Bugs of IA Photo Contacts 1.20 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I was very glad because we can assign pictures & ringtones together using IA Photo Contacts version 1.20 in XDA Mini or i-Mate JAM. I can say goodbye to RingtoneX software now.
But I realized that we can not assign ringtones properly by IA Photo Contacts due to the database trouble. I assigned different ringtones to more than one person, restarted IA Photo Contacts and the ringtones was not assigned exactly as I did: other ringtones for other people or default ringtone for someone was assigned ringtone by me.
Is there anyone know this trouble, any solution?

Hi,
Where have you stored your ringtones ? I found the behaviour became more stable once I moved my ringtones from the SD card to the "Storage". In my experience - the PPC temporarily "forgets" the existence of the SD card at each power on (only for less than a second). This can cause problems for any software that expects it to always be there (same problem with TomTom navigator with the maps on the SD card).

I store all ringtones in main memory in the system folder \Windows\Rings

I use the "storage" memory to .. realy fixed all earlier problems..

Ringtones

Hi All.....
Due to my trusting Nokia not being waterproof , I have reverted to using my XDA II as a mobile (Should be interesting!!!). Is there anyway to allocate ringtones to callers numbers????
I have had a look on the device - but if you can...well I cannot seem to find it
Thanks for your help.
Rich

PhoneExt - freeware.
Which one is best for the XDAII
Dear all,
to use RinTonex or PhoneExt did you had to unistall the IA software or can you get the picture from the IA SW and the ring from the above?
Thanks!
Chris
P.S.: also, have you tried other appications for this purpouse? What are the pro and cons of each?

I'm also interrested with this post
It seems stupid that you can asign a photo to a group or name but not a ringtone!
I tried Pic&Ring, and it works perfect! You can assign both pictures an ringtones for induvidual contacts (I removed IA caller and IA Photo Contacts) It costs USD10.8 Atrial version can be downloaded from .http://www.xda.com.cn/E/index.htm

Photo & ringtone-assigning features don't work on XDA II

Hi All!!
I was wondering if someone could help with this problem which is really frustrating me:
My new XDA IIi comes equipped with a standard photo- and ringtone-assigning features, but when I use this feature to assign photos and ringtones to contacts, it doesn’t work, and instead, it goes back to the default ringtone (selected in: Sounds and Notifications) with no photo.
FYI, my ringrones are in: \Windows\Rings\, and my photos are in: \My Documents\My Pictures\
Please help!!!
Bump!!
Is it losing the settings that you have made or just ignoring them, if it is just ignoring them have you checked that you don't have two versions of the contact on you r device? i.e. one on your sim card and one from Outlook?

Yes, I do have two versions of the contacts both in my SIM card and a replica in my phone memory (not Outlook), but what does that have to do with ignoring the settings? They both have same photo and ringtone assignments.

changing sms tones?

hi could anyone help me please ive searched for days for a program that will let me use my own wav files for sms alert. ive changed where there stored on my phone and sd card all to no avail! ive a program to use mp3 as ringtones called ringtone manager that i got from a post on this forum and this works fine but i carnt find anythig similar for my sms tones. ive a xda mini s running mw5, can anyone help me please!? thanks in advance of ur help.
Wave files should work for sms's in WM5 if you put them in the Windows folder.
success!!!! id read before that only wav files could be used be for sms tones, so after re-reading the threads on here i was still stumped as to why none of the wavs id got on my wizard would work. during a chat and comparing phones break at work today, a mate had a funny wav he was using for his sms on his nokia, he bluetoothed it to me and i thought id try following ur advice one last time, and ureaka! it worked!!!!! id copyed the folder of "wavs" i was using stright off my old phones sd card, id not relised that they were mp3 format.(i swear i thought they were wav!) it was then i noticed in the folder in my wizard the icon was different on my new sms tone, it was a media player icon where as the icon on all others was i mini mp icon in the corner of a white rectangle. is there a list of icons to file types anywhere? oh and thanks to xon1 for ur post, carnt belive i was so stupid as not to double chech my file format!!!

how to to store mails in storage card?

Hi, a friend of mine own a Leo ..he wants to save mails in storage card couse internal memory is not enough, on wm 6.1 it was quite easy .. just create 2 folder in storage card and add this 2 registry entry
Name: AttachPath
String: \Storage Card\MAPI\Attachments
Name: PropertyPath
String: \Storage Card\MAPI
but with 6.5 I think is different couse when he add the registry values, storage card is renamed in storage card2 and a folder named storage card appear in \windows.
Any suggestion
Thanks
Nope, I have been searching for an answer to this from day one of owning the HD2. It's also nothing to do with WM6.5 - the tweak worked fine on my HD on 6.5.
I suspect that the cause is something starting up a mail application before the SD Card is mounted. I have tried various tweaks including removing some start up items, but nothing has worked to date.
I'd be very please if someone can crack this!
Hi, not sure if this helps but it's not a tweek but an actual setting on the HD2 -
Start, email, select your client, menu, slide screen up and tap tools, options, storage tab along the bottom, tick the box to store attachments to the SD card.
That's fine for attachments, but we are talking about moving the whole mail store to the SD Card.
That's the difference between having a limited snapshot of recent mail without the full message being downloaded and having every part of all your emails, including sent items.
anyone figured this out yet, it keeps coming up storagecard 2 if you change the reg values
so we have to have to wait.. a custom rom can solve this if is not a 6.5 issue

Weird thing is that if you enable this option, the registry value "AttachPath" gets created pointing to \Storage Card\Inbox.xxxxxxx\Mail Attachments\
But in this case \Storage Card\ doesn't get renamed to \Storage Card2\. But the moment you create "PropertyPath registry value and soft reset the device, it gets renamed.
anychance we can all work together and try to find a fix?
how about if we disabled htc messaging, is there anyone who has a non htc messaging application hd2, who can test this for us ??
I have a lot of email everyday and need to keep it at least 1 week. The email folder occupe my limitation memory. It should solve. Its HTC trouble or Micorsoft?
I have the same problem, around 2.5k mails in Exchange, and 3-3.5k in GMail account, really would like to store them on microSD card
As my working assumption is that the problem is caused by some component of messaging initialising before the SD Card is mounted, I have tried a number of things to delay or prevent obvious messaging stuff loading.
One thing I haven't tried yet is disabling Sense in favour of either Titanium or just the core OS. I'm not in a position to be able to try this myself right now, but if anyone fancies trying it I'd be fascinated to know the result. Then all we would need potentially would be a utility to delay Sense starting by a few seconds?
I do have a horrible feeling that HTC may have something going on at a deeper level though...
Nope, that doesn't work either...
Has anyone been successful with this severe limitation?? I'm at my wits end with this problem!!
i have an idea to a solution

Losing contact assigned ringtones

Evening,
Just finished setting up my arc,s with JJ rom, and was very pleased with the way it operates, using arcknight oc kernal. Only one problem that i cant seem to get over is that i cant keep contact assigned ringtones to hold to the contact.
What i mean is i can assign it and then if the phone does not sleep it will use the ringtone i have assigned for that contact, however once the phone goes to sleep, the same contact ringing in will ring with the default ringtone.
I have made the mp3 i have always used for ringtones into ogg and pushed them in the system media folder instead of just putting them in a media/audio/ringtone folder on my sdcard but the problem still persists. Anyone have any thoughts what i need to do to get this problem fixed ?
Much appreciated
Ps not at ten posts so cant post this to the actual rom thread. Apologies to the thread police before the get called.
