 4.5 - Same problem (ask for 4.5 or newer)
I'm quite sure the problem is on PDA.
I hope in some suggestion.
Thanks to all.

check\uncheck in USB to PC - Enable advanced network funkcionality try which one of them will work with your pc
RESOLVED !!! (Yeahhh)
The problem was on network properties of Qtek, when connected.
Right-click (in control-panel/network-connection) the Qtek entry / Then properties
- check only tcp/ip protocol and MS network services
- I've disabled bindings for VPN and packet-trace utility
Activesync 4.5 WORKS GREAT NOW
Have a nice WM6 upgrade.

You do need ActiveSync for XP or older, or Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista (download the latest version from Microsoft).
In general you have to do the following steps:
1. Connect your Artemis to the computer using a USB cable.
2. Do NOT make a partnership. If you get a wizard or popup, just cancel/quit it.
3. obtain the rom of your choice (it sounds like you've allready found a PTG rom)
4. make sure your Artemis is CID unlocked. If not, use artemis USPL for this.
5. run RUU.exe or RomUpdateUtility.exe which is usually provided with the rom. If not, find a recent version HERE. If you use a RUU.exe not provided with your rom, just remove the old rom (a large file with the extension .nbh) and put your rom in the folder with RUU.exe
6. Follow steps on the screen. Read the information / caution rules, press next a few times, then press update.
7. The Artemis will go into boot loader mode (first a three color screen, then a grey one with a white/blue progress bar)
8. wait some time, until the wizard says you're finished
9. The Artemis will reboot. Wait for it to completely start windows, then do a hard reset (push both softkeys and the reset button, release reset button after a few seconds). This way you make sure your rom gets flashed well
10. Wait for the progress bar to end again and for windows to start
11. Start calibrating your screen and customising windows to your needs.
This should do it
