Seems that connection to SSA working without Wireless modem. It is really tiring to do stop/start , but now mobile seems working perfectly as GPRS modem like other mobiles via Bluetooth

I've been using the Dopod 838pro as 3G wireless modem via USB quite frequently lately and i noticed the connection only stay up for about 0ne hour whereby ftp download is running, as well as other traffic e.g. yahoo messenger running too on the PC and it shld keepalive the modem connection supposedly.
About an hour, the connection will stop and the wireless modem app will stop (we need to click 'start' b4 connect to the usb port in the first place), and the dopod 838pro will perform active sysnc instead. And on the pc end it will fail the redial, wonder has anyone out there encountered this similar problem ?
I've been changing radio rom to test, still facing similar problem. Latest radio rom on my device is 1.20 and still no luck to maintain long hours of modem connection.
Wondering is this pertaining to the operator or the device itself? I'm living in Malaysia and I'm having unlimited 3G data plan with the mobile operator, Maxis.
I used to have this problem and found it was because my phone was set up to automatically check for new emails every hour.

My direct push is disabled and no automated check email, the modem connection still won't last more than an hour
Is this with Modem Link or the Wireless Modem application?
I had the same issue when connecting my old Wizard to the laptop via Bluetooth, but NOT with the Modem Link. So I assume if you use the Wireless Modem application and Bluetooth, that maybe the issue.

this is wireless modem via USB. Initially my practice was turn off Data connection (with the tweak that data connection always-on enabled) via Comm Manager, then use Wireless Modem via USB thru dial-up networking. Yesterday I disabled always-on tweak, it seems it can last 7 hours of modem connection, will test further to validate this...thanks.
Hi!
I'm looking for a Software that allows me to connect to the Universal via WLAN and user it a router that route's me to the Internet over the UMTS/GPRS connection.
If there is no software router available for Windows Mobile, what's about a proxy-server-software...
exactly what im looking for: connect Uni to inet(gprs/umts), start WiFi, and connect my orbit thru Uni's gprsconnection to inet. (or thru btooth i tried everythink possible, nothink works for me)
I have a weird connection problem for a while now (started to come up some time after a rom upgrade, but i am not sure it is really related):
every application works fine when accessing the internet by means of 3G, except netfront 3.5CV. it gives me a TCP error.
if i disconnect the cellular data, and let netfront connect himself, it works perfectly well.
now i have the problem, that internet sharing doesn't work either. somehow i think the problem is related. because when i connect my PC to my i780 by means of bluetooth PAN, the PC reports the network connection as local only, and i cannot access the net from the PC. but the i780 also doesn't try to build up a connection, it seems.
I only have a single connection in the settings, altough the automatically generated o2 settings (generated by the operator settings thingy, i dont use o2 but three) are there too, but disabled in advanced config.
can somebody help me on this? I am on EFN ROM 4 U now and use a Vista PC, but i think this shouldn't matter with a PAN.
Is it possible to use the internet connection of an HDSPA cellular through the BT as if my HD was a PC with BT dialup?
Found!
In Connections you must create a new remote connection with a Bluetooth modem(the other cellular) and the use the numeber "*99#" without username and password...
Works perfectly!
Just for record, you can use any BT phone with support for DUN profile, even a CDMA with Data support. This can be useful where HSDPA is not available and GPRS/Edge is too slow for practical use/costlier.
I have an htc touch running nfsfan's 6.5 rom and recently bought a cheapo bluetooth usb dongle that uses bluesoleil.
I've configured activesync to feed the touch internet via bluetooth and can browse the web and all through that connection, but none of my sip programs can register their connection.
Upon googling it turns out activesync dosnt pass the required udp packets for voip.
The second solution is to create a bluetooth network completely bypassing activesync.
And here are my problems:
- I cannot establish a pan connection from bluesoleil as long as I do not establish a bluetooth activesync first (am able to exchange business cards though)
- If i establish activesync, then bluetooth pan, then disconnect activesync, the pan connection is still active, but I get about 75% packet loss when pinging my router from the phone and apps want to dial the #777 to get internet.
The touch not having wifi, that bluetooth pan connection seems to be my only solution to get voip working on that phone (cell provider phone data connection has very high latency and unusable for voip)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
