Hi. Sorry for possible off-topic, but i realy need to install EzWAP 2.5 (which is dedicated for Phone Editions only) on regular Pocket PC handheld (with WM2003).
It is possible to bypass setup check by installing EzWAP 2.5 directly from EzWAP25._O2XDA__arm.CAB file. It works like a charm (of course it doesn't support incoming MMS messages, but sending works great).
The only problem is with wapdrv.dll. EzWAP 2.5 replaces the Microsoft WAP stack 'WAPDRV.DLL' by default in order to enable wap push and notification due to the fact that WAP push is not supported by Microsoft. Unfortunately this also disable the rendering of WAP pages (wsp://) in Pocket Internet Explorer
Without replacing wapdrv.dll ezwap cannot be fully installed (it probably lacks of some files in /Windows and registry entries) and the OPTIONS windows doesn't appear when called so you cannot set WAP gateway, MMS options, etc.
If someone know how to install EzWAP 2.5 without replacing wapdrv.dll or can make a list of all files copied to PDA during instalation with registry entries on regular WM2003 PDA i appreciate for info.
BTW. How to make backup of original wapdrv.dll from PDA, so when it's replaced by EzWAP i could restore the original one ? Meaby this will do the trick, but this file is protected some way and i have no idea how to get it's copy (directly from PDA or via ActiveSync). EzWAP replaces this file so it is possible.
Best regards.

I flashed my T-Mobile phone with the cooked version of 4.00.16 from Jeff's kitchen, but now unable to browse the Internet with Pocket IE or use Avantgo. However, I can ping web sites using vxUtil, update time on my phone, and log in with MSN Messenger. Is there a new setting in WM2003 that I am not getting? I configured the ISP connection as: Cellular Line (GPRS) and used internet2.voicestream.com as my access point. I had no problems using the original ROM and SER 1.2. What are my options? Downgrade to SER 1.2? I was unable to directly downgrade, it appears I need to use bootloader and reflash to 1.2 ...
Thanks!
See if this will help!
Use Pocket File Explorer to locate and run welcome.exe.
Note: welcome.exe is located in your Windows root folder
also if you're unable to see/find welcome.exe it may be hidden
if that be the case just tap&hold on a blank spot and select
"View All Files".
Oh yea make sure Pocket IE is closed before you run welcome.exe.

Hello!
I am looking for the cab file (if there exist any extracted one) that is found in most of the WM5 and WM6 OS. It is the Internet Sharing program that lets you connect your PC using USB to the internet. I have searched everywhere but could not find it. I did find the Vista drivers though but I cannot use the internet sharing without first activating it on the mobile phone. This is for a HP 6315 that has WM2003.

I don't have a CAB file but I extracted this from an HTC Universal ROM. Just copy and paste this file in the Windows folder, then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs.
---
I will try it today after work and let you know if it works in WM2003. Thanks!

My PDA (iPAQ 1940, wm2003) told me it's not a pocket pc valid application
And i think it's not a w32 application...
I'm searching for a way to simplify the connection between my PPC and my UBUNTU laptop...
And wm2003 doesn't have a native program to do that
Thanks
internet sharing will only work with WM5 not WM2003, which is the reason your ppc says that it is not a invalid ppc application
Internet connection sharing is a new feature of wm5 networking. It wont work on devices with previous os.
The error that it gave you is because of the fact that it's compiled for a target CPU that is different from yours.
I would very much like to get a utility that can work in windows mobile 2003, with similar features of internet sharing in wm5 or wm6, so that I can share the internet connection of my ppc in my laptop while I can still receive phone calls and text messages. Can anyone develop such a tool?
Ok, i understand...
I have to try out other roads to share my internet connection from ubuntu to my pda
Tnx to all!
I will try the programe for my FS LOOX T830. Thanks
I don't have any.I will try to apply that.
Hello I recently flashed with WM2003 and have been looking for the Arcsoft MMS application, many that I have tried to download and installed said that its not a valid windows CE file.
Does anybody have a link to an Arcsoft MMS Composer that I can try?
Thanks,
Kidcash
I found this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=225853&highlight=arcsoft+mms
It is version 1.6.0.14, I believe now version 5 is out?, looks like I got a very old verison, but at least it works, the others gave a "this is not a valid windows ce install file" error.
if they were exe files then it that error is typical
user trying to run a pc activesync install file directly from their pda
install files to be run on pda's are in 99% of cases cab and not exe
Hi,
With the normal HTC HD rom, I installed a SSL certificate (*.crt file), by using the file-explorer, and clicking on the file.
Now I installed Dutty's latest rom, and I tried to install the certificate by clicking on it, and it tells me no program is associated with *.crt files.
Is there some other way I can add the certificate to the certificate storage? I use an exchange server that have a self-signed certificate. I had it working before I flashed the rom, so I know its possible, question is how
I hope one of you smart guys know how to do it
Thanks
- Ceder
I needed to install wildcard certificate that my company uses for Exchange. After 2-3 hours of fight (using .crs files doesnt worked well) I found a way:
1. Get "Microsoft SSL ChainSaver" and use it to obtain certificate you need
you will get 2 XML files - for HD use that one for WM6 and rename it to _setup.xml
2. Use "makecab" (got it by default in Vista Business - dont know other OS'es) to make CAB file from _setup.xml.
3. Install CAB file on your device
Rgds,
W.
Thanks! Worked perfectly!

Under the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/InternetSharing in the settings folder there is a file named: "Default", data: "value not set", Type REG_NONE. Under the status folder that same file is there along another NAME: Enable, Data0x00000001(1), Type REG_DWORD. This is when i have the phone connected to pc and using internet sharing. I think my registry might be messed . The device is recognize that is trying to access the internet on the PC but it just doesn't establish the connection. Can anyone help me out? Is there such thing as a stock internet sharing cab or if some one sent me their registry files would that fix the problem? Thankx
