Camera Application - Alternatives - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi, I had a SE P900 for a while before upgrading (in one massive leap!) to the XDAII. I had a program called PhotoFusion which allowed you to create panoramas and to warp (real-time) photographs. Does anyone know of an equivalent application for the pocket pc?

Note-taking / Personal Wiki software

i came to the XDA Exec as a long-term Palm OS user... it's been more of a learning curve than i was expecting, but the one application that i still miss the most (and that sometimes makes me wish i hadn't sold my Clie UX50!) is NoteStudio (http://dogmelon.com.au/NoteStudio.shtml)
without wanting this to sound like an advertisement (i dont work for them - honest!) i never realised how much i relied on it until i made the switch to windows.
for those who don't know of it - it is a note-taking app that works like a personal wiki. you get all the benefits of a wikipedia-type approach (simple syntax, links between pages, HTML pages that can be viewed/printed/etc. in other apps etc.) in a personal note-taking app that can be viewed and edited on both your Palm and Windows PC.
for those who have seen it - can anyone suggest a WM equivalent?
i've relying on just using NoteStudio as a stand-alone PC app, and miss having my notes with me at all times - it's almost enough to make me wanna buy a Palm for note-taking only and carrying it around with my Exec!
sorry.... blatant attempt to get this higher up the list a bit
does anyone use anything other than the Notes bit of stuff like Pocket Outlook or Pocket Informant to take Notes?

Emulator for TYTN via Desktop

I have checked the forum anything that resembled what I am looking for ? If I am even looking for the right thing; I am looking for software that would allow me control my TyTN from my desktop; something to the effect of a screen emulator that would allow to make changes to contacts and save them to the phone and do some cleaning up of files etc. and also would make it possible to clean up stuff that is on the SIM card.
Any help would be great !
Thanks
PabloP
There is a client from Microsoft that allows you to do called Remote Display Control.

Hi.
There is a product from SOTI called Pocket Controller Professional. It
emulates the TyTn on the desktop, and allows also to use the clipboard to
copy text (like the long registration codes).
It's only drawback is the price: some 26 $!

8525 - Java for Canon PTZ Webcam View/Control

Hi Guys,
I have several Canon VB-C10 PTZ Webcams. Years ago there was a viewer for PDAs. However, it is no longer available.
Canon has 2 small webviewer apps that run in windows. But I have not gotten either of these to work.
The camera itself has a built in webserver to view and control the cameras from a browser with java.
But alas I have not had any success in getting my previous 8125 and now 8525 up and running.
So I thought perhaps you guys might be able to find me a solution.
One of the camera's is on my fish tank - the camera is located at http://74.62.193.106:1111 - This link will take you to the camera's web server.
There is also the admin viewer (which I would prefer to use) which is a windows app - But I have never tried to use a windows app on a windows mobile device and am not sure if this is even an option. One of the Canon viewers can be downloaded from one of my web pages - http://www.o2manyfish.com/camera.htm - there is a link on the bottom left to download the canon viewer software.
Thanks for you ideas, and thoughts.

OCR and camera dictionary

Dear friends,
I've been researching the area of using OCR (optical character recognition) in the field of Pocket PCs and Smartpones as basis for providing a camera dictionary.
I've stumbled over applications as
*) MediaSeek "Language Translations Via Camera Phone" application announcement, but wasn't able to verify if it is already in use
*) ABBYY Mobile OCR SDK 2.0
Just wanted to ring in and ask if you know any pocket pc applications using OCR ing?
Thanks for your help
kr Andrew
I tried using Worldcard Mobile (a commercial app) for business card OCR, but the camera on my Titan just doesn't get clear-enough resolution for macro photos... it wasn't able to recognize any of the text except the company names which are usually larger than the rest of the text.
Thanks skatsev,
This WorldCard Mobile is a very nice program - thanks for the hint - I've just tried it out and it works very well. I'm looking exactly for apps like these and am really amazed that there arn't more around....
kr Andrew
I rememebr there was one software for the SE P990 (Symbian operated) - find more here

I hope they will do similar to PPC
is there any other software than WorldCard Mobile?

HD2 as a Webcam?

Is it possible to use hd2 as a webcam?
I've tried two applications. Webcamera plus and Mobiola.
With Webcamera plus I've managed to display live picture on PC, but it kept blinking all the time and settings were pretty much useless. No changes were seen. It was working with Windows Messenger.
Mobiola was also working, but picture looked terrible on PC. I couldn't managed to get it work with Windows Messenger.
Does anyone have a proper solution?
Its a sad story.
Since a long time there are cams in mobile phones, but developers and coders are sleeping and not aware of the potential.
Your phone as a standalone webcam? Clearly a business need. But simply not possible until now. Its like a Porsche limited to 30 mph.
Skype on a pocket pc? Ok. But without videocall function
Since 2006 people are begging for videocall via skype. No chance even in 2010. Developers are simply not interested.

You have wlan and a cam on your device? Nice, but please use it one after another.
Perhaps in 10 years thereĀ“s a proper solution!
perhaps or perheaps today http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509981
Non of those applications mentioned work properly on HD2, still waiting for a solution.
