Has anyone got comments on the new BT Pacth from IMate? (attached)I want to know if people have applied it successfully to non-imate magicians, MDA, Qtek etc. Does it offer any other profiles or major improvements?
Is this even a bt patch?
I pulled it out of the Extended roms posted today, and on the club imate sit it said they had fixed BT. So this must be it?? comments
Had cross checked with the one that come with Qtek 1.06 ROM
The contents are the same, 8 files in total. All the 8 files with the same file size. Had tried the Qtek 1.06 ROM, so far I would say the Bluetooth is more stable than 1.03. Am currently using O2 mini.

Hi all I have just ordered a QTEK 2020 and am waiting eagerly for it...
At this point I have just one question: are software, drivers, applications, settings, roms and so on common for all of XDA II, MDAII, QTEK 2020, i-MATE and HTC? Should I look for specific QTEK 2020 software and drivers or is everything compatible? Are there specific QTEK 2020 ROMS or can I flash it with an XDA II rom for instance?
I'm asking this because there seems to be much more staff for XDA II and barely anything for the QTEK 2020.
Thanks.
Only had my Qtec 2 weeks, flashed the ROM to below, excellant I would recommend to anyone.
My new ROM details:Get this direct from QTEC http://www.qtek.nu/files/RUU172752WWE.zip
1.72.00WWE,
ROM date 03/15/04
Radio version 1.14.00
Protocol version 1337.24
ExtROM Version 1.66.130
History:My QTEC was a unlocked version from Expansys http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=108269, I use Orange, I used the info from thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=10866 specifically page 4-NPG (Thanks)
1. Get to bootloader (power+navi-key+reset)
2. Put device into cradle
2. Run update (the original from Qtek)
Took about 1 hour for whole process to complete! :?
I have seen a vast improvement in the general speed/stability for the device since ROM update, so i would recommend it.
I use TomTom 3.03 Navigator GPS software, with a TomTom Bluetooth reciever and a BlueTrek G2 headset at the same time no problem. I can even recieve calls while navigating!
With regards to Software you might want to look in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/FAQ for details of the differences between devices, mainly operating system ram etc.
Hope this helps you, this is the best all purpose gadjet I have ever had...
thanks gadjet, at least you're giving me the feeling that I haven't spent all that money for nothing. I have spent £399 on the qtek 2020, got it from expansys too, but unfortunately, i ordered it friday and on my order status they said that it's still at the central warehouse and I have to wait 3 more days for it to be shipped!! So I'll now have it on Wednesday or Thursday most probably!! One problem with the QTEK site is that it's all in Swedish or whatever language it is, and I don't understand anything other than Maltese, English, French and Italian :?
BTW, thanks especially for the link below gadjet, it basically says that apparently any software for any of the XDA II, MDA II, QTEK 2020 i-MATE and HIMALAYA are common, so if I don't find a spcific thing for the QTEK 2020 itself I may use one for the other brand names....

Glad to be of help
You won't be dissappointed when you do get it, it's a great pice of hardware..
These stacks I believe are newer than the Widcomm 1.5.0 series
I think Broadcom reset the version 1.0.0
These are Broadcom 1.0.0.3000 and Broadcom 1.0.0.3500
Build 3500 is slightly unstable but newer.
These came from an i-mate patch for a PDA2K.
DO NOT USE on an i-mate PDA2K (get the orginal unhacked ones from Club i-mate).
I removed files specific to that phone and basically left just the BlueTooth stack.
Recommend a HARD RESET before installing.
I've tested theses patches on a Sprint PPC-6601 (Blue Angle CDMA phone).
Do not do a restore of a backup before or after installing this because it may restore incompatible configuration files that may crash. Build 3100 is more robust against this problem.
Hey Bro
These two are for the Qtek 9090/Xda IIs or Xda II?
I am running 2.20CHS translated with Radio 1.18 and have been unable to get this stack to work. Has anyone tried it?
The ones I posted above are hacked by me to work on the CDMA version (Namely Sprint PPC-6601).
The ones referenced in this reply below are the original patches I started with that came from i-mate club. The offical phone name that the patches are for is "i-mate™ PDA2k" (GSM Slide out keyboard). I don't know how well they would work on the Qtek 9090.
Build 3500 http://www.blueridge.net/dereck/bt/PDA2k_Bluetooth_Fix.CAB
Build 3000 http://www.blueridge.net/dereck/bt/new/OEM_WWE_122_008.sa.CAB
Yes, good link but already bad quality with all bluetooth headset.
It's a shame.
It's a shame you don't give more details.
Which phone, which patch and what happened.
Works great on my phone.
I'm using the 3100 patch from the first post in this thread on a PPC-6601 with a HBH-300. Installed on top of a HARD RESET. That has Build 1.0.0.2200.
It's almost working perfect. Once in a great while if I go out of range for a long time I just toggle bluetooth and it reconnects immediately.
Dial Up Networking and Active Sync all work.
No static. No dropouts. Will go to sleep and wake up and still be connected.
I think that the "shame" was not for you but for imate as their patch don't solve all the issues. Maybe only a bad english ?
Tried on Himalaya_SE 2.06...
I'd merged the files from 2.02 and 2.06 and get a fairly stable handsfree, but I saw your files and got greedy...
hmmm, it didn't work though. The installation freeze at splash screen after i cold reset the device.
I believe that there are still device specific entries in the cab files, but it's beyond me at this moment. :?
yes sorry. Just bad english because i am french
This website is wonderfull and a lot of information
But i bought a qtek 9090 (850 euros) and i realize that they sell some device with a lot of bug
Here is my qtek config
qtek9090
Patch fr bt 3000 or 3500 (it's the same : they are bugs both for headset quality)
Windows mobile 2003 SE 4.21.1088 build 14132
rom 1.12.20 FRE
radio rom 1.02.00
ext rom 1.12.146 FRA
Ericson 300 works good but it's too big for me. I am not robocop
But each headset i have tested with bt 3000 and 3500 becomes bad when you stay more than 1 metter from your device. There is scrashesssssssssss in the headset. You have to stay front of the device (in car for exemple) and it works perfectly.
But when i work the pda stay in my bag or other place then quality is horrible
That's why i said it's a shame from imate.
I think there is a defect on this device. I don't know what can i do to increase the audio quality when you stay far from the PDA.
If somebody can help me ????????
But i can see that everybody have the same problem and can't solve it.
Waiting for another ROM. HIHIHIHIHIHIHI they are mad to sell this device like this.
If somebody can find bt 3500 patch from imate in french i am very interested.
Thanks to everybody from xda developer : a great site

Note that I attached to the first post of this thread Build 3500 release 124 of the i-mate patch stripped down for use on PPC-6601 and VZ6600.
BT problems
Just installed the 3500 fix.
It improves slightly on the Jabra 250, but not enough to actually use it.
It Stabilized the connection between my Holux GR230 GPS and the Qtek 9090.
Hope there will be a better fix.
Try to look at the connection, problem with the Jabra is that it fluktuate from just right to zero every other second.
Nice to pay 800 Euro for something that do not work
I've added new patches to this the start of this thread.
They work primarily on PPC-6601. Read the attached notes.
Hi mswlogo,
Can you help me if you know which version works on a win2003se translated from chinees on himalaya?
Thanks
That phone is quite different.
I think some other folks are working trying to get this stack working on other phones like yours.
Most of the patches above have registry scripts run in them that will very likely not work on your phone.
The other patches assume you are already running late version BroadComm Stack.
I have HP hx4700 and the Widcomm version is 1.5.0 Build 2000
which one is newest?
That's a really good question.
I'm amazed to see BroadComm on 1.5 instead of WidComm.
What are the dates on the bluetooth files \windows\bt*.*
They are generally around 12/9/2004
It's hard to say what BroadComm and the venders are doing here.
Bluetooth stack on h6315
I just found a new bluetooth stack from:
http://www.ppcw.net/?itemid=2210#cmt9543
Installed on my t-mobile h6315. Device was previously inoperable with bluetooth headset. Device would go into power standby mode, and if bluetooth was running when it went to sleep, it would freeze requiring a soft reset. Now device wakes on power button, with bluetooth running, as it's supposed to. Device also wakes on incoming call, reconnects headset in less than 1 second, and allows me to answer call on the headset buttons. All other headset functions are working as designed, and sound quality seems good. My headset is plantronics 2500. Also, this stack adds a profile in the list for A2DP (??) high quality stereo headphones. Don't have any of these headphones, so don't know if this works on the h6315. Also, don't know if this is the same Broadcom/Widcomm stack you guys have been working with.
Installation is straightforward - put it on the device and tap it. Reset, delete existing device pairings, re-establish the device pairings, and you're ready to test.
All that patch is supposed to do is add two new bt profiles to the pda2k.
* High-Quality Audio support (A2DP)
* Keyboard support (HID)
I'm slightly suprised you got a performance gain out of it.
h6315
It's definately fixed the problems with my device hanging when it goes into standby with bluetooth running and the headset connected.
Now my question is should I install the build 3500 for the 6315 listed above? It appears to be a newer release than this. Any thoughts as to the differences? I'm having a hard time following from the thread as to all the other changes that are in this .cab, and why they are there? Can any one help summarize that?
OK got a Himalaya and an Alpine (XDA branded) and my Himalaya is very happy now running WM2005 1.60a and the Alpine is running the O2 1.10 ROM.
I had forgotten how unstable WM2003se was compared to WM2005!
The phonepad keeps breaking, have to reinstall from cab files regularly, had to do this on the Himalaya too so it's not the particular ROM or anything I don't think.
Crashes, and lockups, corruption on the today screen that either require a soft reset or messing about changing today themes.
My problem is this, on the Himalaya running 2005, I have many apps installed to my SD card, which is fine, but when I need to use WiFi I need to unplug that to use the SDIO WLAN card, so I am unable to then use many of the programs installed.
Damn shame to let this Alpine gather dust, considering it has 128mb ram and rom, and could run 2005 so much better.
Are there any any newer English ROMs for the Alpine, or should I sit and wait with it boxed up until someone releases something else for it?
I was very annoyed at people working on 2005 for xda2 at the time as I believed that we would get grief from MS about it. It seems that, on the whole, that hasn't happened.
I got a 2i thinking that it would be the next upgrade, therefore when an even newer one comes along - ie Universal - I would be better placed to flog the 2i to pay for it. I'm almost starting to regret that decision as I would dearly love the have 2005 on my 2i...and if I had kept the xda2 I would have been enjoying 2005y goodness by now. Grrr!!
Bring on Universal that's what I say!!

where can us xda 2i owners find th imate rom!?
Yeah, I thought you had to enter your IMEI to access images on the i-mate site.
Have you got a direct link please?
Here!
Many thanks, getting it now
Alan,
I read your thread and have similar dislikes about me Alpine. I have an O2 XDAIIi.
How did your upgrade go?
I downloaded the ROM upgrade but haven't installed it. I am really green at this and not sure how/if I should back up the ROM I have in case I need to restore. Did you do that? Can you guide me on how?
If the ROM upgrade was successful, were you able to install 2005? Again, can you point me in the direction of that download, and instructions.
Greatly appreciated,
Kyle
Try this page, it's about the most up to date ROM for the 2i at the moment. I've had no problems with it at all.
Urm.. you didn't actually post a link?
I am using the i-mate one at the moment, too many people seem to be having problems with the O2 1.11 ROM
True
Sorry, blonde moment there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=25801
I reckon the problem with the new O2 ROM is the radio stack is still the original one. The radio stack on the ROM in the above link is the much better I-mate one with the updates of the O2 ROM.
Has anyone yet worked out if it is possible to enable A2DP in the new I-Mate ROM?
It has been suggested that comparing differences in the registry between the "test" rom and the "ship" rom may shed some light on this. Can any qtek "test" rom users help with this?
Another suggestion is to post the extended_rom from the qtek "test" rom. It may be possible to install the AKU2 update cab from this to overwrite the current settings. Anyone got the extended_rom from the qtek "test" rom which they can post?
TIA.
Is this a dumb question? Can anybody tell me whether the A2DP has been removed or disabled from the latest i-mate rom?
Cheers,
Shamus
removed...if u want u can try Q Tek ROM
Thanks for the reply...isn't the qtek AKU2 rom buggy? I have read many reports of lock-ups from people using this rom.
I am not sure if it is possible to downgrade from the new i-mate rom as it has re-enabled the cid lock. AWizard and lockwiz don't work with this new rom. Anyone managed to downgrade from the new i-mate rom?
Cheers,
Shamus.

aWizard works with the iMate ROM if you just want to unlock CID. It is not able to change the 2nd splash screen. I just used aWizard to unlock CID on my Qtek 9100 to replace the latest iMate ROM with the Qtek test ROM with A2DP.
Just got this new Bluetooth stereo headset yesterday, which comes with a BT transmitter for attaching to my iPod, and it's working great with the 9100. I am one happy fellow!

Do you hear any strange sounds while listening BT-stereo from your Qtek? I've read a few posts where people complain about some sort of whine noise that can easy be heard during pauses between songs... They say it's a Wizard hardware problem - the reason why HTC disabled A2DP in the final AKU2 firmware.
i had no whining problems with the test rom using a2dp, however what did happen every so often was the pitch would change for a few seconds, i asumed it was due to the cache, from what i had heard the a2dp creates a virtual music memory to transfer at its own speed.
i'm using it with my iphono mini 450 headphones.
no pitch problems or whine?noise. ( do you realy mean whine or white?)
I do hear a very slight hiss, but that must be the headphones cos i also hear that when its not connected. Probably radionoise.
For me the rom is also running stable so i don't understand why they took it out of the rom
The only problem i have is when i wear my phone in my pocket the sound sometimes stutters when i turn my head or place an arm in between etc.
But thats probably due to the fact that the headphones are 10meter class
Good afternoon,
Here I am looking for expert's advice. i just received this morning my new BT620s headset, paired it with my O2 Exec. My problem is that the only thing I can do is handsfree and not stereo headset. i'm quite surprised as I believed the Exec supported the AD2P profile. My Exec is updated to the latest ROM available on O2 website:
1.30.107 WWE, radio 1.09.00.
Can anyone help me ???
Is there any new roms that could add the profile ???
I'm quite desperate right now.
Philippe
The current o2 rom doesn't have A2DP
Search the forums for 'zoki ad2p hack' cab file, install this and do a soft reset and you should have the 'wireless stereo' profile
ROM ?
OK I'll try to find that !
You know I'm really a newby on PDAPhone stuff. I know a lot about PCs and MACs but PDAPhone is just really new.
I'vce been looking around the forum and seen new ROMS with new features but I'm a bit lost. Do you know what ROM I could upgrade my Exec to? I don't need the latest but one that would include A2DP and work 100% correctly.
