Is there a way to simple export all contacts to a universal format so that it can be easy imported into another phone.
I'm just interested in exporting names with phonenumbers, I'm not interested in any other information in the contacts, so just names+phonenumber.
I coudn't find any way to do this in windows mobile.
I guess I need a tool for this.
I'm not looking for a solution that needs outlook, but just a simple tool that exports my contacts so I can use it in another phone (non-windows mobile).
Can anyone give advice please...
thanks in advance....
hi,
I know you said you weren't looking for a solution that needs outlook, but I think that it's the easiest way to do what you are asking for... After synchronizing, follow these steps:
1. In Outlook, choose File Import and Export.
2. In Outlook, follow the instruction and export your contacts as either Tab Delimited windows or Tab Delimited MS-DOS type.
3. In Outlook, choose the fields in "contacts" you would like to export. (Just export the fields you need)
That will do it for you.
You can also try this.

Again, a 'solution' using outlook is not an option.
The tool you are referring tool does not support WM5, but thanks for mentioning anyway.
Typically microsoft to leave very important functionaly like this out of WM5 but instead you get MSN on the today page (wich I never use and even don't want to have)
This pisses me off....

What carrier are you on and what phone is it?Does it use a SIM card? And,does this device have internet capabilities?
Try this
Sync contact with Outlook Express from current device.
connect new device, now again Sync with new device.
does anybody know about a forms designer (like handDBase) but which uses the original contacts database? i would like to create my own mask for searching and adding contacts because poutlook is horrible...
another idea would be to create a complete database app (e.g. handbase) but then it should be able to sync with outlook. did anybody make any experiences here?
thanks for your help
Hi.
I'm developing j2me application.
I have to read contacts from phone. But on HTC TYTNII users can't read all contacts.
I don't know what it is, anyhow i has told that contacts was earlier synchronized with Outlook.
Do you have some ideas?
greetings
Piotr
I come from wm world, and there are several apps capable of exporting call log to Outlook Diary.
I need this for timekeeping and invoicing.
Can you help me with the name of the proper application, if available?
Thank you in advance
Hi
Previously had all my contacts on the sim. Now that I have samsung galaxy s, and will probably stick with the same O.S. for the future, it would be nice to convert all my #s to google. Can't find any option on the phone to do this.
Thanks
Kiwi
Hi,
that is a good question..i searched for the same function but i did not find a proper option...i only managed to link my phone contacts with my facebook contacts, which is really cool
Thanks, if they are linked then where is the phone number stored, is it still only on the sim or does it go into the "facebook contact" which i imagine the facebook contact is stored on the phone.
I wish there was some sort of smart contacts manager application on the PC that you could merge sim <-> facebook <-> gmail contacts all into one set of gmail only contacts.
check this topic out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765081
it has several Contact managing tools i've been using to keep all my contacts in sync
I have yet to find an easier way
thanks to you.
