Help!! can anyone advise me on how to remove the embeded O2 GPRS settings on my XDA, i have had it unlocked but everytime i delete the O2 wap and gprs settings it re sets them. and i cant find away to delete the O2 GPRS settings in the programs menu
Cheers,
I have had my Exec for a couple of months now and have finally given in and had to remove the o2 software. I have all the settings to replace but I cant get mms to work right. I fill in all the server settings but it never creates the MMS inbox under the message section.
I do not get the same phone interface either with no video call button.
Is there a way of configuring the device with the o2 software installed and then copying some of the files to my sd card then doing the corporate install and copying the files back???
any ideas????
damn exec...
other than that can someone confirm I am removing the o2 software correctly.. :?
I am doing a hard reset and as you get the 3 second warning that the o2 active software is going to be installed I then do a soft reset.
I then let it start up but it seems there is a lot more than the o2 software not installed?? :x
any ideas people???
Hi you wonderfull helpfull people!!
I did a search on this and can find various settings etc but cant seem to find anything specific!!
I purchased a Orange SPV M500 but I have an O2 Contract Sim, so I unlocked the M500 (Using the wonderfull software from here - thanks for that by the way!) and am now using my O2 sim in the phone. Now ringing people and sending text is obviously OK, however I have a problem connection to the net and sending email's MMS and its all down to my GPRS settings still being set at the Orange ones.
I tried to ammend the settings by getting them from the O2 website (I am unable to send them to my phone as you have to select the phone you use, and obviously they dont have the M500 in their list as they dont sell it, I tried to get the settings for thier XDA but it doesn't work) I tried to put them in the M500, but there seems to be more settings on their website than there is space for on the M500!!!
Help!!!
The main reason I got the phone was for net access and now I havn't got it LOL
So does anyone else have an M500 running an O2 Sim and have the GPRS working and if so can you help pleaaaasssseee
thanks in advance to any replies!

Hi
Try this the file has been posted on here b4, but could not find it so ive attached it to this message.
delete all of the setting in connections, copy the cab to your phone and run it useing file manager. you have to do a soft reset, check in MMS settings that you are useing the o2uk and delete the orange settings.
hope it helps
i used it on a mda compact, hope it helps
Thanks alot thats a great help.
I will do this when I can get on my own PC (Im at work and we have a download/upload block grrrr) so will hopefully try in in the next few days!
When you say delet all settings do you mean go to the GPRS main page and tap and hold till the delet option comes up and delete each thing set up (i.e there is the O2 one I created and the original Orange one) or just go in to each profile and just clear all the info in the fields? Sorry just want to double check thats all!!!
And does it matter which folder I copy it to in my phone, or shall I just whack it in the root directory or something?
Thanks again BTW can't wait to try this
Hi
I deleted all the setting that where on the phone, (MDA compact) when u run the cab it will create all the seting u nead so no need for the old ones, if you are unsure back up the phone with active sync then if u have any problems you car put it back as it was.
copy the cab anywhere u like, then run it useing file manager and it will set up the gprs settings for u

Anybody found the .cab operator settings file for TMO USA. All club iMate has is for Pay-As-You-Go or VPN settings?
If not, wonder if the settings file for KJAM will work? :
T-Mobile_USA_Internet_UNI_SA_V2.0.cab
Thanks for any help.
Frank
Check out this link for various carrier cab files: http://www.modaco.com/Dopod_818_Operator_CABS-t235493.html
I tried to use the k-jam carrier cab and found that while it said it installed, it did not work...however the dopod 818 file did the job.
Mitch
Thanks, Mitch.
Guys , thats my post, nice to see it was of use. I have also found out that the Jam operator files work as well.
Is there anyone know the setting for Optus Australia then?
I want my 818 pro to connect to GPRS there.

Thanks for the file, I have tried to install it, but I just don't know where to config it with Optus.
Can you give me some cue please?
Here is the T-Mobile USA cab settings for GPRS, MMS, E-mail trigger, and tmobile battery program. I got it off my old HP 6315. It ran well in my imate jam. Right now i am waiting for delivery of my jamin, cant wait. To set up the email trigger you have to create an account at the tmobile US web site, choose the hp 6315 as your phone, and then set up your pop3 mail accounts and your email gets downloaded to your device automatically.
You can download the file here under the Tmobile Apps.

I have an MDA Compact (Wizard) with WM6 installed. The cab file for O2 network settings I used to use prior to WM6 no longer works - it doesn't change anything. I've tried following instructions for other phones but they don't work - has anyone got MMS to work on O2 under WM6? If so any help appreciated
if the settings that worked before no longer works
and t-mobile dident change then i'd say the issue is spc
for your device's wm6 rom
and asking in the Wizard Mobile 6 forum would give a bigger chance of success
Yes it works, although I too had a cab which used to set it up automatically along with my GPRS settings which now no longer works.
Attached is the instructions sent to me from O2 for my Wizard (works on my Hermes WM6). I followed the GPRS one first, then the WAP one, then the MMS one. I did reg dumps before and after and then made my own cab which (almost) works.
Thanks
Thanks for the above - I'll give it a go
