i used my motorola bluetooth headset and it was working great for one week.
today.. after hard reseting the device i tried to pair the headset again but it didn't let me choose it as a Hands-free device.
it does pair them but i can't use it as headset/answer calls.

I am not having much luck with my new headset.
First time I bond the headset it works fine, but once bluetooth tools shuts down the bluetooth after a call, the headset it never gets it back correct.
The headset will still link and the call button will take the call, but I can't communicate.
After you have taken a call on the headset, is there a way of getting the call back onto the xda?
I even tried leaving the bluetooth on all the time but that wasn't that successful either.
Anyone else using the logitech can they please advise me how they manage it's use.

I have been using logitech BT headphones love the unit. I dont have any problems except for the delay for it to connect to the phones. I have to wait for about 2 seconds before its connected to the phones when receiving calls. BTW I have been using it for the past 6 months. 8)
Do you use Bluetooth tools or just the stock standard bluetooth support?

I received my xda exec yesterday, and most things seem to be OK, but I can't get it to work with my Motorola HS810 bluetooth headset. Does anyone know why this might be? If it's a total incompatibility thing, and I have to get a new headset, could anyone recommend a cheap but serviceable alternative?

not sure about your headset but my sony headset worked fine
better than it did with my sony p900 infact as the pairing seems a lot more pernament where as with p900 i used to have to re pair the two almost every time i switched blutooth on
im now using jabra bt 800
excellent for me and the vibrate feature means you can leave it in pocket and use it as your phone to answer calls rather than getting exec out of its pouch, without walking round all day looking like an extra from star trek voyager or a dixons advert
Ah. Thank you. The Jabra was the one I was looking at as a possible alternative. I think I'll check that out. My husband's bluetooth headset also connected to my xda with no problems at all...so I think it must be the Motorola that's the problem. Maybe it's an earlier Bluetooth version or something...
I'm also using Jabra BT 800 and it's working fine with me till now.
I believe it's the best blue tooth head set we can ever use with universal.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a Jabra this afternoon, so I got a Bluetrek G2, and that works fine with it. So long as I can be handsfree in the car and do voice-dialling, I'm happy!

I have htc 3600, HTC Mteor and SonyEricsson HBH-600!
I can't use headset with both devices at the same time (not same call, i think on normal use of two devices) , because headset will connect on first device and ignore other!
It's little bit unuseless for me and the same problem was with HTC & Nokia 6230, and qtek s200 & Nokia 6230, my previous combination!!
The question is which BT headset to buy, device that will be smart enough to disconnect from htc after call to be ready for receiving call from 2nd htc....

You can also use the Plantronics Voyager 510.
It supports BT Multipoint, I use it myself to switch between my trinity and PC programs like skype and MSN.
I think it works great.

I wouldn't buy a BT stereo headset just yet, at least not until a ROM update.
Use the search function in this forum and you'll see that their are still some problems with it.
I really want to get a pair too, I really like the set from jabra but until the BT stereo issues are fixed I won't buy them.

I have Jabra BT320s stereo Bluetooth adapter, which I use flawlessly with Nokia E71. When trying to pair it with my HTC Magic, it fails. Basically, I put Jabra into pairing mode, then invoke pairing from Magic, and it says 'Pairing...' forever - virtually nothing happens on both Jabra and phone side after that. However, occasionally Magic pops out a PIN request after a while of waiting, but putting default 0000 PIN also doesn't help. I've even tried a hard reset (factory reset, that is) today but still no luck.
Anyone tried pairing A2DP device with Magic and could tell their story on this?
Sony DS970 pairs & works - mostly.
I have managed to easily pair a set of Sony DS970 earphones. The sound quality is very good and can control the standard music player.
The process went: turn on bluetooth -> discoverable -> search -> find -> pair -> working
It won't control TuneWiki though which is a shame.
Occasionally I have suffered from sound drop off when listening to music although it's fine when using in calls.
Thanks for that BigRD. I will try to hard-reset and/or upgrade firmware in my Jabra A2DP adapter later in the evening. Maybe that would help somehow...
I have finally managed to pair my Jabra successfully. I did firmware reset on it, but at first Magic still wasn't keen on pairing. But I tried couple of times, and finally took different approach. Once Magic stopped scanning BT devices ('Scanning...' and circling indicator have both disappeared), I've then started pairing process. Voila! Paired within seconds!

Hello.
I have just bought a Dell Streak in Dubai. It was android 2.1 and I was able to immediately update it to 2.2. It works beautifully, is fast and does everything I throw at it and more.
Problem:
Bluetooth audio simply does not work. I have tried pairing it with my car kit, a nokia headset, a jabra headset and a generic bluetooth headset. It pairs fine with the headsets and phone calls seem to go to the headset but there is no audio in the headset. The person on the other side also cannot hear anything. And after i press the bluetooth button during the call to bring the call back to the phone, the headset(or car kit) seems "locked" and only gets free when I switch off bluetooth on the streak.
Bluetooth file transfer works fine and I have tested it with a samsung galaxy s. But it doesnt work for phone calls. It is a major problem as it is difficult to use the device without the bluetooth on a regular basis and especially in the car.
I would appreciate any help in this matter as I love the device but as I spend considerable amount of my time driving, it is getting very annoying.

I use my dell streak with my motorola s10 bt headset and my car bt handsfree system and have no issues at all.
Maybe try un-pairing all devices and repairing them and testing then one at a time and see is that helps. Askari when a device is connected go to settings, wireless, bluetooth and see if you can tap and hold on the connected bt item and see if you can adjust its settings.

Thanks for the assist but i tried unpairing and pairing but it did not work. Not too many options in the menus to change so I am pretty much stuck here.
As I have updated to android 2.2 from 2.1 which came with the phone, would a factory reset send the system back to 2.1 and then i can check whether bluetooth works or not? I mean, I cant think of anything else to do.
Is it possible that something i have downloaded or installed on the sd card is causing audio conflict with the bluetooth audio?
