I tested NVD for a while and I must say that it works well, never found any relevant bug.
While there are some in the SRS application, at the moment.
So, if you have some spare time to spend you can try srs, moreover it is free.
While NVD, from my point of view, is a bit more "install & go", but surely not cheap.
IMHO
I use NVD on the XDAII (make sure you get the latest version as there were issues with PPC2003).
It has an advantage over straightforward screen rotation in that it can also scale the display - I often use Terminal Services in 480x360 landscape, and it's pretty readable..
Turn Your PPC WM 2003 Device Into Landscape Mode
Here if ya need it, turn on your PPC WM 2003 device into landscape mode. Tested on my old hp iPAQ h6365, work great !
Tested on my 818pro and working well. But little bit slow. My friend use Wizard also work fine.
Extract the file, you have 2 cab file.
The first one with name 1_o2p202200106_wm5s.cab
The second one with name 2_O2Plus.v2.0.Patch.cab
Copy those 2 files to your device.
1. Run the first one, do not soft reset
2. then install the second one
3. Soft reset
Enjoy
what does exactly o2PLUS include (is it their SMS plus or dialling thing or what?) In case it is say SMS, does it REPLACE original apps?
too bad it isn't vga
Can you upload the other stuff also :
O2 SMS Plus ,O2 MediaPlus ,O2 Setup Wizard,O2 Self Diagnostic ,FM Radio ?

SMSPlus has been posted here before. Here:
'O2 Plus can work on WM5.0 PDA' can someone tell me what this program is for and how good is it?
Is the o2 Active User Interface asian version...o2 AUI is slowing the device but this o2 Plus is something that is ... just something that i wouldn't want on my device ... poor design too much space ocuppied on the screen (not to talk about the flickering) not very intuitive ... and not to be modest but even a rookie can make this plugins in max a week.
This is my first impression on o2 XDA Exec running on latest WWE RUU.
I'm only interested in the other apps of the package related to radio, music player , equalizer - they look nice in the snapshot on their seeo2 website.

I would love to find the O2 Media Plus. Anyone have that?
O2 Phone Plus
Does any one manage to get the O2 Phone Plus working on the 818 pro
recently the Eten M600 team came out with a ROM upgrade that allows for the PDA to utilize the phone speakers when using Skype. The user uses the PDA as a normal phone to make Skype calls without the use of headset or external speakers (where everyone around you can hear what the conversation is about).
Is such a hack possible with the HTC Universal? It would be really cool if we could use our PDA as a normal phone when talkin on Skype instead of relying on accessories if we do not want to use the speakerphone.
or am i just dreaming and if i wanted to, i would have to switch to the m600?

You can use the Universal as a normal phone when talking on Skype. It doesn't need any hacking or tampering. It never even occurred to me to plug the headset in before using Skype.
well for me when i use skype, the sound comes out from the main speakers and not the phone speaker which is what i want to. any ideas?
Bizarre!
You using the latest version?
yeah i am using the latest Skype which was released on Feb 14th. and my HTC Universal is loaded with the latest Qtek ROM which supports A2DP and Push-Mail.
Basically the sound comes out from the main speakers which are located on the same side as the volume slider, IR port and a few other buttons.
I would like to direct the sound to the speaker which I use when I talk on the phone on a normal phone conversation and without any accessories such as headset or BT headset.
Are you sayin that your sound comes from the phone speaker and not the main speakers?

Yes; when I use Skype on the Universal I use it in exactly the same way I would make a normal call i.e. by holding the phone to my ear like any other phone. The sound comes out of the speaker on the lid of the universal, not from the stereo speakers on the edge.
I'm using the latest ROM (Orange), the latest radio ROM and a combination of iMate and Orange Extended ROMs.
I am experiencing the same problem. I have the latest QTEK ROM and installed the latest version of Skype (2.0). When I make a Skype call the sound gets routed through the main speaker and not the telephone speaker. Also, when I try to connect my bluetooth headset Microsoft Voice Command gets activated and disconnects my bluetooth hands free connection after not recognizing the voice tag.
Well, the only thing that leaps off the page at me is the fact that you're both using the Qtek ROM whilst I'm using the Orange one. Could that be it, d'you think?
that could be one reason but i am not really keen at doin a full hard reset just to test it out. wonder what's the difference in ROM between the Qtek and Orange.
by the way, does your Orange ROM come with Skype pre-installed? or did you install it yourself?
Er...off the top of my head, I think I installed it myself.
hmm thats weird considerin that you are on the latest orange ROM because there are people with the same orange ROM who have sounds coming out from the main speakers and not the phone ones.
Another thought, though I can't imagine it'd make a difference, is that I only use Skype over a WiFi connectio, not GPRS.
i am also using SKYPE over a WIFI connection but it still comes out of main speakers. and even when I use 3G/GPRS, it comes out of the main speakers too. could you list out the programs you installed?

I think this is a known SKYPE mobile software issue and according to the SKYPE forum they are working to resolve this issue in their next release software.

i noticed your tomtom installation and i think you're using tomtom5.0 right? you mean you managed to get it to work with your universal? i only managed to get 5.21 to work with it.
No, I'm also running 5.21.
i see. thanks for the info.
well i went over to skype website and their developers said that the next release of skype will solve the sound coming out from main speakers problem.
hopefully that fix comes soon.
I have just purchased Dopod 838 pro. It is a nice piece of hardware (handy buttons, screen size, mine doesn't have the screen alignment problem). But I miss all the software that are nicely integrated in my Atom Exec.
For example,
IDD prefix (integrated in PhonePad)
Calling Card (integrated in PhonePad)
Call forwarding profile (with Today's plugin)
Sound profile (with Today's plugin)
Blocklist
I tried to install O2 Phone Plus from the CAB. It seems that it only works for Atom Exec.
I am willing to pay. But I can't even find those apps on online shopping websites. Of course, I already paid for them when I purchased my Exec. I wouldn't mind re-using them in my 838 Pro if some WM5 guru show me how to "copy" them.
Thx in advance.
Yeah, rather disappointing how little software comes with the Dopod and HTC versions of the retail phone... In the case of the HTC box you get absolutely NOTHING. Not a single piece of additional software...
I think I've got an atom dump already, but if you're prepared to post a rom dump from your atom, we'll get to work on it.
Not sure if this works, but try it out:

I think some files are in the extended_rom
1) Unlock and mount extedend_rom (fit4cat tweaker does http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=1614 )
2) Copy on your PC all files
3)Zip and name the archive dopod_838_extended_rom.zip
4) Copy an paste the line below in any windows explore windows
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/
5) Drag and drop here the zip file
TNX
Thx for your help!
I checked wiki, my rom is exactly the same as "DUMPED English ROM from Dopod 838 Pro WWE".
Hi sergiopi,
No luck with "fit4cat tweaker". It keeps crashing when I tried to execute the app after installation. Sorry.
Thx,
mini
A lot of Windows Mobile users have been asking for answering machines for years. While it has long been available on competing mobile smartphone platforms (for example, Smart Answer for the S60), for Windows Mobile, so far, there wasn't a generic one - that is, one that wasn't shipped along with a specific Pocket PC model only.
Now, this seems to be changing: the first "real" answering machine has been released for WM Pocket PC's.
iSecretary is one really nice working answering machine for Your Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
Features:
- Lifts the handset automatically when the preset time expires.
- Plays the file to the caller.
- Records your caller's message within the limits of preset time and hangs up.
- Contact list filter (choose an individual wav for each contact or group of contacts).
- Ignore list.
- Compatible with speakerphone (for PDA which can not work with signal in line).
- Autoload after SoftReset.
- Speakerphone volume control.
- Microphone control (its work with some PDA, For example: ASUS P525).
- Black list, reject ringing (filtering by phone number).
- Notify system.
- Task bar icon.
- Events system, send sms or voice message by rules.
- Emulate sound around you.
Found this on:
http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/isecretary.shtml
Before everyone starts asking this is from the site... I wish my device worked. (TyTN)
Tested devices on this moment (fully support):
ASUS P525, DOPOD M700, ASUS P535, ASUS P735, HTC Wizard, HTC Touch, I-Mate Jam, Rover E5, I-MATE JASJAR, Eten M600+, E-TEN G500, Toshiba Portege g900.
Tested devices on this moment (half support, outgoing message problem or some other problems):
E-TEN X500, ASUS P526, E-TEN M700, HTC TYNT, TYNTII, Vario 3, Universal, Vario 2, Orbit, Kaiser.
Thank u very much, works fine
does this means that now we have a way to record calls? It was the same problem, and now its fixed!
COOL!
turns off
isecretary turn off when we keep it on standby or power off mode...
ne solutions????
So doesn't work on the mogul?
iSecretary
I dont like it because of the hardware issues with not be able to record without speaker phone, plus this is useless if you have no signal, or turn off your phone.
The alternative that does private/unkown blocking, and allows custom messages for any caller you choose is http://www.youmail.com/.
I started using it last night with my ATT Tilt, and it integrated flawlessly with my service, I can't even tell I'm not using the default service (except that its much cooler).
As far as quick dumping calls it helps to get a firewall, seen a couple free ones around xda that look good, but since I already have spb phonesuite I just use th blacklist built into it.
Tried the latest version 4.6 on BlackStone. It did take the call. However got no greeting message. Still I continued to speak. But i didn't record (no wav file was saved).
I think recording should now be very much possible with running ICR in the background if not possible to code a custom recorder. Hopefully they can fix this.
ohh please wake up al!!
Dear al!!!
Before you try this soft. and start asking questions,I can tell u I have more win mobile handsetts, and not even the above mentioned phones are ok for this software. No flowless working yet.
I think the 4.4 version is lower than the 4.6!Even this latest works exact like S>H>I>T!Unfortunatly.
So hear my request LORD of h.a.c.k.s...Please someone who understand this winmo programms, build finally and for all a nice answering machine. On nokia the guys are already set wit the nice app.
Why we still have a lot of useless program, but no such as this what helps for sure more than hundreds of users????
thank you in the name of suffering Bill Gates haters! helios
Hi,
v4.4 is old, lock here: http://www.isecretary.net/download.php

isecretary is a good application but i am looking for a specific feature. I want the application to route calls at a specific time to answering machine and accept only calls from white list.
lets say after 12 night, i want calls to be accepted in white list while all other calls go into answering machine without even a single ring
those this do any extra charges on the phone??
Why iSecretary can’t mute the microphone of my xperia x1 and why the caller can’t hear my answer message
How can I fix this using registry or any tweak tool for windows mobile 6.1
thanks
