Thanks for the links guys. Is the i-mate version better than the "branded" version from one of the networks? also does the jam have any major problems with things like bluetooth, or using sd wifi cards as I am planning on doing?
Thanks.

S model
is the S model really that bad? what went wrong with it?
Smiley
the xda2s was the worst thing ever, main problem was the microphone on the device was terrible and people could hardley hear you, and the bluetooth did not work as it should so the headsets did not function properly..
So the XDA2s is ok as long as you not useing it for phone calls

I've got a 2s and a 2i and I think thats a harsh statement. Everyone has different needs.
The microphone on my 2s is absolutely fine. After a short time with the 2i I still haven't decided which one I'm going to keep. Sure the bt stack is better on the 2i (presumably only until the next 2s rom release) but is that enough to make me give up the keyboard? As a heavy emailer I just don't know if I can go back to all those screen taps with the stylus. The 2s has it faults at the moment but after the novelty of the 2i has worn off a bit I'm kinda leaning back towords the 2s.

You do not sell the XDA IIi SIM free and SIM unlocked? DO you ship outside the UK?
OK sorry it was a bit harsh, Only on most of the XDA2s's that i had the microphone worked but people i talk to alway say it was hard to hear me, as if i had my finger over the mic hole, witch of corse i did not. And with the bluetooth not working correct that made macking quality phone calls not possible.
Yes good point with the keyboard some people like the idea of it being there when you need it, and slid away when not needed, but some of them stated to loosen up badlley after a week or 2 of use
For us being a mobile phone shop and a customer caller us but then is having trouble hearing what we say is no good advert.
I will speak to o2 and seee if i can get some ( very few ) unlocked so i can sell sim free anywhere
i saw a qtek 9090 (xdaIIs) loooks HORRIBLE !! specially when the keyboard sticks out....it has 60% chances of breakin apart when the keyboard sticks out....but still i would go for xdaIIs only if it EVER HAD 1.3 MEGA PIXEL CAM (no probs even if the resolution and image quality is like xdaIIi)
I am reside in US and would like to buy O2 xda IIi as well. Applecom can you please forward me some info on how to get one from your shop. Thanks.
Ok, still no luck as far as finding a new XDA IIi unlocked/simfree. Can anyone point me to anyone selling one, or shipping one to the US.
Thanks,
Mike

I'd take one too!
THe XDA IIi is worth £500 (more sim free)
When I get my stock in, I will be looking around 425 mark. Negotiable.
Thanks,
Imran.
Or just get one from O2 for £384 with full support and warranty.

o2 xda mini release

Hi there - this is my first post so be gentle!
I have been waiting months now for the mini to be released on O2. I am hoping that someone in here can shed some light on its release date?
I have searched all over the web - i know that I can buy a jam sim free but wanted to go through O2. Currently have p900& spv with orange.
Ive heard that it wont be released -
Not interested with the Orange version - looks horrible compared to the mini!
Cheers!

Help XDA Mini S *Unlocker Needed Please.......

Can anyone direct me to a software to unlock to all network.
YIM email me
Here:

thats a shame. o2s data tariffs are much better then orange's now!
Orange offer an 'equivalency' offer. So if you ring their Customer Service and tell 'em O2 are better, they'll match the O2 100 for example.

Use v0.2a :?
Listen Peeps:
If it is a UK sourced O2 XDA Mini S there is NO NEED to unlock it; it is already network unlocked. Stop giving the guy false info!!!!!

Gee I got myself an O2 TyTn - how do I make it SIM free?

It will be in my hands tomorrow and there is no dedicated forum yet so any idea would be nice.

All O2 handsets come sim unlocked anyhow. Do you have a tytn or a trion? I thought o2 was marketing the latter - either way both will be unlocked.

No they don't - the XDA 1, 2, 2s, 2i are all sim locked and some execs are as well.

Using hermes/tytn etc in uk with o2

Hi
I'm a newbie, have checked but can't see anyone has asked this specific question before:
I'd like an xda trion but I've been told by O2 it won't be coming to the uk.
So my question is, if I got hold of an unlocked HTC Hermes or one of it's equivalents and put in my o2 3g sim - could I use all of it's features?
i.e. would this be like using a Trion but without all the O2 software etc..
Also is there a recommended model to buy? - i.e. HTC or imate etc
Thanks
Do you really need to stay with O2 ? Because the T-Mobile and other operator deals can give you a 12/18 month contract + Hermes for the same price as a device without contract.

I bought an unlocked TyTN from mobilefun.co.uk aswell as a 1GB microSD (the UltraII one). Works a charm, no rpobelsm(LOL leaving that for irony) whatsoever (apart from ones ive made hehe). Its the HTC branded TyTN but ive flashed it with the imate JASJAM ROM and used the HTC ext rom to get the standard green content etc.... (having tried the updated unnofficial HTC rom, aswell as the dopod rom). 3G works a treat and im still on my O2 online contract (sim only.....1 month rolling contract...£25 line rental...1000 txts and 1000 off-peak minutes)
O2 is pretty good for me and im ok with not having the full speed internet and settling for (around) 1mbps on 3G.
kevino - I wish I could, my current contract doesn't finish until April though.... there's no way out is there?
mrvanx - thanks for the info that's great. Think I'll look for second hand though, it's expensive isn't it.
Also I'll have to look in to all this rom update stuff to get it all sorted.
Thanks guys - very helpful.
Kenny
Kenny,
April is a long way off. I just moved to T-Mobile because of W'n'W. Depending on your usage it may be worth your while to just get a new contract anyway. You can, I believe, buy out your contract if you want to keep your number. Anyway I'm sure you'll know what's best for yourself.
