Hi, does anyone know how to reset defaults in sounds and notifications so that every time I soft reset I don't need to go in and reset all preferances like sms notification etc?

I set all my sms/mms/notifications to nothing but "Display message on screen" because I'm using phonealarm which handles all the vibrating/alarms but every time I SR my device the settings go back to default, the only thing that stays is my Incoming Call setting. Does anybody else have this? Anyone know where the settings are in the registry? Maybe i can do an import on startup. I know that some settings are in HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds but these seem to be just for the ringing sounds and not the notification settings.
Every time I soft reset the amber notification light starts blinking when the phone boots. It goes away eventually, but I've not been able to determine what makes it stop. It does it when I use a program to soft reset, when I use the button, or when sprite backup autoruns. There's no unread mails or voicemails.
I believe it started doing it when I installed Shogunmark wm6_threaded. s2u2 thinks I have 57 unread SMS.
1. any ideas
2. how do I uninstall Shogunmark wm6_threaded
3. how do I clear SMS in s2u2?

When receiving messages, i tap on reply softkey, but the message tone don't stop ringing, my phone doesn't even stop vibrating. Any help??
Try pressing the End key/Lock key

Clear Storage
Hi pious,
With that kind of problem, it's a software related one, to fix that problem and any other problem with your phone you should reset your phone to its factory settings.
GoTo: Start > Setting > System > Clear Storage
This will reset al settings to manufacturer default. But before doing these, make sure to backup all of your important files, contacts notes, etc.

Hi guys
The SMS notification icon on the Home screen shows a "1" in green circle but there are no unread text messages in the folder. I have cleared out/deleted every single text message (from inbox, sent items, deleted, outbox, drafts, etc) and done a soft reset but the SMS icon on the Home screen still shows as having 1 new SMS! Also, when i go in to the Windows Messaging (as opposed to HTC's skinned version), it shows that i have 1 new/unread SMS even though when i go in to the folder, there's nothing there.
What can i do to clear this anomaly?

Is there anything in the registry that controls the SMS notification on the home page - just something i could clear/change the value?? I'm desperate as don't want to hard reset and i've tried everything else (i think).

Thank you thank you! I have been in to the AT&T store multiple times and they were completely unable to help! I had to soft reset after running the fix, but then it worked like a charm!

I use to have a bunch of Outlook tasks with notifications to remind me of various things to do.
With my previous phone (HTC P3300), the notifications stayed there (until dismissed) whatever I did: reset the phone, move from an application to another, whatever. In the Today screen I always had the left soft key displaying "Reminder" indicating that I had some notifications active.
In my new HD2 this is not hte case any more. I am glad I am not wasting my left soft key just for the reminders, but the problem is that my notifications keep disappearing: if I reset the phone, they are gone. I got the habit of snoozing them before resetting, but this morning my 4 notifications were gone, even with no reset!
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround? Anyone knows what is purging the notifications?

Also is there a app or a way to change the snooze time? For example, to remind me again in 1 hour, but more important notifications, in 10 min...
Hey, i had (have) the same problem. First of all please report this to HTC cos this is a BIG error. What i did is unable htc notification manager, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=631449. That worked for me, also brings back the snooze option. Only problem now that the active reminders dont synx with my exchange or home outlook, but thats something i can live with. Good luck !!
i use the following three reg settings to tweak my notifications.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM\Reminder
change EnableAutoDismiss from 1 to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM
CustomUIDLL is probably set to NotificationLayout.dll
change it to anything else, (example NotificationLayout2.dll) basically a name that doesnt exist.
UseDefaultUI set to 0
Also, go to settings - menu - all settings - sounds and notifications - notifcations tab - in the dropdown choose 'reminders' and make sure 'show on screen' is checked.
