also forgot. the phone was bought from u.k. but its used in INDIA now. so should i get ASIA rom or the UK rom thx
Even tho the ROM and RSU look a bit old but as long as your device is working fine, don't try to mess up with ROM flashing till you get enough experience.
The ROM size is 64 MB in which 32 MB of them are used for the OS image. The extended ROM is 16 MB used for initial customization after hard reset (you will learn how to modify it soon) and other 16 MB used as additional storage ... the RAM is 128 MB as it says
ya but i cant sync via BT or IR. only with docking station it actisync. i dunno if my rom is working fine. it did kinda hang once. acc. to u the specs. i gave are normal huh ?
Hello!
I want to ask something!
I have Qtek 8020 (it's like SP3i) and it has wmp 9 on it.
I was wondering if i can have wmp 10 on my phone like
Audiovox SMT5600, dopod 565 and 575.
I' ve asked Qtek service in Greece and they said that they don't
know when they are going to release the firmware that has
wmp 10.
So, does anybody know if this is possible?
Maybe a hack on Qtek rom?
Thanks a lot!
Manos!
See the thread about this in the Blue Angel Upgrading section
also Qtek 8020 is not a pda it's a smartphone they cant use programs compiled for pda's as they use a different type of cpu
There are no ROM tools that work with smartphone ROM images. So you cannot cook ROMs yourself.
Hi there, I've just bought a Qtek S110 and I'm wondering about all the roms that are discussed here. Just a couple of questions, I'd be very happy if they could be answered.
- What is the latest rom for my Qtek S110 and where can I find it? I've looked for the Qtek homepage, but my Swedish isn't that good.
- Are the Radio and Bigstorage roms recommended? They sure sound good, but what versions do I need? I see so many on the FTP! I can't tell the difference or the version I need.
- Is there anything else that is important concerning roms that I need to do before using my lovely S110?
Thanks in advance for answering, I'd love to get the most out of this beauty .
Hehe, mine neither.
- I think the latest rom is 1.12 and radio is 1.12 too. At least that is on my S110 and that is brand new too.
- I'm not sure if I would mess with the BigStorage Rom, its not really neaded with 128MB RAM and I'm not sure it is works 100% on the S110 that is slightly diff when it comes to mem configuration
- I would do that softreset after hardreset trick to install the tools from the extrended ron you need and leave the rest out to save some RAM (not that you need to but why install crap?).
By the way, there is an english qtek page here: http://www.qtek.ch/IndexEN.htm
Thanks for your reply, I already seem to have the 1.12 roms, so that should be fine . With the trick when you softreset after the counter of the hardreset, no software is installed? So you have to do everything manually?
Another weird question, why does my S110 say I only have 8 MB of storage :O?
The storage is the internal ROM, you can store data here that will not be lost in case the battery runs out. it has 64MB of ROM, 8MB are free (rest is taken by OS). And it has 128MB of RAM, 121MB are useable here.
With the softreset after hardreset (do a hardreset, configure screen and time zone and click ok - right after that do a soft reset, be fast before the setup of the extended rom starts) you will have the normal WM2003SE PE ready for use but none of the programs form the extended rom are installed. You will find a new folder "extended rom" where all the cabs are stored, install only the ones you like. Most of them are provider branding, or pretty useless tools. You can get better from the inet. You can read about it here:

Thanks very much Private-Cowboy, that really helped me a lot!

Sasha,
Your T-mobile MDA II is the same as an HTC Himalaya (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya), not an HTC Magician. Ur in the right forum, though arguably you'd have been better to post your question in the WM5 Himalaya forum anyway....
There are a fair few WM5 ROMs for the Himalaya available, the latest of which is:-

Hi,
I would like to know the spec. of m2000 , I check in many site and it says m2000 ram = 64 Mb , I 'm not sure , is it enough for wm6 ?
Thanks in advance
M2000
Take it back to CE2003 and you can increase the size of the ROM. Look on the wiki for more info - follow the instructions for upgradign to wm6, you'll do that as part of the set up"
I have and SPV M2000 running WM6 and about 100 apps (installed to storage card) and it runs fine!
