Help !!! Problems unlocking SX56 - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

O.K. I am new to this and have read many threads, and I still need help!!! I have a Wallaby ROM version A.30.09, Radio Version A.33.02. I bought this off of E-Bay and it is supposed to be Unlocked. Of course the original SIM card was from AT&T. I am trying to use my Rogers AT&T card and I keep on getting the message "Please input unlock code SID:"
I first used the XDAunlock program on my first Rogers Sim card and after many attempts using it, I was able to get the SIM card to work and I could make calls and receive them. The second day that it was working, I had to do a soft reset and then it asked for the unlock code again. Anyway I supposedly cooked that SIM card and Rogers supplied me with another. Now I cannot use the phone again.
I have downloaded the XDA special edition ROM, but I cannot get this program to work, it will run and when my Wallaby is Sync'd using the cradle, the program keeps telling me that the power is not supplied to it.
I recently bought a serial cable for this thing and I have run the XDA manipulator program and it says that it does not have a SID lock.
I have tried to find just the Special Edition ROM to add onto my SD card, but I cannot find just that program.
Any advice would be grateful !!!

If the phone was unlocked to rogers when you used it previously then it will still be unlocked. Is it definitely now asking for sid code and not the sim security code for your rogers sim?

It is definitely asking for a SID unlock code. Everytime I try to turn flightmode off it asks me for the code.

did you make sure that ur xda is fully charged 100%? that might be why it says its low on power

Power seems to be another one of my problems...I check the status of the battery while it is plugged into the cradle and it says:
Battery power remaining: Unknown
When I take it off the cradle and do a soft reset, then it tells me that the power is 100%.
The battery light never comes on though. And if it does then the phone works. I wonder if this is a battery problem !!!

Found that my battery was not the problem, it was the charger going from the wall to the cradle. It was charging the battery, but not enough. the one that was supplied for my Siemens SX56 docking station was a Nokia charger only putting out 3.5v. I found another charger I had laying around that put out 4.5v. As soon as I hooked it up, my battery light instantly came on. So I ran the XDA special edition software, and it worked great. I can now use my phone.
AWESOME PROGRAM !!!!!
I LOVE IT!!!

major spv m700 problems

Hey guys.
I am having huge problems with my spv m700. Nothing will install on it (I've just loaded tom tom onto the sd card and it just does the installation little plingy noise and then nothing).
It won't even recognise there being a sim card in the slot when I put my dutch simcard in it. I have repeatedly auto and manually used the unlock program available here somewhere to absolutely no avail.
I'm getting to the end of my tether with the thing and am considering keeping my spv m2000 as that hasn't been any hassle at all since I've had that.
Is it my simcard is somehow not the correct standard for the M700? works fine in my m2000. And why would the phone not install tom tom?
i have not had any problems with my m700, looks like you have problem with your phone (that is what i think), try to exchange it, explain what is wrong to the orange.
hh
Did you buy it from Orange? If so, they should have supplied a new SIM card.
Your old M2000 SIM probably won't work in the M700, because the M700 is a 3G phone, and needs a USIM card, which has extra circuitry on it. A USIM will work fine on your old phone, so you could just ask Orange for a replacement SIM card.
Your SD card issues are something different- have you tried a different SD card in the M700, or the existing SD card in a PC card reader? This may narrow things down a bit.
OK I am thinking the problem must lie with the sim card itself. No I didn't purchase the phone from orange. I have an orange payg simcard and that registers no problems on orange NL. The UK based O2 card I have is recognised as a simcard but won't register on a network in holland. My mates new telefort simcard also won't register on a network but a 10 year old dutch sim card from my other mate works perfectly. Each time I swapped out sims I re-checked mine only to still find it completely unrecognised.
Update on Tom Tom. The version I have been trying to instal is tom tom 5 which this phone it appears doesn't like. The tom tom 5 navigator will not go past the maze page at initial instal. If I instal tom tom 5 mobile that works but it won't accept screen inputs and out of all the phone keys only 2 work so its un-navigable. I am waiting for delivery of a 4gb mini sd card now as my 512kb one isn't big enough for even the simplest of tom tom 6 installations.
I sold my spv m2000 today and maybe think I will regret that move. Especially as the guy thats bought it thinks he can install windows mobile 5 on it which was my main reason for moving phones along with thinking that the tom tom software I have would work.
TomTom Navigator 5 will work on the P3600, but as with all WM5/WM6 installations, is a real pain to acheive. There are some tutorials on our website (see sig)
TomTom Mobile is for Smartphones, so won't work on PPC devices.
SIM cards: you need to get a USIM update from Orange (unless of course the M700 has been blocked for some reason?). You should also SIM unlock your M700, if it hasn't been already- all SPV Orange models are SIM locked to the Orange network.

Once your M700 works fine you will praise the day that you bought it. I've got it for almost a year now and it is the best PDA ever. I've now got it running on mun_RUs WM6 and it keeps getting better and better. HTC will have to come up with a pretty good replacement before I switch to another one.

Yeah I ran the unlock program on the phone. It says its unlocked but I don't think it is. I managed to get tom tom 5 to install by going into the 2577 folder and activating the files in there one by one and now tom tom works for me.
I have since returned to the UK. The UK orange simcard that would connect to orange NL will now not connect to orange UK. My O2 simcard will not connect to any network either. I will re-download the unlock file and re-unzip it in case I have a problem there and then re-use it. I am following the tutorial on the thread is there anything missing from the instructions? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293957 I must be doing something wrong as loads of other people are getting good results with this program. How do I know if my simcard is a USIM?
I think the USIM issues is a red herring- unless you have a VERY old SIM then it should work with the handset- this is according to Vodafone.
This may sound really stupid, but are you sure you put the SIM in the right way round?
The first time I tried my Voda SIM with my unlocked Orange M700 it said "No SIM". I think I may have had it upside down....as later it just started working OK.
Yeah already thought of that. Thing is the lebara network card that isn't even recognised as being in the phone looks physically different to the other sims that are recognised. The only card that will log onto a network is the UK orange one which is now logging on and working(I had a netwrok setting wrong). The O2 sim keeps coming up with denied, searching. In manual network selection it also denies service and comes up with no service.
In short there are a couple of things I am unsure of. I've run it in manual as well.
1. Transfer SSPL/SSPL-TRIN.exe to your phone and run it
done and understood
2. Tri-color screen will appear
Yep
3. Disable activesync (file -> connection settings -> uncheck "allow USB connections")
This I don't understand and when I disable activesync my phone no longer communicates with the pc
4. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB lead.
When I do this with activesync disabled nothing happens so I have to reinstate activesync to continue
5. Run RUU/ROMUpgradeUtility.exe
done this
6. Follow the flashing process (Check the "I understand..." and "I completed..." boxes and update!)
and this
7. Allow your phone to reboot.
See now my phone doesn't reboot itself here I physically have to either press the power button or push the little button on the bottom
8. Transfer TRIN_Unlock_v1.exe program to your phone and run it
yeah can do this easy
9. Click the Unlock Button, select unlock option. Select if you want SIM/CID unlock.
and this
10. Click "Unlock!" and wait until process finishes.
yeah of course
11. When done, turn off your phone for 10 seconds and reboot after that.
OK maybe I don't have this reboot off to pat but I turn it off and then press that little button on the bottom with the stylus
Now I have tried this with an orange card in, with an O2 card in, with no card in and the result is always the same No joy. I am so clearly getting something wrong and its getting very frustrating.
Can I ask where you got you phone from? Was it a new purchase from a supplier, or from Ebay etc?
The fact that a UK SIM works in NL, but nothing seems to work in UK, shows that the Radio does actually work, but not in all locations.
This could suggest that the phones IMEI number is being blocked for some reason- usually if the phone has been reported lost or stolen. Or the fact that the UK Orange SIM now seems to work may imply that the phone CID /SIM unlock didn't take properly.
It may be worth trying another unlocking tool. If you pop over to Modaco, their Trinity forum has a good unlocker which worked on my Orange M700
Yeah it was an ebay phone. Its being a right pain. I have tried completely unlocking the security using this guide http://wiki.spv-developers.com/HTC_Application_Unlock_Guide
Its not unlocking. I cannot edit the registry from a pc based application and it won't let me instal a reg edit program. I need to find an older than feb 06 rom file and try again. I am begining to think this phone is a dodgy one. How do I find out if its registered stolen?

To find out about the phone's status, call Orange Customer Services (07973 123 150) and get them to check the IMEI number (Settings/Device Information/Identity Tab)
For the Super CID, you could try This app on Modaco. It seems pretty reliable. Once flashed, you can them apply any ROM image update.

Hi,
My quick penneth's worth:
I've had M2000 - pile of junk (real technical problems) compared with M5000 - great 'phone, great functionality - absolutely no technical problems.
M700 replicates the M5000 functionality, except with built-in GPS!
Absolutely the best 'phone ever, glad to agree to 18 month contract (as opposed to my usual rule of never agreeing to more than 12 months).
Everything about the M700 shouts out that it really has been thought about before production - right down to clear plastic covered paint as opposed to painted plastic.
Not the smallest of 'phones, but I believe that this is about as optimum as you will get size-wise if you want a screen to be useful for WM5/6.
You will not regret the move from M2000 - trust me.

Update. I got a new orange simcard put that in it and after the texts that orange sent it now also works with a uk vodafone simcard. It still doesn't even recognise either of my lebara cards as a simcard so I think there is a problem with that type of sim. I'll try another Dutch card in it when I get back there and see if that works.

2. Tri-color screen will appear when at this screen unplug usb then plug back in, windows should detect usb device (htc usb sync) as far as i can tell windows needs this driver installing to communicate outside of activesync!
this maybe for Vista only? i dont know? but worth a try!
if i am wrong someone please correct me
I had a similar problem. After I installed a peice of SPB software to memory card - the phone side opf the PDA couldnt lock on to the network. It wouldn't work with any other SIM either!!
Orangre replaced the SIM just in case. However I ended up doing a hard reset.
I think the problem is the way that the M700 handles large memory cards. theres plenty of threads on that one!!
Once, after an install of TomTom - all my other folders were wiped on the card.
I'm now using SPB Backup and am making a copy of my memory card too.
I got it working in the end with persistence. I got a second phone I was so impressed with it. I then proceeded to fall off my bike and smash the first phone up. Broke the screen. When repairing it I managed to break the screens ribbon retaining clip and socket and then fried a power capacitor or something fitting the battery backwards so unless I can find a new main board I am up the creek with that phone.

Dual Sim problem

Ok, I have been browsing this forum for a solution to my problem and none seem too specific, at least for my BA wm6.
Here is the problem: I just received a dual sim adapter (the one that needs cutting) -both sims work fine. I can't get them to switch from one sim to the other from my phone. power on/off and flight mode won't do it either. I tried phone alarm, dual sim switcher, and wivit. They don't work for my phone. I also have a wm2003 se BA and tried it on there and I was only to get the dual sim to switch once. So now the dual sim is stuck on SIM2. So it doesn't matter which phone I use I can only use the sim that is on the SIM 2 slot! Blah!!
What I need: A program, or anything to switch my SIMs for my BA wm6. I don't want to keep taking out my sim and open the sim adapter and switch the two sims all the time.
Edit: after fooling around with my 2003se BA I managed to get the Dual Sim Manager to work again, and I noticed that despite switching SIMS, phone information alway display the default SIM. Does this mean that it is not switching? Does this mean that it does switch but the phone does not display it? If latter is the case then I am in big trouble! One SIM has unlimited internet and texting and other one is just a basic plan. Please help! I don't want a surprise bill!
Edit: Sorry, I needed an answer so I'm feverishly testing this crap out. And the answer is yes the sim changes but the phone does not display so. The trick I used is texting my account info and voila! Two different accounts! So, now over to my wm6 BA and check that out
I'm really surprised, that people are so patient to fight with such an uneffective and clumsy device as dual SIM adapter: you have to cut/destroy those SIM cards, then you have to pray that i works with your phone...
I really think, that if you really need to use 2 SIMcards, why not buying a 2nd phone, or just a special phone with 2 radios and for 2 SIMs.
And please don't tell me it's "for comfort" - dualSIM is antiComfort...
There are other solutions that you don't need to cut the sim, one that I have seen is the addapter is placed in the sim slot and the simm are part of the battery pack.
Bottom line is that that one sucks as well.
I feel there is a valid need in my line of work were I would need at least 3 laptops to support the Builds of my customers however VMWare gets me by fine.
As for the phone, I need 2, carry 2 and hate it.
So I would be a buyer if there was anything around worth having. (which as I still have a BA seems not the case).
Dual Sim Problem
Hi pharmeceutikle,
I wonder how this device works for BA at all!
I tried an adapter like yours of a friend of mine and it just doesn't work with my BA.After inserted, I don't see any new menu for it and when I restart the BA, it shows invalid sim message at startup. I have installed a WM6.1 ROM downloaded at this site [20749 (Build 20749.1.4.0 PV DVH) - v13] and my radio version is 1.12 (by the way, it was 1.15 but 1.12 is the only one that worked fine for my device). The same adapter, once installed on a Motorola phone of my friend works pretty fine! so, it's not a problem with the adapter, I guess...
Did you change anything on registry? could you please tell me how did you proceed since cutting the sims until you got it to work, please?
Many thanks!

This dual sim adapter only works if you have a working STK ROMs. I believe I used Helmi's original wm6 as one of them and then I went to others but I can't quite remember which. I posted an experiment with the all the ROMS I used awhile ago so just do a search under my name. Anyways, I couldn't get it to switch sims normally so I had to reset the damn thing all the time. I would go to the STK menu and choose either sim 1 or 2 and then quit out and then reset my phone for it to make the change which really is a pain. As soon as my second sim ran out I just tossed the infernal thing and stuck one sim per phone! Sorry couldn't be much more of a help.
Thanks
Thanks anyway I'll keep searching for a while.

Cingular 8125 Sim "counter Blocked". Question Please Read !!!

I brought a 8125 from ebay it had a cracked screen. So I had an PPC 6700 that had a bad radio so I took the screen out of it and placed it in the 8125. Everything worked great but when I turned it on it cam up with the message " Invalid or missing SIM card". I placed my Tmobile SIM card in I turned on the device and it reads the same thing. I read all the posts that I can find about this and they really didn't have much about it. I noticed that its searching for the network buy looking at the signal indicator but I also noticed the the led to sho that the phone was on doesn't blink. On some of the posts that I read it stated that if someone put the wrong code in to many times that the phone will be "counter blocked". I think maybe thats what happened with the last owner of the phone did. I at first unlocked the sim with the sim unlocker thinking that was the problem was but it still didn't work. My question is if it goes in to the counter blocked mode does it prevent the software from unlocking the sim. My other question is what is the file's name that when you place a sim in the phone that it runs to enter the unlock code on the phone? I was thinking maybe if I run that file manualy that maybe it will get the phone out of the counter blocked mode and then I can try running the software unlock again. Things that I have done to try to get it to work was sim and cid unlock, flashed tmobile rom to the device checked the contacts in the sim holder to make sure they are touching the sim card. Any ideas?
Sounds like it may not be a software problem. If the device was legitimately software blocked, it would display that, instead of 'invalid/missing SIM'. If it's IMEI blocked, it would have accepted the SIM but been unable to connect to the network.
The problem is most likely either the SIM itself or the onboard SIM reader. Try obtaining another SIM card and seeing if the device will read it.

Trouble unlocking phone from Orange

I am trying to unlock my Touch HD from Orange.
I've used www.htccode.com and I now have an unlock code for my phone. I have put a friends vodaphone sim card into my phone but it doesn't prompt me to enter the code. I've even tried a hard reset but still nothing.
Could it be the ROM I'm using (BlackStoneHenge HyPer)?
Tony
p.s. Just tried with an O2 sim too - same result.
Here's a thought: I notice that the phone always goes to airplane mode when I put a sim card in. I wonder if Orange - in their infinite wisdom - have deactivated my old phone when I activated my new one. Does that sound right?
I'll put my new Orange sim into it and see what happens...
edit: Tested with my new Orange sim and the phone works fine.
In case anyone has a similar problem - I've found the cause. It was the ROM (BlackStoneHenge HyPer) that was the cause. I flashed a different ROM to the phone and the unlocking prompts then appears as expected.

SIM unlocked Galaxy S4 got locked again?!

So, I am very ignorant regarding cellphones, so I hope someone around here can help me out. I have a rooted Samsung S4 GT-I9500 that I bought in Guatemala from Claro company. I moved to Africa to work, so for me to be able to use my phone I bought an unlock code that worked just perfectly. My phone got sim unlocked and I was able to use it for several months until recently. One night my phone ran out of battery, so I plugged it to the charger and charged it all night [turned off]. Next morning when I turned the phone on, the phone was sim locked again and my sim card was not recognizable at all. the following message appears
"PIN to unlock SIM service provider"...when I click dismiss and scroll down the upper tab it says "Invalid SIM card...Network locked SIM card inserted".....
I tried reentering the unlocking code that I previously bought but with no success. I tried factory resetting and reentering the code, also no success. I also inserted my old Claro Guatemalan Sim Card and it is also not recognized by the phone. Does anyone have any clue or suggestions about what it could be and what I can do about it? Please make the explanations "for dummies" since as I said before, I am not that good with cellphone stuff. Thanks for your help.

Hello dollagaray,
I´m having the exact same issue. Did you find any way of solving it? I have flashed several firmwares and modems but nothing would unlock the phone again.
Thanks in advance!
morza21
I had this issue and ended up replacing the SIM card tray.
