K-Jam English ROM

Goodmorning,
I have one MDA VARIO (UK), where can I find the I-mate K-jam ROM Freeware (English Version)?
And it’s very difficult to install this ROM in my MDA VARIO? (I will must first Back Up my old ROM), how becomes this?

In the ftp there is the rom you want (K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship.exe).
For the other questions, i'm sorry i don't know the answer/s.

you don't need to backup your rom unless you plan to revert back to the original rom in the future. This might or might not be needed in case of a problem with your phone and asking for a repair during the warranty period.
The steps you need to take are:
a. READ THIS FORUM and also the WIZARD UPGRADE forum - take 1 hour of your time and read read read... many people have upgraded.
b. Unlock the Vario and also the CID - using the Lokiwiz utility - read before you unlock - read a lot until you understand what to do.
c. Donwload an I-Mate rom and simply install it by double clicking on it... however like always - READ READ READ

I will answer you even though it is clear that you are not reading the forum.
Once you have unlocked your device using the lokiwiz - upgrading is very simple - you just activesync your device (connect it via usb to your computer - while microsoft active sync software is running - make sure you have the latest one), make sure you have enough battery in your device (it;s best to have 90% or more left) and then simply run the I-Mate upgrade file. And... wait ... and follow the instrucitons on screen.
If my explanation is not clear enough then I suggest you read. It's not fair to help people that just simply won't read. I can assure you that all of what I have said above is written in a much clearer way in the fourms.

Completely Newbie and Beginners Questions (Wizard)

Hi all
I have recently bought a UK MDA Vario, and then I found this site. I have spent the whole weekend reading posts on this website and find it very interesting what we can actually do with our devices. Everyone here seems to have in-depth knowledge of this device and it's programming structure. This is my first HTC device and I have some very basic questions which I'm not sure if anyone here is bothered to answer (or point me a link where I can find the answers).
I can understand SIM-unlock, but...
(1) what is CID unlock (in fact what is "CID" and "SuperCID")?
(2) What is Bootloader?
(3) What is ROM? (is it equivalent to the "Windows OS" we install on PC?)
(4) What is Extended ROM, and what is usually placed in here as opposed to ROM?
(5) Can we just use any ROM on any variation of Wizard, and work?
(6) What is RAPI?

Hey dude,
Welcome on the forums.
I will try to answer your questions.
(1) CID = Country ID.
CID unlock will unlock the country ID on your phone so you can install other roms and also other roms with different languages (e.g. if you have a Dutch MDA and want an English rom)
(2) Bootloader for our phone is like the BIOS on a pc
(3) ROM is like an image.
We have 3 different rom types.
* OS Rom - image that includes the Operation System of our phones
* Radio or GSM Rom - rom is for all phones features, GPRS etc
* Extended Rom - this rom includes additional application, customizations etc
(4) Check answer 3
(5) When your phone is CID or SuperCID unlocked you can install any kind of rom of any language or manufacturor
(6) This enables your PC to control the Wizard using USB ActiveSync connection
Maybe there are some others that can correct me or fill me in.

What is the latest Qtek9000 rom?

Hi all,
Sorry if this is a repeated question, but I cannot make head nor tail of the numerous rom versions out there.
I would like to know what the latest Qtek900 rom is.
Does anyone know of a site where this is available?
I have tried the Qtek site, but when I enter the IMIE of the phone, it will not allow me to enter the site.
I bought mine in Pakistan, so there is not really any support available.

Yeah, I've been unable to get my launcher default to stick. Even after a complete wipe and reflash. So don't really have any advice on a fix

Silly question, but have you searched the HTC Universal Wiki and the forums here?
You mentioned the IMEI - Do you need to SIM-unlock it? If so, there's a link on the Wiki to achieving this for most, if not all, the Universal clones out there (mine is an SPV M5000 and it worked great).
As for ROMs, I found Tomal's ROMs to be pretty darn amazing. I'm using his v8.9 myself, which is essentially Windows Mobile 6.1.
Beyond that, I'm just as much of a noobie as your good self, I'm afraid. I can only advise searching, searching and more searching... The answer *is* here.

which fw do i update to

hi all can someone please tell me which fw version i update my sony x1i to its a uk x1 o2 unlocked current info is:-

oh also how do you turn on phone without using the slide? sorry for newbie questions also when i upgrade fw will my phone still be unlocked? (think it will if its generic o2 as im thinking this is what you need to put on it)
does anyone have garmin xt or tom tom on there phone any instal notes on how to put it on and does it work with internal gps love the phone nice build quality better than my crappy iphone 3g ever was oh lastly so how do i watch youtube vids in hi res and forgot this to err are there any fitness apps for the x1 like there is for iphone....done thanks for reply if i get some

First of all, check the list of new ROMs here:

Check if yours is in the R1 list, and if you can find the similar in the R2 list.
If it's not, hopefully some others with O2 in the UK can help you with that question.
Secondly, if you want to turn on the phone, just press the power button quickly.
Also, if you want anyone to take your questions seriously from here on out, take time to write correctly (with punctuation, for example).

Even better: may I suggest you to check the ROMS LIBRARY thread, which includes ALL available ROMs :
- newest R2A ROMs
- initial release (sept 2008) R1A ROMs
- custom ("cooked") ROMs from xda-devs members
- Transmitter Radio ROMs
The Library is updated daily, thus, if your requested ROM is not listed, it's probably because it is not yet available
(Firmware = operating system ROM)

hi everyone....i want to update windows mobile

right im a total novice, i want to upgrade/update from wm5 to wm6, i have the qtek 9100
device info is as follows, if it helps;
rom version: 2.21.4.1 wwe
rom update: 3/9/06
radio version: 413.1.1.03
extrom version: 2.21.4.101
i want to upgrade it, the phone is getting real old now and the software is looking real out dated, but i love the phone to bits so i dont want to just 'go and buy another phone'
if anyone could help then that would be great, also i need it as step by step as best you can because im no pro!...also i have tried the search and it has came back with a nice bit of info but there doesnt seem to be all in one place
