I've read a lot on this forum about camera APIs (all over my head !)
1/ I'm wanting to take say three pictures using the camera button.
2/ Rename the files.
3/ Post the entire contents of MyPictures to a server using JavaScript.
4/ Then delete the contents of MyPictures.
Only one problem......
I know bugger all about JavaScript !
Any ideas ?

Hey everyone,
I developed this app as a part of my final year project. Initially I had big plans for it (I still feel that PPC lacks strong apps in this area.. OneNote doesn't cut it for me), but got busy with work/studies and forgot all about it.
I have also created a web version for it (sync your data with a web url), but thats too alpha at the moment. If anyone wants to beta test it, please let me know.
I'm uploading the last versions I made of this app to gather some bug reports, problems, crashes, new features etc which people might be interested in.
Keep in mind, I want this app to be so good that people can finally leave their paper notebooks home
I know some things aren't working well or at all, for e.g. synchronization.
Play around with the buttons (the tooltips etc should tell you what they're for)
Features:
arrange data in notebooks and pages. (basically you create a notebook and then insert a page into it..)
There are two modes.. view/edit.. edit mode gives you basic text input where you can format text using the following wiki syntax (effect of formatting is only visible in view mode):
*text* - bold
\text\ - italic
_text_ - underline
+ (add more pluses upto 6) gives you heading (e.g. ++My heading)
~color:green~ any text after this will be green. you can use this for most named colors
[link to another page] link between pages (linking will automatically happen if you use CamelCase/wiki syntax.. you can enforce linking by putting [Notebook/Page name] <-- in square brackets as such. Links can be renamed as well [[renamed link][Notebook/ActualPage]]
You can insert images using the button/menu options. these images are imported into the notebooks directory.
Search notes
tag notes
bookmark notes (you can even bookmark searches, the stored search will be re-run every time, so for e.g. if you bookmark a search with dates later than last week, then it'll give you new results every time)
Maintain clipboard history and auto insert copied stuff into current page. (keyboard is polled every second)
Most important feature:- You can just copy over your notebooks/bookmarks directory (or sync it using any sync tool), and the same notebooks/pages/bookmarks will be available on both PPC and Win32.
Download:
http://ace.xhaven.net/DN-Win32-PPC.zip
Installation:
- Just unzip the win32 and PPC directories to your desktop and PDA.. click on the exe to run program. Should work on wm2003/wm5/wm6
Known bugs/issues:
- clipboard isn't working on PPC
- PPC version is slower, doesn't have softkey support yet
- PPC Icons look wierd
- .... add more?
Disclaimer:
I make no claims that this will work properly, or even execute on your desktop/PPC. I dont owe you anything. Please try this at your own risk.
no one tried it yet?
Nice Idea
Thanks,
This is great idea, i tested the note book, it is good.
But quite difficult to use on mobile, can u change the interface to make it easy to understand and write.
You're right, the PPC version is not that easy to use. Hopefully I'll get some time on this weeked to fix that up, as well as allowing common actions to be performed using hard/soft keys.

Yes that would be cool, waiting for your new version.
Is there any aplication to read mpb files from pc? If they are text files, shouldn't they work with notepad for example?
Thanks
Well, if you mean mobipocket book format, then you can use desktop version of mobipocket reader (freeware, google it) for that. Ant they're not really text files, but compressed xml files (besides text they can contain hyperlinks, images, annotations, etc).
And there is a tread right on top of this forum section to be used for questions. Please do not post treads in this section unless you are CONTRIBUTING. Especially considering the fact that your question doesn't even concern pocketPC's - so what does it have to do with development and hacking?
the mpb files are messages and they are in \windows\messaging. that aplication doesn't open it
Hello all,
Took receipt of my HD today and for the most part i'm loving it...there is however a few things bothering me, and i'm hoping someone can help?
1> How do i create new folders for images, music, ringtones etc?
2> How do i then move things to the relevant folders?
3> How do i get album info for music if i dont already have it?
4> How do i resize an image and save it as wallpaper so it fits?
Thanks for any help you can give....
wallpapers - look under the themes / apps sections section
move folders - use 3rd party file explorer (deafult explorer won't let you expore windows folder ... ) or through active sync / explore - most of the programs can be found in /windows /start menu or programs - just drag and drop .... make new folders etc etc.....
sms tones should be copied directly to windows folder on the phone ..... ringtones, they seem to be stored in my documents / my ringtones on the phone
images - default seems to be in storage card DCIM blah blah blah
as for 3 & 4 ...not sure... but A search on the forums will help you through the other problems you stated
hope this helps....

1. Use one of the file explorers used. Work on same process as file exporer on your pc.
If using File explorer to, to create a new folder press File > New Folder or hold down stylus/finger > new folder
If using Total Commander, press file icon with + on it
All ringtones should be saved to either /windows/Rings or Storage Card/My Documents/My Ringtones. Obviously less space taken up on computer is stored on storage card
2. To move things, select and hold down them by either using finger or stylus. Window should pop and select send to
4. Try reading a few of these threads

There are plenty more out there if you search for 'Wallpaper' in the forum

Make sure the MP3 tags + album pics are in order on your PC before transfering it to your HD. Use any ID3Tag editor to do this. Once the info is correctly set up in the MP3 files, it should show up in the musicplayer.
Thanks to you all for the replies, i've managed to do most of the stuff i needed to...just one more thing though, i got a HD because of its size hoping my big sausage fingers would be able to use the keyboard, and although i still can it could be easier, is there a way of turning the keyboard to landscape rather than portrait as default?

Latest manila versions and roms you can rotate 90 degrees to landscape so you have option of both portarit and landscape.
Also, for example Duttys latest roms he has an application called FlipIt (do a search) where you can select rotation angles for apps, so you could actually set certain apps to only work in landscape.
I've encountered a wee bit of problem trying to view jpeg files.
Altho my files are sorted by Name - when I try to view them in sequence (e.g. pg 1, pg 2, pg 3 etc), they can jump from pg 1 -> pg 5 -> pg 7 -> pg 4 -> Pg 32 etc. There are no problems viewing these jpeg files on my pc in sequence, but it becomes a pain when I try to do so on my HTC HD.
I read a lot of manga, and they're in jpeg format.. so it's virtually impossible for me to try to access these... and read them in the sequence I'm supposed to.
When File Explorer opens up, it shows all these files listed in sequence.. but tapping on one file, and having it go to the next file from album, it just jumps randomly.
I was advised to use a 'better file explorer', so I installed Resco Explorer, but no luck there either (same problem).
Would appreciate any advice on how to solve this problem.
Thank you!
can't say I've seen this problem on the HTC album, probably the sequence names.
but since its all manga, have you tried a comic book reader instead?
Would a comic reader be able to read jpeg file, or would I need to have a different file extention/format to read them?
The weird thing is, the jpeg file names are named in sequence e.g. p1 p2 p3.. and so on... and on the pc, it reads it with no problem.
But on the htc, altho the names are also in sequence, when read from the photo album, it just seems to jump all over the place when I move to the next photo... no guarantee it will be p2 next...
A late thought on jpeg sorting in HTC album

I´m looking for a tweak to add albums in HTC Album and stumbled on this thread. I know it´s an old one but here´s my 2 cents:
Is the album sorting on timestamp rather than name? The album probably sees time as more important when You take your own pics and wants to show them. Try and set filedate stamp in (reverse) order.
Hope it helps (if You haven´t already found a solution)
Hello and Good Day, first my History,
Maybe someone can give an old man help. Currently my three HTC THD are defective, they have long held. Now I bought two new at Amazon and am currently doing this set up. Both new machines had a very old ROM. Have both on the presumably last originals HTC which is available in Germany, flashed.
Until now everything works. Only the original wallpaper I do not want. (WM 6.1, WM-green, red guava, Win-standard) on the old equipment I had these images, see below. I know that these images have been altered. I do not know how.
I installed them in two ways:
1) Start / Explorer / My Documents, from there the menu background image. Result milky, green bar up and down.
2) Before Intergrierung on the device changed from to. Jpg. Tsk, then copied to the Windows folder from the device. But Windows Mobile has not my fair dealing noted. Now the pictures have a double name XXXX.tsk.jpg
Explicitly, these images are milky, when I run it and also have a different colored top and bottom.
Who can give me a good guide (I'm older)
or
Who can I send the images (As) and can make use of these images an installation Cab. Of course I'll give a donation.
In an hour I would like to make a second request. This is perhaps much easier, since I only need a registry key.
It greets
Dieter

You can use ActiveSync - Explore to rename (see picture - ActiveSync_Explore.JPG).
Or you can also use the phone's File Explorer (see picture - File.JPG).
Open FileExplorer. Go to My Documents - Pictures. You can press and hold on the name of the wallpaper file. A box will come up and you can choose to rename it to XXXX (File Explorer will automatically insert the .JPG).
