Hi guys!
I have read a lot of success stories of unlocking the XDA II and XDA IIs.
However, Ive recently got the XDA IIi on contract from O2 and want to unlock it so that I can use it abroad as well.
I have tried all the possibilities including the XDA Unlock v2.2 but it doesn't seem to help me to unlock the XDA IIi.
Is there a different software to unlock the XDA IIi or something that I am missing???
Just for information, the details for the device are as follows;
ROM Version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.10.124 WWE
Kindly help me unlock this device as I am going on holidays and want to use it on my trip!
Thanks
anyone? :?:

ummm i am not very used to this ROM thing.. can somebody explain in detail please...
like looked everywhere on this site and havnt got a clue how to unlock XDAIIi from O2
has anybody had the XDAIIi unlocked yet and if so, how??
thanx
http://www.imei-check.com
trust me it's as easy as synching
 EEEEk,, bbut that means P P Paying. There must be a nice simple and free way, like for the xda2
there is no way tell now for free unlock as i know
I was looking for weeks and weeks as well. Imei check did the job in minuets. As far as I know it's still the fastest and cheapest compared to some of the other places
i used imeicheck...
I would pay IMEI-CHECK too to have my XDA IIi unlocked. The problem is they require ID picture. Because I do not want my information open to these people that I do not know, I refused to send ID document and my device is still locked.
On their website, there are questionable statements such as: "... some ISP providers treat our email as a SPAM...", and "...in case of any fraud we have your phone data including IMEI...Don't risk a locked IMEI..."
That was also a reason I do not trust them. Have any one having problem with their service? It seeems everyone is happy with them.
I don't know if it's common knowledge who runs imei-check but I have met him before, and he has loads of respect within the MS smartphone & ppcphone community, and is a regular contributor to www.modaco.com too.
I still had to pay to get mine unlocked too hehe.

Im using it right now....rom 3.14.17ENG Radio 4.16.....it works fine
The Truefax thing on www.myxda... looks exactly what I want.
Will it work with UK latest i.e. ROM 3.14.13 and Radio 4.16? - it mentions 3.14.17, but some sites say the last .xx is not really a vital issue. I'm ok with PCs, but a bit wary of destroying my XDA with Asian flu and/or their Rom update.
Also, I note that it overwrites some .dll "just say yes" and that the KSE support looks a bit iffy - so keen, but nervous here.
thanks for any info
p.s. I bought the XDA assuming it would be a bit of a flakey toy (don't possess a separate mobile by choice) and was really waiting for the Intel design to come out - but have been bowled over by it in all honesty. I'm not a 'poser' by nature, but when people have expressed an interest and I've demonstrated it it really is amazing how jealous people get. The phone bills are less than expected too.
"OK, you can let go of my arm. Can I leave the showroom now?"
I heard from O2 today. The latest update (4.20 / 3.16.32) will not be release. This is due to some bugs (a few which I pointed out, and probably some more in beta testing). They are working on a new release, which should be available soon (6 weeks was mentioned).
I'll keep you posted.
so the new customers ARE being used as beta testers....
hmmm now let me see... no wonder the XDA runs an MS operating system, they are SO much like Microsoft as it is !!! lol.
arf arf
Noo, not a beta.
To cut a long story short, my XDA broke at the weekend. Fortunately it was in warranty so O2 sent me a new one. I was delighted to see a new version of software on it. O2 are now (well on mine anyway) shipping...
ROM: 3.16.32 ENG
Radio Ver: 4.20.00
Protocol Ver: 32S54
Well I have not yet revived a call on it. And as for the SMS there is still no contact name (Sigh).
Well if any one here something I should look out for let me know. And if you want to know any of the new bits post back here and I will try to help out.

sms name
You need to store number in +44 for the SMS fix to work on 31632... just like the Orange SPIV phone.
Not convinced
I'll not be trusting o2 + M$ for a while again.
I'm looking at Orange next...
The XDA works well in principle. But as we can see the bugs are just too many to make people interested. Makes a good toy though!!
Okay, yesterday afternoon, at the Mobility & Wireless Conference I met up with a T-Mo tech and account reps who confirmed that the 2k3 upgrade will be made available and be very soon, but cannot provide a date. They really want to make sure it is bug free and that they do not want to experience a Toshiba-like fiasco. They did not have an MDA available, although they said something about 11/1; however, their MDAs on display were already running 2k3! They allowed me to do a soft-reset and this is what I saw:
Same "Not for sale" T-Mobile splash screen as seen on 4.00.16 and .21.
ROM v.4.00.03
RS v6.23

- they stated that it has been running very well and stable and that this is their "x-th" build they've been exposed to. They are very aware of the versions tested on the forums here, but didn't really want to comment other than the later builds maybe buggy and warranty being voided, yada, yada, yada...and we left it at that.
They did reassure though that they want to release the most stable and well tested build as that is what the customers deserve - that is the reason for the delay.

I'm wondering how could T-mobile to make sure it is bug free .
all Microsoft products are full of bugs!
I have IPAQ with WM2003, it is buggy software. system crashes/frozens are very offen!
That's just bizzare! Their devices were running older builds than we have been running here!?
I'd certainly be happy for them to wait to get any radio stack bugs out....since there is certainly room for improvement.
Anyone ever seen radio stack 6.23?
..lance
I'm still curious as to the radio stack version that was stripped out of the 4.00.21 ROM...
T-mobile wants to make sure it is bug free . at least we need wait another 20 years!
the radio stack comes with 4.00.21 is 6.24.
if you need I could send to you!

Hey... Could you send me that radio stack 6.28? Just email me at [email protected] Thanks!
Well basically I have been with O2 for several years, but am now going to change over to t-mobile for the cheaper GPRS.
I have never changed a rom or anything on my XDA (as it is only about 2 weeks old) and have no idea about anything at all. The Wizard will accept the t-mobile sim already but i thought that it would probably be best to change the boot screen as well. Would I need a t-mobile rom on my xda for all of the t-mobile features to work? One of their customer services guys told me that it should be compatible, so please could somebody advise me what to do and maybe give some instructions.
Thanks very much in advance
Anybody? (This is pretty important to me)
I hate to bump this again, but please can somebody help?
why not just do it anyways. and while you're at it, flash a wm6 rom!

the fact that so many people are running custom roms should answer that question for you
I have no clue about flashing roms though. So can somebody give ame straight answer, if I flash a t-mobile rom then will all of the O2 crap go and be replaced by t-mobile? Also, will it actually work?

yes, but it may get replaced with t-mobile crap
in layman terms it works like this - Microsoft make a rom for a device, they give it to the sellers (o2 cingular vodaphone etc) who add all the rubbish which makes the roms so heavy and slow but also include usefull things mms settings
EDIT:you can add gprs/mms settings to a custom rom, there are cab files in the ftp site somewhere

Root it and get froyo as well ;-)
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Rooting won't help him to remove the sim-lock. Have you asked your carrier how much they will charge to get it unlocked?
Swyped from my HTC Legend
it's a second hand phone...i bought it from someone and the phone is registered on her name so the carrier wont do it for me unless she is present and she is not available so i'm looking for other ways to do that...
anyone? please....
This seems illegal. If the phone was bought with a simlock for a certain period, the carrier should not remove it, nor you.
At least in Spain, unlocking a cellphone is absolutely legal, no matter when you bought it.
completely legal in Israel too...
Unlocking the phone to be used on other carriers is completely legal.

how about a web site?.... anyone?
Try the site from here...
