Hi Guys,
I was wondering if you could answer my questions, I have an XDA II with the latest O2 Rom, i also have a Nokia HS-4W bluetooth headset, i wanted to know if it was possible to be able to listen to mp3 or my tomtom Instructions through my bluetooth headset? I love my XDA II but i would love it even more if this was possible, i am suprised O2 didnt include this in their new ROM.
I would appreciate any advice or any URL's that show you can this can be done,
As always thanks in advanced
Kind Regards
nya
Hi,
I don't want to spoil your XDAII experience, but unfortunatley that is not possible... yet...
Huge steps have been made by several good and experienced users on this regard, but there's still a long way to go...
Please use the Search feature, because there are several places in this excelent forum that discuss this and similar issues...
Good luck!

Its the biggest disappointment with the xda 2, I thought I would be able to use bluetooth headset dialling, music etc but it seems it is beyond the capability of those that write the firmware/software to make this possible. I have no idea why this should be as many phones and pda's have this capability.
Thank you for your reply .... its ashame this is not possible...
with the right bluetooth stack it would be possible not in cd quality because of the speed of bluetooth but pretty good anyway
otherwise you could use something like this
http://www.ppcsg.com/forums/viewtop...t=iphono&sid=6d3d546329a09353b6817f1c28cdca86
do you know where i could get the right Bluetooth Stack from ?
with the headset i linked to you dont need a new bluetooth stack
i dont think the current vidcomm bluetooth stack support A2DP which is required for at least stereo sound
this upcomming stack looks like it will support it

Thanks for your help Rudegar, much appreciated.

it's highly possible that this topic i'm posting has been discussed before and i do apologize in advance for bringing it up. but i do need some tips...
i need advise on which bluetooth headset to buy. i'm presently using jabra but i'm starting to get annoyed with the bonding-rebonding issues. if you noticed; once you shut down the headset (for charging or otherwise) or the bluetooth profile in the xda you have to go through the process of rebonding. the same holds when you use activesync; the bonding is lost.
with that; i'm in the process of buying a new headset and i'm after one that doesn't have the rebonding issues; regardless if you turn it off or activesync or whatever. did some research and so far have come across the following headsets. anyone using any of them; could you please give me some feedback if these indeed work properly with the xda2 AND does not have any rebonding issues. the present rom upgrades doesn't seem to address this issue...not that i'm not ungrateful or anything ..
bluetrek
plantronics
sony-ericsson hbh
c-tech
02 headset
motorola
nokia
sorry; don't have the model numbers; any feedback would be appreciated and if you have other headsets in mind do let me know.
cheers mates
robson
Hi Robson,
I've had a Blutrek G2 BT headset for about 3 weeks now without any problems at all. I can't really compare it to any of the other headsets as it is the first one I have owned. The main reason I got it was the fact that it was very cheap (£38) and that its supposed to be the lightest headset you can buy. It looks pretty smart too!
As for battery life, I've charged it once since I'va had it (excluding initial out-of-box charge).
Thats my recommendation, mate
Oops, that price should have read £38.
hey munkee,
thanks, and to be honest i was considering bluetrek because it does indeed look smart. have a mate who can get one for me and i just needed some more info on it. did some web browsing and it looks to be tops. like i said i use jabra; quality is good but the bonding issue is starting to be a pain in the arse.
cheers then
robson
I'm looking for a way to redirect my TomTom voice instructions from my MDA Vario through my Parrat CK3300 BT carkit sounding on my car-speakersystem by using the bluetooth stack. Now Parrot claims this isn't possible due to a phone limitation. I agree and think it's shortage of Microsoft WM5. Now I've looked up some info about Bluetooth Audio Distribution and found the following:
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
AKU 2.0 for Windows Mobile 5.0 (for both, Smartphone and Pocket PC), which is expected to be released early next year (2006), will also includes support for the Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile profile which is designed to transfer a stereo audio stream like music from the device to a headset or car radio.
A2DP is already implemented into the Samsung SGH-i300 Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Smartphone, however this isn't based on Microsoft's A2DP implementation but Samsung added it itself.
(Refer to http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2779 for more info concerning this subject.)
So if this article is based on true facts, it means that Microsoft will soon release a patch for all WM5 based devices, which enables them to receive all audio (e.g. TomTom voice instructions) through the bluetooth stack.
Somebody knows more about this subject and if it's true that after having AKU 2.0 installed, you can hear the navigation instructions through your carkit or headset?
Many thanks,
Youri Festen
there is a facility on this forum that will allow you to switch audio to and from the bluetooth, not high quality or stereo but standard quality.
There is ?
Been loking around in the threads for quite a while, but didn't find a replicatable solution...
Here you go
Tried all kind of files, but no go...
All i want is ALL audio over the Carkit (Supertooth2). That is TomTom + Phone.
I don't care if i have to trun of the carkit to return audio to the phone. But i don't want to have to reset or something.
I have a XDA (Himalaya) btw. Still with Rom 1.72 00WWE 15/03/2004 (Ext Rom 1.72.125)
Tried all these :
BA_OEM_AudioGW.CAB
BA_WM5_Voice_Dialer_2.cab
BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE[1].ARMV4.CAB
Broadcom Corporation BT-PPC AV.cab
Broadcom Stack + Switcher + Icon.zip
BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab
BTAGExtModule-2.zip
btagextmodule.zip
btaudio.zip
MS-BT-107.ARMV4.CAB
SCO settings all BT.txt
voicedial2.rar
whoa it worked
i know im reaching here, but really wanted to try to stream to the new cingular 2125 (aka hct). downloaded and ran the app with my iphono steroe headphones (luv em), got intresting results.
it worked. ran the app, pushed the button on the headphones, got music. call came in, answered (with auto answer) talked, and on hangup it went back to music. however, if i ran another app on the phone such as voice tag in contacts to initiate a call, it brought in the call, but on hangup went back to the speaker. had to run the toggle on again to get headphones working, not elegant - always want more - but im a happy guy til a2dp comes out for mobile 5. thanks!

Try reading and understanding what you read before posting. See the post of dalamario that is the BTAudio on/off tool !
Is this goingt to be anter shout and wild guesses about what file or tool should "really"work ?
I tried all so called "easy" fixes, hell, i've even got a whole dump of my registry, cut through all the BT + Audio and BT + Headset threads, here and on PDAPhonehome, Howardsforum, and the reduced-to-user-bla-bla on pocketPC-club.nl.
And still zilch.....
Ow, and don't think i'm someone who wants easy answers... Think again, i've been around quite a while on PPC forums and the lot....
What i do want/like is usefull answers ans clues on how this BT and Audio stuff works, beut even after reading some on MSDN i can't find a solution yet....
That's why i jumped in on this thread, i'm not going to reinvent the wheel if some allready has the solution: Tomtom and Phone audio over BT
So i'll stop writing now, and continiu searschin for a solution... There must be one...
Sorry mr high horse, wont bother trying to help next time just in case i might not be right, but then if everyone did that no one would answer anything.
The Wizard can do system Audio over bluetooth.
This has been proved with the easy hack that allows you to activiate voice dial using a BT headset.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=29837
MS Voice Command leaves the Audio Gateway open after initialising, whilst Voice Dialler closes it.
So maybe try installing Voice Command and doing the hack in the above referenced thread, and then see if you can launch Voice command from your car kit. This should leve the gateway open and allow all system sounds to stream to your BT kit until you hit the button again.

Try keeping Himalaya talk in the Himalaya forum then. Posting questions about devices in the wrong forums just causes confusion.

Not Mr High Horse, but didn't you look at what you where posting ? You should know it linked to the same file, right ? If not, you really would just be 'shouting' ...
It's just that i've been reading XXX threads, and just about everyone comes up with the same, useless, files... Like nowbody really knows how it works and waht should be done to make Audio over BT possible...
We here are all trying real hard for months now, you see....
Just a little patience. Test version of Qtek 9100 ROM with A2DP already exists. It works with I-Phono bt-stereo, for example. So I think it will be released by March.

Do you think that when it works with I-Phono, it will also offer us the navigation voice instructions through BT-headsets or carkits? Hope so!
Can't test it with car navigator.
if audio streaming is enabled, i would have thought you should be able to hear navigation commands.
i have used the bt audio switch that started this thread to hear tomtom commands through my headset, and it works fine.
saves me explaining to my 84 year old dad why yoda is giving me directions

It's nice.... I'd really like Tomtom over my carkit... Ohh, the XDA was so much easyer just soldered a Ground and Left/Right channnel into my TomTom/Leadtec connector, and plugged it in to my JVC Front-in line...
I bought the Qtec 2020 because BT seemd so much easyer

Now THAT would be useful! (really useful reply)
This was always possible with HTC devices, I used to do it on my old Wizard. Hermes and Trinity (don't know about others) can't due to the implementation of Microsoft's bluetooth Stack on the newer devices. From what I read HTC's implementation is not completely to Microsoft Specifications.
Haven't tried any of the new roms yet since I don't have time to reinstall all my apps and haven't seen if anyone confirmed if any of the new rooms fix the issue since everyone is too busy playing with the GPS but it would be nice if someone could confirm.
The easiest way is to install Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 and see if it routes audio through the BT audiogateway. Another way is to use BTToggle/On/Off utility to see if it works with the new roms.
Anyone found it?
If anyone has the solution, I would like to know!
John
Dear all interested in this topic
I've tried BTAudio with no luck (i hear a hiss over the handsfree for about 2 seconds then it stops). There is some useful info in these two links but I really dont have time to investigate further atm. So if anyone else fancies having a look, do let us know if you get anywhere,

sorry know I shouldnt do this but BUMP!
I don't know what happens with TomTom but I use Wayfinder as navigation software and if my bluetooth stereo headset is on then the Wayfinder voice plays through the headset.

I had this happen once or twice with my old prophet (but simple on/off fixed any problems). Most of the time everything worked OK (and I used it loads). Have you tried it lots of times - are you certain that it will not work?
I'll answer my own question. I've just tried mine (latest dopod rom, tomtom, HS850 headset) just get a light hiss but no sound - verytime). Sorry!
Surely someone know a solution!
Another forum was suggesting that "You will need to install Windows .net compact framework v2.0 from Microsoft first though"
Also someone else suggested:
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=bluemusic
I am using Dopod D810 with the HTC GPS ROM and I am able to listen to music, calls and all audio via my GG Telecom Bluetooth using BTAudio and instruction as per this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289720
Hope this helps.

I followed the registry hack in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300838
Finally, it works on my Trinity. No need to install any third party programs.

Ford's probably using stereo bluetooth for its connection. You need to enable your phone with A2DP first, then do the pairing. I have had good luck with the Tornado version of A2DP for the Wizard, but only after I overclocked my phone's processor, and made some minor adjustments to the data rates at a registry level.
If you're a noob, you need to do a LOT of reading before trying this, or you'll lose your ability to generate sound altogether. Not as dramatic as bricking your phone, but makes it almost as useless...
Just search these boards, the answers are here. Search.
...and welcome to the XDA Dev boards!

Normally, this is where I say, "Start a new thread, for this new question, because nobody is going to open this thread to answer that question."
However, you've asked a question that usually results in the person asking being lambasted (read: flamed) for asking a question that is, in most cases, a matter of total opinion. As has been said many times before, about this subject:
What's best for you isn't what's best for (nearly) anyone else.

So....that said, I recommend you look at the Wizard Mobile 6 boards, read the Wizard wiki THOROUGHLY, and know your phone very well before you even consider trying to load a cooked ROM, or you will have an expensive paperweight instead of an incredibly useful tool.
Whatever you do, please do not post a question like "What's the best ROM for me?" because only YOU can answer that question, and only after you educate yourself to what's possible, and what your specific needs are.
If you just want to sync your phone to your car, then stick with the A2DP upgrade, and an overclock (OMAPCLOCK via SmartsKey is my preferred method of overclocking). That's my advice, free of charge.
Could anyone help me find a A2DP upgrade. I have honestly hunted, but I am getting confused...

I would highly recommend looking at JETWare BT Extenstion. It adds a lot of functionality that MS left out of the BT stack.

Hi,

With other phones they were pairing automatically. If you search from the radio
Phone >menu then search, after a long wait it finally pairs...

Hi guys, is it possible to have bluetooth stereo on my wizard. Is there maybe a particular rom i must load.
Can any1 help me with this.
Doesnt anybody have any information on this topic.
Dude. Patience.
This site is analogous to a bulletin board, not to a chat room. Sometimes, it takes days before someone with the right answer to your question reads your post. Sometimes, it never happens....and you will almost always find answers if you run a search. You certainly aren't the first person to try upgrading the bluetooth on a Wizard.
To answer you, Yes. There are several options available, ranging from difficult (manual editing of your registry) to easy (load a .cab file or two) to way overdoing it (loading an entire ROM just to get BT stereo) with varying degrees of popularity and success throughout the user population.
I have heard this works on some Wizards:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263745
When I was using WM5 only, I used this successfully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=931212&postcount=1
If you're in love with the idea of flashing an entire ROM for more reasons than just stereo bluetooth, do some reading first, and make sure the ROM you want has "A2DP" capabilities, or you'll be right back here looking at my suggestions again.
Welcome to XDA, and please don't forget to search before asking questions. You'll often save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

BLuetooth stereo is built into the Wizard, with the standard ROM, at least on my T-Mobile (USA) MDA
You just need a BT stereo headset.
Thanks Myrddin Wyllt for the welcome.
