Bluetooth Tools - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi all
I have installed Bluetooth Tools, and it is great, as it has allowed me to use my headset.
however my battery is now running very low!
Any ideas?

Ran into the same problem: installed BHT 1.1.0 a week ago, and had two events where battery was almost empty after one night, though it was fully loaded the evening before.
Anyone any clue why ?

problem with GSM and pocket bluetooth tools on QTEK2020

Since I installed pocket bluetooth tools on my QTEK2020, (I have a delay effect of 1 or 2 second when I answer to a call.
Is there any solution to avoid this disconfort
Installed Bluetooth tools 1.1.0 week ago, and have not experience the delay (I run 1.72).
But, I did have two events where in the morning almost all battery was empty, while I'm sure it was pretty fully loaded the evening before. Have you seen the same thing ?

D2 freezes at midnight

Hi,
Searching why my D2 is dead some mornings whereas the batteries are good on the evening, I found out that the D2 freezes at 23h55 - and that sort of deadlock consumes the batteries during the night.
It's now 3h20AM, I have put the screen on (D2 was in standby mode, screen being off) => it mentions 23h55, and it is frozen (no response either with the stylus or the buttons).
To what could that freeze at that very particular time could be linked to?
I must add that sometimes during the day the clock is desynchronized (10 minutes late for instance, as if the phone has entered a deadlock during 10 minutes and came back to life after...)
(I created this particular thread from the batteries problem one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4780101#post4780101
as this one is a very specific behaviour, not related to 3G or common optimizations regarding batteries).

it's scared of the midnight ghost hour so it stalls before it gets there?
seriously though, i would check/delete the alarm registries (and any other time based notification you can think of)
I remember people getting ghost alarms (which would often freeze their phones) in WM5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-242103.html)
good luck
I had the same problem, unfortunately only found a hard reset resolved the problem.
That's indeed what I've done 2 days ago, since then all runnin' fine (let's wait for 1 week to be sure, sometimes I hadn't any problem for an entire week).
I can't think of other suspects than RTremote and Galarm that were the only "sleeping" programs I had on my D2...
In the past I also saw my phone waking up at midnight, yesterday that wasn't the case.
Problem still there :-(
My phone froze Sunday evening at 23h54 (time still mentioned as it was after midnight).
This time the phone was charging, whereas being full the battery led remained orange (last times even no charging, the freeze occurred).
Only the power button was still working as previous times (to put the screen on/off).
My configuration is the following:
- Model: Touch Diamond2 T5353 (French Orange)
- ROM: 1.39.406.1 (49068) FRE (date 16/06/2009 - official 21/07/2009 HTC ROM)
- Radio version: 3.43.25.19
- Protocol version: 61.20t.25.10U
- SPL Olinex 1.83
- Lock on (code to be entered after 5min max to be enable to use the phone)
- No "dormant" application installed (as could be RTremote or Galarm)
- Applications installed: Resco Explorer (+plugings), Resco Audio recorder, Diamond Ati D3D drivers, Microsoft .NET CF 3.5, Marathon, LSD2008 Lite, GPS2Blue, ShakeAndSave, Hologram, TaskMgr, dwRuler, hdWobble, PowerRadio.
I can’t see what the source of the problem is… Any ideas?
Any similar behaviour on your phones?
Hello!
I had the same issue and realized that it was Galarm that "haunted" my Diamond 2 every night at around 23:58
As long as you don't have the above application, I would suggest a hard reset and then check D2 without installing any apps for the first night
Hello,
i have the same Problem as Markot. Only the Power-Button works. No timebased App is installed. The problem is in most cases the TD2 is connected to a charger, not only on midnight.
Bye MyPass
Hi all,
I think I got it!
Actually, to be more comprehensive with my "flashing history", I did first, some months ago, the ROM flashing with SPL Olinex 1.33 (HTC official WM 6.1).
Then I discovered "the bug" I described in this thread (and in another thread before, the battery leaks, finding my phone dead in the morning...)
Doing a hard reset did not change anything.
2 weeks ago, I decided to try the official HTC WM 6.5 release (I previously installed SPL 1.83 after having installed WM 6.1).
But not completely satisfied, I put back WM 6.1 WITH SPL 1.83 THIS TIME.
And it's working fine since then, no freeze anymore during 1,5 week.
So the problem was related to flashing WM 6.1 with SPL 1.33 - whereas when doing it with SPL 1.83, all runs like a charm.
Another clue is the blinking led on sms received (default behaviour): after flashing WM 6.1 with SPL 1.33, I have never seen it. After flashing WM 6.1 with SPL 1.83, the blinking appeared.
Cheers.
Guys,
If you are using Galarm, there is a register value "midnightwakeup", try to set it "false"
i made a hardreset and the problem was solved
i had this problem last night. as you expect i was very veri surprized. almost to be late for work. anyway, since i have bought the phone it did nothave such problem. This may be the problem "Setings tab->All Settings ->personal -> phone ->Time Zones Tab." i have remembered that i played with this particular setting last day. now i have disable it and we will see what will happen tonight.
look at yours TD2 and if this thing is checked, then unchecked it. it may help. At least wount harm
no problem so far, after unchecking this setting.

Diamond II Battery life

I recently upgraded to the Diamond 2 and I love the handset, but every other morning when wake up there is a msg saying opera performed a illegal operation and stopped working (or something similar ) or the battery has just run down during the night.
This morning I caught it just before it shut down, the power button switches the screen on and off, but nothing is updated (Time 0:12) And after reset the battery is a critical. I charged the handset at 15:00 yesterday.
Does anybody know if this is a known issue?
Well do you have turned Wifi or BT ON whole night?
What rom and radio are you using?
As I understand you left some programs in background running. Like opera. What else?
ROM version 2.17.421.1 (68613)
Radio 4.49.25.17
Opera never really closes. (want to use a cab file to disable it, but don't know if i should)
BT and WIFI not running.
I don't have any other applications running in the background that I am aware of. Haven't really installed anything. Except phone weaver. And GPS software
Well and how much power it has when You go to sleep?
If I charge at the morning I got battery sucked at the afternoon because I am using it as work tool.
But If I have 20% at the evening I got about 10% morning.
I use Energy Leo rom, radio same as You. At night I have only g-alarm in the background.

Stop Opera running in background:
Change:
HKLM\\Software\HTC\PushInternetEngine\Enable
1--->0
Use TD2 tools 3, go to Performance Tab, disable push internet. It will prevent Opera to activate, but also will stop updating internet pages if you have select these options. This will keep your battery alive longer also.

Terrible Battery Life, battery says bluetooth is to blame

Recently ( Since the marshmallow update) I've been getting just absolutely horrendous battery life. I'm talking around 6 hours. Which is just unreal! I've had the phone for about a year and half and I find this ridiculous. Going through the settings/battery panel it says bluetooth has been taking up ~50% of the battery but that makes no sense since it did not do such before the update.
This is just so frustrating because it's such a great phone. Maybe I just need to replace the battery but who knows. Any insight would be absolutely amazing!
It seems to me that several apps can be the cause of this issue (bluesleep wake lock). I experience it since I updated my Note4 to DBT 6.0.1 PDA N910FXXS1DPG1, CSC N910FOXA1DPE1, Phone N910FXXU1DPB1. I disabled almost every app that has Bluetooth access, still bluetooth hinders the phone from deep sleep. Very annoying since I also wiped completely and reinstalled the image. Only solution so far is to disable BT. Will roll back to DPE6 or DPE1 soon, but am concerned because of missing security updates in that case (rooted).
See also this N6 thread.
So I reinstalled DPE6 and experience the issue right after booting and installing TWRP/SuperSU, with only Better Battery Stats installed. Could it be hardware related? I remember having this issue for the first time a week ago or so, without any new app being installed or other change made to the system.

[RESEARCH] Mobile network standby drain (Oreo)

Since the first release of oreo I started using the rom as a daily driver, later on paired with a good kernel it had some good perfomance
But after some days of using the rom i started to notice a huge battery drain caused by the Mobile network standby process?
My battery was old (OEM 2014 battery) so i decided to revert back to lineageOS just after a couple of days where I haven't had any issues with that mobile network standby
Now I'm really curious what is causing this issue, drain because I am using the phone on the same settings as on 7.1 nougat, I am living in a country where all networks run on 3G,H+,2G etc. so no 4G if this can be a cause
Changed the network modes many times and tested throughout the days but there was no sucess the drain was still persist, tried updating, downgrading bootloaders swithing modems but again no sucess
If there, in the world of android is any solution, here is the thread to discuss about this issue. :fingers-crossed:
I've wondered this too. I've been running los15 on my g900v , I rooted and boot the first ROM that would work without having or remembering todomuch, I ran the first custom kernal I could find via google, and ran whatever was noted as the latest Verizon modems. its like right off the bat, smooth , consistent battery life and nice. Then the next day I noticed things would crash, my Bt temperamental at best and restarted it just to get by. if I have sync on at home, WiFi off, it just chills , if I turn sync off and drive around town, my battery life gets eaten by the unknown. I pulled some logs to see whats up with my BT but haven't got around to it yet. But my battery too is old (I literally found my s5 in the trash) and I run weird processes and tweak settings all the time just to mess with it, so that could be it to. If I see anything weird I'll let you know.
I'm struggling with this issue for months, since the first port of an Oreo custom ROM (LOS and RR) for the Galaxy A3 Duos (my device) started being developed.
From the beginning I had this problem, and what, since then, puzzles me the most is the fact that only some of us, flashing the same ROM in the same device, experience the issue. Whenever I flash any of those ROMs, even before installing any user apps (or when running in safe mode), the drain is there, which leads me to think that the culprit must be some setting: not an app, because I have none installed; not the ROM itself, because not everybody has this problem.
Unfortunately there seems to be no developers looking into this bug.
For the sake of information, I've observed two things that should help to narrow down the issue; or maybe not.
First, all the devices affected, as far as I've searched, are double SIM.
Second, the Mobile Network Standby (MNS from now on) drain is narrowy connected with the Bluetooth drain (which "also" occurs in Oreo). I've experienced the following: If, after a full charge, I don't switch on Bluetooth at all, then what drains my battery (according to Advanced Battery Usage information) is MNS. However, if I switch bluetooth on -even if only for one minute- then what apparentlyh drains my battery is Bluetooth, at the same speed as MNS did before switching bluetooth on.
Funny enough, the battery use info reports zero minutes activity for both Bluetooth and MNS. But how can a process which runs zero minutes drain 50% of the battery?? I'm afraid that the battery use information isn't reliable. But then that's very bad news, since, in such case, it might well happen that the real juice sucker is neither MNS nor Bluetooth!! We might be dealing with a "ghost" here, since we can't even trust the battery use information provided by the OS.
If someone has something with which to contribute to this research, or any ideas, please comment.
I'm having the same trouble on android 9 betas, even better, my phone gets without signal during those times and there's nothing I could do but rebooting the phone.
How can we help solve this? it looks like it's annoying a lot of people now
