Hi
Sorry if this post is not in the right place. I am in great need of help. I am a mobile software developer. A client who is into automation contacted me. The client has a control application that he would like to start up whenever the pocket pc starts. This itself is not a problem, since you can simply create a registry key to handle this. The problem comes in that the application must still start even if the battery has been drained completely and the device start like it does after a hard-reset.
From what I have read, it is possible to create a custom ROM image that contains the key described above. The application could be stored in the backup storage area of the ROM.
I have looked at tools to edit the .nbf files that are available with the ROM updates for the pocket pc from the manufacturer (HP iPAQ running WM2003SE), but I cannot find a clear answer, and my knowledge of Unix is bad at best.
Any help and suggestions from anyone on how to edit the .nbf file or any other method to manage this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

My T-MDA VARIO (Wizard) has turn-off the tekephone and I do not want to perform hard reset which shall resolve this issue. Does anybobody know whether it is possible to turn-on the telephone "manualy"?
Other problem I have (may it is related to the previous one) is that some tinmes the following errorr message apears:
it is not possible to run /windows/timewizard.exe.
When I try to run timewizard.exe manually the system says: it is not a PocketPC application...
Any advice?
Thanx

I was installing MS Voice Command to my s200 and at the s200 there was an error and installation was not successful. After this I can not see the softwares installed in my s200 at Settings/Remove Programs. Also activesync started to give an error and I can connect as Guest :?
What is the problem and the what can I do to repair? I wish there was something like system restore in WM5. I hope I wont have to hard reset.
Need help here
Hard reset does not always have to be so bad!
Look at it from the bright side:
You have a clean device again and installing your software via active sync (if you have installed it via this way before) isn't all that difficult either.
Cheer-up and make sure to buy sprite back up for when it happens again to you.

Ok that is fine. But anyone knows what may cause this and if I can solve without hard reset.
Seems no!?
Hello everybody.
Im developing a hard reset save software which is installed automatically after each hard reset (in this case it's an Intermec 761 with Windows CE 4.20). I also developed an autorun.exe which sets several registry Keys at startup.
My question: does anyone know the registry key for enabling the backlight resuming after tipping the screen? This option is disabled by default...
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi there,
i guess i messed up my EEPROM, as i can't connect to any (secured AND unsecured) WLAN. I flashed many roms, so i can't say when it happened. I read about fixing WLAN by flashing EEPROM / fixing MAC in it. There's a walkthrough for Hermes, Prophet and Athena, but nothing for the Wizard It would be great if someone could provide some infos on how to fix WLAN on a Wizard device. I'm familiar with mtty and such. Any help is much appreciated!
Best regards,
SpeedCore
I tried to find out, if i accidently erased the EEPROM by doing the procedure mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299451
But it doesn't recognize the command "task 32" Maybe there are other commands for the wizard? How can i find out if i have the "no EEPROM no WLAN" issue?
