Storage card trouble
I think I am missind fatfs.dll file - anybody can sent it - is in a windows folder.

My I-mate has 14 MB of internal storage on it. It can be used to permanetly store backup info like contacts, tasks and network settings so that you do not lose them during a hard reset. Under File explorer it displays as "Storage." When you insert an SD card it should come up under File Explorer as "Storage Card." When I first got my 512 SD card my I-mate was a little buggy about transfering files to it, but after a hard reset it worked perfectly. (I dunno what it was) If you can afford a hard reset maybe it will help. You can always save your Contacts/tasks/settings in the 14 mb storage before you do.
Card problem
Thaks for explanation, but my MDA II still does not read any card. I was browsing registry and could see that MMC and SD cards require fatfs.dll library what is not presented and registered. This library shall be in windows folder and if you send it I can register and test it.

When i first got my XDAIIi i can wirte things into storage card but after i install lot of crap software then i do a hard reset after this everytime i want to copy or write somefile into storage card it say "The media is write protected" please anyone can help me
why dont you look yr SDcard, maybe the 'small switch' is by accident set to lock.
that storage which is the storage rom
after I try to unlock tat extended rom it wont work and it also f*** up my storage rom now I cant even write anything on it
Try using a p[rogram to format the SD Card.
It will work then
Cheers
Try Flash Format (www.cnetx.com), its a great program that deals with Storage Cards.
It can also verify your SD Card!
you can also restore your files from the damaged SD card using undelte software & a SD card reader

The name "Storage Card" is now renamed "Storage Card2" in File Explorer. It wouldn't allow me to change the name back to "Storage Card". What do I need to do to access my stored programs; other than doing a hard reset?. I'm using a T-Mobile MDA with WM5. Thanks.
have you used any program to unlock your extended rom? if not, then pull out your memory card and put it back in. Sometimes when the memory card gets loose it can cause a problem with accessing the card, so the phone puts it in as card2.
if your phone's extended memory is unlocked, then that's a separate issue...

I pulled the memory card and put it back in, but nothing changed. The problem came up after I used Tweaks2k2 to tweak my phone.
Update:
I did a "hard reset" and everything is working just fine.
Thank God for backups!
The same thing happened to me on my 8125! The folder Storage Card2 is where all your programs are stored, so don't do the same mistake I made! I deleted Storage card2, assuming this was the bogus folder...Instead several hundred MB of stored programs were lost. Try this before you do something you could avoid. Delete tne folder Storage Card, remove the actual SD card, re-insert, then soft reset. Let me know if it worked.

Hello,
I had to do a HardReset.
After that, I can not delete/copy a file from/to the StorageCard.
It looks as if the card ist read/write-protected.
But where can I change this?
I can start a own program from the card,
and this program can write to the card.
But I can not start a cab-file from the card.
After the HardReset I did a backup with sk-tools,
everything looks fine and I can use the installed programs.
Thanks for help

same problem!
i have my 8gb and a 2gb (came with the phone)
after a hard reset i can nly access the 8gb via activesync which is very slow, if plugged into the computer with the adaptor it is recognised, but cant be opened, deleted, formatted etc
this is not the case with the 2gb memory stick?
any ideas? i cant even format it!
Hi.. Not sure if it will help but you coud try applying the SD Card Capacity Fix.... Your find it on the Hotfix Post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604634

After several HardResets my HD2 was nice to me.
The problem came up with the installation of
Touch-Keyboard-Keypad.CAB (freeware)
There must be a READ/Write-protection somewhere
in the registry.
