Hi there,
Some time ago I purchased a KING OF DOUBLE CARD for my MDA Compact. It seems however that this card is not functioning in my PPC.
I am using a MDA Compact with the original T-Mobile ROM. I only partly installed the cabs because I wanted to get rid of the ugly T-mobile colours.
Could someone please provide me with some help?:
1st: does anyone make use of the KING OF DOUBLE CARD
2nd: What Rom do you have
3rd: Do I have to install something in addition?
etc etc.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards
Wilfried
dont know any answers, but I do have a question...how did you make it fit?
I thought it didnt fit in the HTC Magician....so I bought another and carved up my SIMs
works fine though, using Wivit SIm Status Switcher with it to switch SIMs..
you could try it, its a great app
which model did you buy? what do you mean by "carved up my SIMS"?
He probably means a ghost sim, where you cut the chips out of two sim cards and out them into the ghost sim which is normal sim size.
Hi there,
It is a model where you don't have to cut your sims.
Yes you are right: it doesn't fit that easy however with some pressure on the back of the phone it fits.
The problem however is that my phone doesn't recognize the damn card.
I am cosidering to throw it away and take a second phone with me for the other SIM. Again waste of money. hmmmmm
Best regards

Double SIM work fine on my XDA mini
Hello all,
Just want to share some info, I use Almighty Bicard on my XDA mini, and it's working fine on it, just turn on your flight mode, then turn off your flight mode than you will get your second SIM.
Or you can use SIM master or SIM MAX, it can handled 8/12 SIM no. on 1 SIM card, but some time you have problem to scan your original SIM card.
Thanks, Vireman
Can you point me to the specific dual sim you use??
I bought the ghost sim and couldn't get it to work, I tried on 4 old sim cards and decided not to cut up my work sim and personal sim.
I have been looking for the other typoes which take the full sim cards.
On another note it may not work because you will need to get the T-Mobile phone unlocked to work with another companies SIM.
My work sim is o2 and would only work after the MDA was unlocked.
You can phone T-Mobile ans they will send you the code to do this for £15.
Hallo ishgrnod,
I use Almighty Bicard, You need to cut your SIM chip and put it together on Almighty Bicard. It work like a switcher, If you restart your phone it will switch to another SIM.
Mostly in my country there no phone lock from the operator, I think your problem come from this side.
Thx. Vireman
Isn't there a universal phone unlocker already on the forums?
I use this cut up dual sim in the UK:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6415916094&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1
from this user:
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=slam1416&iid=6415916094&frm=284
Works fine. Just have a steady hand when you cut, measure twice, cut once
I use an O2 contract and orange PAYG. Some reports say O2 contract doesn't work. Mine does, no problems.

I bought a King Of Double Card for my MDA Compact. I cannot get it to fit at all.
I don't really want to chop up my SIM cards either :?
OK, UPDATE:
I got it to fit but the phone will not recognize the cards. I'm using WiViT SIM Status Switcher.
Can anyone suggest recommend a different tool ?
I'm on
ROM Version : 1.12.00 WWE
Radio : 1.12.10
ExtROM : 1.12.131 WWE
WiViT isn't likely to be the problem - it just reads the operator from your network, and the sim phone number stored in your Sim; you may not have one stored in there (I bloody didn't and thought my EVC programming was at fault). See WiViT's faq, or basically open up Sim Manager on your phone.
But, ignore wivit, just ensure you can make a telephone call with either sim. Then, switch over with STK or flight mode off/on and see if you can make a call with the other Sim. If that works, then your problem is with WiViT. If it doesn't your problem is with the sims. See my other posts on these cut up sims - basically, i think Magician doesn't put enough pressure on the back of the "mini sims", and you need to stick some paper down the back of the metal sleave.
V
PS See the thread on Magician today screens to see my Wivit type software...
Hey V, thanks for the advice...
My problem was down to the single SIM end of the Dual SIM not making contact with the connectors in the phone. I have the King Of Double Card Type, as shown in my crude mockup below. ( I dont dare take mine out to take a picture since it took me all evening to get it in right. So please excuse the picture.)
WiViT is working perfectly now, i made sure my own numbers were stored correctly as you suggested, and all is well.
The only problem is, the back of my MDAc is slightly out...but i can live with that i guess (until the MDA Pro (HTC Universal) is released)

Will Any dual sim adaptor fit the Magician or are the specific ones?
Also can anyone link me up to a good one?
EDIT: Does the dual sim adaptor that doesnt require cutting fit or not?
If someone know a quick reply would be appriciated

I've posted a link to the cut dual sim I use. Works perfectly.
V
Thanks VJay, i dont fancy the idea of cutting my sim cards i have to say, does anyone know if the one that DOESNT require cutting fits?
nobody? I need to order it today you see
I think I saw some application where you can use a special sim, and hold up to different 16 SIMS on it, switching with some software clicks. Not sure though.
jaso2005: 16 in 1 won't work in the UK.
There are ghost sims (2 in 1 non cuts), but they are typically external I think. I haven't seen an internal one.
Cut sim worked great for me though!
V
well ive ordered one of the none cut ones in hope that it might just work! lol we shall see! ill keep you updated!
I once bought a 6-in-1 sim kit. i was able to copy only a pre-paid sim, but most regular sims today cannot be copied. i'm now using a brando 10th era no cut dual sim adapter. no need to power off or switch on/off flight mode to switch sims 'coz it has its own stk menu. i had to make my battery thinner though so it would fit.

Did anyone try these dual simcard adapter in a wizard, I got one and maybe the software will not fit to windows mobile 5 but the changing between the two providers last endless, sometimes it needs a softreset to get a connection... need help
cheers
I do use a dualsim adapter without problems. Changing between te two SIM's never lasts longer then 3 to 5 seconds.
Have you tried the adapter in a non WM5 phone?
Cheers,
Cactus
where did you guys get these dual sim adapters? didnt even know they existed, quite interested to have one!
Hi,
http://www.magicsim.com/english/index.asp?new_id=27
They have got all kinds of solutions. I tried the MagicSim16 (16 SIM's on one SIM) but that didn't work, so I had to fall back to a DUAL SIM adapter.

Cactus

Could you post some more references of the dual sim you bought? even a pic to let us identifiy the correct sim in ebay? Thank you
Hi,
I bought the 7th Era Dual SIM adapter. It's the one where you need to cut your sims. I figured the 8th Era solution wouldn't fit in the Wizard without doing harm to the case. I also tried the 9th era but I couldn't crack the encryption from my Orange SIM, the T-Mobile SIM however wasn't a problem at all.
A warning: If at all possible buy a duo SIM from your provider and cut that to pieces. I cut up my TMO SIM and it doesn't make a good connection with the SIM adapter. Luckely I still had the 9th Era card that I cut up with no problems so I'm using that inside the 7th Era adapter.
B.w.t. the 9th Era SIM card also worked with the Wizard. It's the best solution imho, but you need to be able to crack the encryption of your original SIM and as I understand it Vodafone and Orange SIM use a newer encryption that can't be cracked.
Hopes this helps,
Cheers,
Cactus
Hopes this helps.
Hi,
I also have a Wizard and use the MagicSim. I found that the problem is the Radio version. I have the MDA Vario by T-Mobile Germany. The shipped Radio version is 1.40.10 and have no problems with the DualSim.
Yesterday, I tested a newer OS Version shiped:1.3.2.5 (T-Mobile) new Version:1.3.7.11(Qtek). And then I flashed the Radio from 1.40.10 to 1.12.10. I tested my dualsim and nothing was happend, only i restart my wizard.
Than i tested another OS 1.5.4.2 with Radio 1.13.10 and 1.12.10 with the same problem. Than i restore the Radio to 1.40.10 and the dualsim works perfekt.
i hope u understand my bad english
Good luck...
dual sim card
now everything works fine, i don´t know if this comes from changing the network-choice of the handy: I had been in Austria and changed this item into manual ( from automatic). now I put back the old "automatic" modus and the simcard (or the wizard) finds a net in about 15sec... so changing from one card to the other is no problem..
But the backpart (Idon´t know the englisch word) will no longer fit perfectly, but it is only 2mm higher on one side.
cheers

I ordered a dual Sim from Ebay a month ago and received it a week later. Unfortunately I cannot get it to work. It just doesn't fit right, the stress on the battery cover is quite heavy, since the cover is under stresss from sticking out so much. I am afraid the plastic bits will break and the cover will become useless. The stress is caused by the thick little black chip in the adapter, that does not fit into the sim slot. Also I cannot get the adapter to work, the Vario reports an invalid Sim. This can be due to a defective adapter ( caused by me twisting it while trying to fit it without the battery cover being stressed) or by my ROM version or even the T-Mobile Simcards, which have been reported not to work with dual sims in some threads. I previously tried a cut-out dual sim in my Magician, but no dice, the wretched thing would not work. my simcards still worked, but the Magician kept seeing invalid sims. Probably also a case of my destroying the little bugger ( I am not very carefull I guess, but of an impatient guy who cannot handle those cheap ass fragile things).
Ok, my question is: can someone post some pictures of the way they fitted the adapter and how much the battery cover is sticking out?
It would help me big time in deciding if I will try a third time to get it right. thanks people!
I recently bought a MagicSIM from a German eBay seller (http://stores.ebay.de/CironStar) including cutting service. Three days after sending him my two SIMs, I received it back yesterday and it works great in my Wizard!
What I like especially is, that you don't have to enter your PIN each time when switching the SIM.
I still fear those cut-up job ones... even if they do it for you; one wrong move and *snip* goes your SIM - have fun explaining that to your operator :/
I see they now offer a no-cutting-involved version as well. Has anybody tried this type ? It seems like it'd at least double-up in thickness, and there's a chippy bit that goes outside of the area where the SIM goes which definitely looks like it'd get smushed by the battery.. so I'm sceptic
what is the main purpose you guys use a dual sim adaptor? is it because u need to travel from country to country all the time? Another question is, once u have fitted two SIMs in your phone, can they BOTH receive calls at all times if someone called u on either number?
toneslee - yes, dual SIMs auto-switch the active SIM from time to time, and you should be able to receive calls, text messages, etc. on both.
My main reason to do this would be so that I can drop both my vodafone and lebara sims into the thing. Lebara is nice and cheap for my international calls (work, girlie, etc.), but is stupid-expensive for national calls - so I'd like to use my Vodafone for that.
Right now that means I have to keep two phones Which isn't tooooo bad.. but if at all possible, I'd rather just keep the one.
@ toneslee: You CANNOT receive calls on both Sims simultaneously. Your device has only one GSM radio and can handle connection to the GSM towers, data and voice from only one SIM at a time. What the dual sim adapter that ZeBoxx uses can do, is automatically switch which SIM is in use every 1 to 30 minutes, thereby trying to catch as much calls in both numbers as possible. But true simultaneous reception on both SIM cards is not possible. They cannot be active at the same time, so when one Sim is registered in the network the other is not connected and people calling that number get the same thing like your phone is off, e.g. voice mail.
correct Though I thought they switched a little faster than 1 minute >_<
I'm using a cut sim in my magician, although the "technology" is so basic, there's no reason why it shouldn't work with any phone. Cutting was fine, just do it carefully and use thin scissors. In my experience, there's still enough "space" to make a mistake and for it to still work. You have to be quite unsteady to screw it up and slice right through the middle of the "chip" in the mini-sim.
The only problem I had was that the sim was now too thin so I slid some slivers of paper between the metal sleeve and the mini-sims, and it works fine.
I have two numbers, one contract and one historic PAYG that I keep in case old friends don't have the new number.
V
Thanks for the explanations, guy. I understand now.
Anyone tried those
Hi
has anyone tried one of those multi super 16 in 1 sim card thingys..
basically a sim card that you can load with 16 identities...
+ a usb dongle thing to program it..
i was thinking about cloning my sim card so i can keep it in 2 phones one for work and one for when on the lash.
Supersim 16in1
yes, it works fine. I have 5 phone-numbers on it. but you're able to clone only the (old) v1 simcards.
ermm how do i tell ?
How do i tell what version the simcards are ?
Guys,
I am looking for a suitable dual sim card adaptor. I had a look to our sim card holder in the trinity and to some dual sim card adaptors on ebay, but some of them are not compatible for sure with the trinity because of the sim card holder.
Could you guys recommend me any appropriate dual sim card adaptor (without cutting them) ?
Cheers

I am using this dualsim adapter. The tenth generation is working fine (5th version was not working), but you have to cut your sim-cards.
Does this adaptor work with UMTS (3G) SIM-Cards?
Thanks for the quick feedback.
I have just ordered the dual sim card (without the need to cut).
http://www.freeyourmobile.biz/acatalog/dual_sim_cards_.html
type 7 & 10.
The thing is that I do not want to cut them because if I make a mistake I have to pay for the new original sim cards
What do you guys think about the type 7 & 10?
Also, is this dual sim card adaptor fully operational for the 3G?
I have one card which is 2G and the second one whch is 3G, is it a problem for the trinity?
Also, how do you switch? Via a software? or is it built in the dual sim adaptor?
Thanks

I don't have an USIM for 3G usage. I am not sure if it works with 3G. In a Hermes dualsim thread a hear some different sounds (some simcards are working other not).
I switch simcards by using the sim toolkit. The simcard menu is changed form the provider menu to simcard switch menu.
I don't think type 7 & 10 fits in the Trinity case. There is not much space left.
Cutting your SIM cards is not a trivial task, I bought a twin-sim about 6 months back that was recommended on a forum, as working with the magician phone I had.
I still was highly skeptical, so I bought some cheap (£1) sim cards from ebay, cut three of them, and could not get them to work, either in the twin sim, or in the "restore" card.
For some people, it obviously works, unfortunately not for me, next time I need one I will try to modify a cheap spare battery to hold a low profile twin-sim, where you don't have to cut the cards. (On some batteries there is a LOT of insulation around them, where some insulation can be removed.)
But if you want to go down the route of cutting cards, use old sim cards first, is my suggestion.
Well,
I will receive the dual sim car adaptor this week (type 7 & 10). I will let you know. I have already made a simulation, I have put another sim card under the battery to see if the cover will close, it worked. Theoreticcaly that should be fine. I have ordered 2 of them in case one does not fit.
Cheers
Cutting was not a problem with my cards! It works perfectly!
However the only adaptor that works with UMTS (3G) SIM-Cards is the one without the online menu. You have to turn the phone off, then on to change the cards! (Switching to Flightmode and back is enough)
However there will be an adaptor with the online-menu by the end of this month or in february...

What do you mean by "the only adaptor that works with UMTS (3G) SIM-Cards"? Are you talking about the adaptor where you have to cut the sim cards or the dual sim cards where cutting is not required? Do you think that with my adaptor (no cut) it will work then?
I don't think so, if you have UMTS cards. The only on that works is with cutting.
Have a look here: http://www.2-phones-in-1.com/
It is the third one from above... (Universal Dual Sim CDMA)
Guys,
I've received the dual sim cards adaptors today. Indeed, it does not work with both types. It says, sim card is not recognized.
I'll try with my XDAIIi this evening just to check.
Is the dual sim card adaptor where you HAVE to cut is the only option then?
Guys!!!,
I've ordered the 10th generation dual sim adaptor (where you need to cut the sim cards).
The guy send me the 12th generation one...
Yesterday, I decided to cut the original sim cards. After 45 minute of work, I tried it in my HTC, it did not work!
Then, I tried it in a normal phone, it also did not work, I thought it is because it is not the 10th genration.
I thought, if I put some pressure on top of the sim card, some paper between the sim card and the battery, it might work, and yes it worked on the normal phone (2G) !!!
Then, Came the ultime moment... try it on the HTC Trinity...
I put the sim card holder into the HTC. Put a paper on top of the sim, put the battery and put a pressure on it, AND YES , it works great man!!!
The icon DUal Sim Card is available and I can swtich from one network to the other one.!
The flight mode thing (on/off) does not work... We have to go via the STK menu which is user friendly...
The 3G also works great. I see the 3G logo and I've made several video conference. So I am really happy...

Um, if you are talking about altering a battery casing, I'd be very careful about that. I just heard on the news last week that some guy had is moble phone battery blow up while it was in his pocket. He got severly burned and caught the house on fire too. These lithium ion batteries are not something to rip open. I suppose everone has heard of the big Sony laptop battery thing too. Be careful.
SayBorg,
Where exactly did you buy this adapter?
I see there is also a 13th generation availible at this moment but they say this one does not support 3G.
13th Generation
Do you have the 3G Dual Sim, which is on the same site?
Hi,
I bought it from ebay. There are many there. Just make a search. You'll see them.
Mine is 12th and it works. I can not say anything about the 10th or 13th. But if it works on the 12th, I would imagine it also works on the 13th...

Can you tell me something about the battery consuming?
My dualsim adapter consumes a lot of battery power.
With dualsim my battery drains from 100% till 30% (normal usage).
Without dualsim the battery is around 80% at the end of the day.
Which dual sim adaptor do you have?
I've not paid attention to the battery consumption...
I will have a look and let you know
I have a Pinchuang 10th generation.
Which (brand) dual sim adaptor do you have?
A 3G dualsim adapter sounds attractive.
Mine is also pinchuang, but 12th generation.
Battery consumption seems higher but it's too early to confirm it...
The priority for me is to be able to switch sim cards, u can always charge your HTC, that's a negligeable side effect I guess..
DUAL SIM problem on HTC P3600
hi to all,
since two year, i'm using a dualsim adaptator, (two cutted sim) whith no problem on my QTEK 7070, SPV C500, QTEK 9090, QTEK 9100!!! (wonderfull)
but now, on my HTC P3600, this same dual sim have one problem:
when i use the dualsim, my miniSD card run very slowly, but the dualsim run perfectly.... when i use a un-cutted SIM card, my HTC P3600 run wonderfully... and my MiniSD is running FAST!!!
is this append to anyone else?
how do you solve this?
is there a possibility to use two Sim cards simultaniously - i.e. to send and receive calls from two numbres without needing to switch sim cards?
yup, it should be possible.
there are adapters on the market, check ebay..
http://cgi.ebay.com/GHOST-DUAL-SIM-...ries?hash=item22feb30125&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
but you need to cut youre original sim and the extra one..
thewn you stick the (still functional)remains in a the adapter wich goes in the original place where the single sim used to be...
i had one, but didnt wanted to cut up to test it out...
but a college, from wich i got it, said it worked on his touch...
do some research, or mail a manufacturer and find out additional information
they also sell touch pro's and touch diamond's with dual sim already built in.

my question: is it possible to recieve calls simultanioulsy - or must i choose each time a different sim card which is "on" and the other one is "off"?
