nokia 6230 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

does anybody know any good site for nokia 6230 games and applications

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sour...-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-10,GGLD:en&q=6230+games
Though this is a forum for the XDA series of phones.
Cheers
Anthony

*Sigh*
Why did they enable posting without login in?!
This is a forum for units made by HTC.
Nokia 6230 has NOTHING to do with this site..
Your post MIGHT have been justified if posted under "Anything but"..
And to answer your post:
You can find lots of games and other software for 6230 and other phones here!

right sorry thanks for help anyway

Good work...and...
Hi Buzz,
I'm been away from the forum for a good few months and I'm very pleasantly surprise by your excellent work.
In fact, after reading through the few threads on WM2005, I'm now the proud owner of a revitalised XDA2 with WM2005 v1.60a installed.
The only pet peeve I have is that Maction Monster Chinese and the likes don't installed well on the system anymore. I've a geniune need to read Chinese on my PDA phone, and I can't do it anymore with WM2005.
One approach I can take is to be patient, and another approach I can take is to ask you for a favour to join some other top brains here to figure out a good solution.
Obviously, there are mixed reports that certain patch like fontpatch.CAB, chinapatch.cab works for previous v1.50x versions. It would be some registry tweaks, or memory allocation issue, which your expertise would be sorely needed.
Cheers,
Henry

I saw Asukai thread on wince.nls. Great job there as well. I've tested it, and concur with AzN_devil that the Chinese-specific region settings cannot be seen in the Region Settings window for v1.60a. He claims that it works on v1.50h though, i think.
Nevertheless, I made some more tests and I can read Chinese display text on Word Mobile. Unfortunately, Chinese e-books still come out with gibberish text.
If you can shed some light on this mystery, I am sure the community continues to owe you yet another big favour.

Is i-mate PDAL in this catalog?

hi
I get my i-mate PDAL last sunday, and upgrade it to wm6.
can anyone tell me my pdal is in Prophet catalog?
thanks.
No it is definitely not a prophet. (Just look at the picture next to this forum on the forums list)
In fact a quick look on pdadb.net reveals that it is not an HTC phone.
So please do not try to upgrade it using any ROMs for the Prophet because you will destroy your phone!
thank you first.
but i look for whole this forum ,and can't found any catalog like i-mate pdal. so, if i want to upgrade/change my wm6, where can i join?
As I wrote before - i-mate PDA-L is not made by HTC!
This forum deals with HTC phones, though sometimes discussion of other WM based devices like iPaq takes place in general forum.
So there is not and won't be a catalog for your device (sorry we can't open a sub forum for every phone out there).
I have not seen any such discussion on PDA-L and as far as I know no one is cooking ROMs for it.
You are welcome to ask in general forum and perhaps someone will give you more information then I can.
I'm so sorry that i don't know this forum is just talk about HTC machine.
I'll go to general forum for some answer what i need.
thank you again.

Is the IPAQ 910-12-14 manufactured by HTC?

I ask, because seeing this forum, is the first time I've seen that mentioned.
In another forum (not XDA-dev) I saw the manufacturer listed as Inventec.
And in an HP IPAQ forum. someone asked if the HTC mini-USB to 3.5 or 2.5 audio adapters would work on the IPAQ 910. Someone else answered "no", saying that the HTC mini-USB ports are eleven pin, while the one on this IPAQ is ten pin.
If the phone were made by HTC, I would think that they would use the same kind of mini-USB port, as on their other phones.
Is it known for sure, that the IPAQ 910 was manufactured by HTC?
Has anyone here tried one of the mini-USB audio adapters made for HTC, on their IPAQ 910? If so, how well did it work?
HTC chargers seem to work.
Thanks for your feedback.
no it is not made by HTC.
for audio adapter , see here

Why is it listed here then, under "Other HTC manufactured phones-Sable"?
So, do you agree with those who say that the mini-USB audio adapters made for HTC phones, will not work well with the IPAQ 910?
It's OK to use the same chargers and sync cables though, no? They seem to work--I hope not harming the phone in some way.
because we don't have other better place to meet & group the threads together haha, so people just just post here for any HP IPAQ i suppose
anyway adapter made for HTC won't work on 91x because the pin-layout is different for audio.
It is ok to use the same cable for charge and sync because the charge and data transfer is a common standard in mini-usb. No audio is defined in the standard so manufacturer define their own-standard
Thanks for the info.
It is weird then, that manufacturers make their own proprietary headphone port, and then do not even make an adapter for it.
Shame on HP for doing so! (At least HTC makes an adapter for theirs, including one that has another mini-USB for charging, and a 2.5 and 3.5 headphone ports.)
-----------
Ha Ha. So the "HTC Sable" is a non-existent phone, an imaginary HTC phone, to list non-HTC phones under, so that the board admins don't know that people are discussing a (GASP!) non-HTC phone on their HTC-only board?
Oops, I hope they don't read this thread!
----------------------------------------------
By the way, Keyx, since you seem to be very technically knowledgeable, if you have a chance, please take a look at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3619813&posted=1#post3619813
and let me know, if you have any insight into the question.
If I had known about this board, I might have posted it here. Not knowing, I posted it in the general WinMo board.
-
HTC Sable exist and made by HTC, it is one of the older IPAQ model, i forgot the model number though
EDITED: look at the text under the main title of this subforum: Also known as HP iPAQ hw69xx (hw6915 / hw6925 / hw6945 / hw6965 / hw6910 / hw6920 / hw6940)
Traditionally a few IPAQ were made by HTC but not 61x/91x this time
I don't have a data plan now so can't really look into DUN issue..may be a few weeks after i can, definitely not now though

There is an IPAQ 910/912/914 forum there now, but zero posts there yet. I guess people are reluctant to post, if they think no one will read and respond there.
Someone has to start posting there........
I used to work on the HTC Juno (T-Mobile Shadow) in the Smartphone General section of xda-developers, and after a year or so they finally gave us our own sub-forum. They may eventually do the same here. You're right that there's a bit of an HTC-only vibe with the way the forum is organized, but certainly I've seen Toshiba and Samsung-manufacturered device ROMs around here too.
The benefits of staying with xda-developers are clear: we use the same tools and methods that are used for HTC devices. Not to mention that despite the new iPAQs having a different manufacturer, they share much of the same kinds of underlying hardware (i.e. Qualcomm chipset, ARM processor). Those who own an HP 61x or a 91x are likely to have owned an HTC device in the past and may own an HTC device in the future. It is nice for us to stay with the same community
The big irony, of course, is that we've seen far more progress on xda-developers for the 61x and the 91x than we have for the (older and uglier) iPAQ h6300, which was actually made by HTC. Just ask brewhoxs - he'll tell you all about how there's no custom ROM developed for that device at all
Maybe rather than jumping to other forums we should put the pressure on xda-devs moderators to give us a sub-forum of our own.

Well that's the problem .. the guys at WinMoDev made an agreement with XDA to keep out each others fishingpond. XDA for HTC-phones and WinMoDev for other. Although I must agree I haven't seen much life on WinMo, the forum being many times down for some reason.
So wether we keep 'hiding' in the Sable-forum, or move over depends on the posters and on the readers, of course.
Just my 2c

Really? This is the first I've heard of such a mutual no-compete agreement between the voluntary operators of two free forums.
Interesting. Not to toot anyone's horn, but we'd probably get a successful one-shot transition if keyx, sergiorus, ke_steve_le, Montecristo and myself all moved at the same time.
And maybe we should? Except winmodevelopers.co.cc says they are moving to new phpbb forums that will be at winmodevs.com. Plus when I visit the existing site it tries to install an unknown ActiveX control. Not cool!
Haha we should shop around wmexperts.com and ppcgeeks.com for competing trade offers

Hi,
Here's the topic in which Jay mentionned it ... The forum is still on the original *.forumer.com, so indeed rather confusing.
I use Firefox, no ActiveX seen or heared
Dirk
hey guys
im sorry to see you have had isues with the forum
at one point there was a very confusing time as we were gonna move to another brand of forum but that fell through, as for the downtime that was due to us perfecting the forum
one change that was implemented though as we have taken away all of the device forums this was mainly due to fatc that more and more device makers are bringing out winmo phones this makes it very hard for me and the other admins to keep track of
also we needed a place for non htc android devices to go
HOWEVER
the forum is up and running if you fancy moving there now
http://winmodevs.com
all the non htc devices are still welcome
also just to note the only reason there isnt a lot of posts is because if people dont se others helpoing they wont post so basically i need you devvers to get all you stuff moved over and theyll be a who load of new posters

Need advice: other similar forum like xda for Samsung WinMo devices?

Hello guys
I know its the wrong forum, but I own a blackstone, so this is my home to me I want to ask you if there's a similar forum like this one for the Samsung devices. Cause I saw the Omnia II and I'm very, very interested in it, its a beautiful device for me, it supports native divx and has AMOELD. So, I'm highly impressed. My problem is, that I absolutely love this forum, only with xda is my blackstone how it is.. And I fear that there is nothing similar for Samsung.. Is there any ROM-cooking? Is there such an support? Customizing? Development? If thats not there, I have a serious problem and I think I'll stay with my blackstone. So now the real, final question: is there anything similar for the Omnia devices? Thanks a lot for your answers!! And sorry for posting stuff about other brands but HTC Anyway, HTC rocks!
Greets, cad^^

XPERIA X2 Subforum or New Set of Forums?

Hey everyone,
We're getting a lot of people asking us to make an X2 set of forums (to include general, ROM development, accessories, themes and apps). Alternatively, we could just simply back a sub forum under the X1 heading for the X2. We're learning towards the second option, but please, give your insights in this poll.
Its a different device so it sould really have its own forum otherwise its going to confuse people
i agree, on any form, due to the fact that x2 posts are mixed with x1 posts and it takes longer to find certain info regarding the x1 with so many x2 posts
We need x2 set of forums
We're asking to make an X2 set of forums (to include general, ROM development, accessories, themes and apps).we need that very badly.more X2 Out to market ,more trouble we get, please do it,make an X2 set of forum.Thank.
x2
we need new forum section
new forum for x2 that would be great and less comfusion
"themes and apps" i think will be the same as x1...
just few apps with accelerometer or tvout....
What ever, as long X2 got a "place" by it self. it's so easy to mix up if you read about X1 or X2 the way it is today.

Set of forums!
Themes are different, some apps too,
some work on 6.1 and not 6.5 and vice versa.
I really think it should have its own forum as well Personally, I spend a lot of time reading up on both the X1 and X2, so it can often get confusing to differentiate between the two when people make posts And besides, this forum is for the X1, so all posts should be for the X1...
There are also plenty of awesome X2 help threads, informative problem threads and ways to make life easier with the phone, but they're mixed up in this forum and you can lose track of them If the X2 had its own forum, it would be nicer to sticky some of those threads (like the Solution "Must Have For X2 Owners" thread, that one is brilliant! Great work people )
A new forum would be awesome, thanks
I too prefer a seperate section for each of the two devices.

Exactly how I feel
Hi, I don't have an X2. I used to have an X1. Don't have it anymore.
But I think X2 should have its own forum.
I think a single forum for the X2 would be great.
There doesn't seem to be enough interest and traffic in the X2 to create a full set of forums for it, though, so a single forum would suffice? Distinguishing it from the X1 is pretty necessary too, since they are seperate and unique devices.
its a good idea to create another forum as its getting out of hand hard to found x2 topics.. i see there two HD2's so why not xperia

Neither are the Acer, Samsung, or Toshiba phones that all now have their own forums. I say full set of X2 forums. Like others said it'll be confusing to have an X2 subforum under the X1 forum. Besides a full set of X2 forums should help
Yes, please!
... A full set of forums for the X2 would be neede ASAP! It's already confusing to find the correct threads for the X2!
Also add a separate forum for sticky-stuff. Now on the X1 forum you have a whole screen full of sticy-threads!

gr8, same opinion here
I have plans regarding that, especially for X1 (and also for X2 should it be created), just gimme some time for the cleanup
best
We're adding a full set of forums today for the X2 =D.
