Change IMEI in XDA1 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

How i can change IMEI in XDA1, ROM 4.01.16 RAdio 4.21.00. XDA Manipulator cant read SID lock + GID lock and IMEI. Program write some ERROR.
Thanx

Just for your knowledge nobody here will give information. It is illegal in virtually every country to change IMEI and nobody will support this as in 99.99999999 % of cases it means a phone is stolen an d we pay a lot of money for our phones and we hate people who nick these phones. the best bet if your phone was legally obtained is contact your network provider and they usually will provide you with the necessary info
straff

It is your radio version that is preventing using xda manipulator, I dont think it is possible to downgrade either but I may be wrong. If you wish to unlock your xda then download developers special edition.

like "tecnical questions-hardware questions-software questions and so on..
one more question..
if u read my post above u see that i am trying to unlock my simlock on O2..but now..i thought about it..what is if this what stands there (simlock : <none>) is correct!!?? i dont have a simlock?!maybe..look i can use a D2 simcard..all works fine but!:if i loose networksugnal..i have to turn off an on again the mobile..cause otherwise it would stay without neworksignal the whole day!..my question:do i have a simlock??
or wouldnt it be able to use any other card if i had a simlock to O2?
pleas help!

From the above I would conclude your phone is indeed not SIMlocked, but you are experiencing problems related to Radio Stack version 4.14. The answer is to upgrade to 4.16 or 4.17, which both exist and are floating around, but haven't been offered as official upgrades yet.
But if i put my xda in bootloader moder there stands version 5.14!
if i reet it normaly there stands 3.14? which is my radio version?
wher can i get a new one for germany?
can i upgrade via dockingstation?
Version numbers
There is a whole bunch of version numbers associated with the XDA:
The Microsoft PocketPC OS version
The HTC software version (3.00.01 through 3.15.something)
The Radio Stack version
The protocol bytes
The Wallaby Bootloader version
Each version number represents the version of some different part of the software. Your bootloader is a separate thing with a separate version number, not related to the rest of the ROM. Your bootloader could well be present before the device gets a plastic casing and is told whether it's going to live a life as an O2 XDA. a T-Mobile MDA or a Siemens SX56.
A certain HTC version will be built based on a certain release of the PocketPC OS, with all the HTC specific drivers and additional (O2 or T-Mobile) related programs added.
The Radio Stack version depends on the software loaded into the GSM part of the device, and can vary independently from the OS. There's different versions depending on whether its a 900/1800 (Asian/European) or 900/1900 (American) phone.
ok but where can i get a update for a german xda?can i get it free without paying in an O2 shop?
Where can updates been found?and how do i upgrade my rom version?

Your phone is sounds like BARRED / Black listed, and if this is the truth then this is not the case of unlocking the phone, You have to findout either your device's IMEI have been reported stolen or lost.

Are you in Isreal? Chances are, if this phone is barred in a country, it shouldn't be barred in another country. If you are not in Isreal, chances are your phone is not barred. But, chances are, this Isreal company knew that this phone is barred in country X and the phone should work on Isreal, but not in country X. Are you in country X?
And, as the above post mentioned, K-Jam should be unlocked by default. Hence it may not be a sim lock problem (eg you've also tested with an Orange SIM).
While you are at it, you can try hardresetting it ?

MDA Locked-and-can't-be-unlocked III

As I am writing this, another MDA Compact III is booting for his release from his SIM/CID-lock...
Imei-check's website is now asking for an IMEI...
I AM going to unlock it... With or without a free solution...
But don't think, really, don't think that I am sad because I PAY money to get it unlocked.
I'm sad because we couldn't find a method AND I don't see anybody working on it.
(Except for me and I'm no expert on this, so it's more of a 'treasure hunt' than research.)
I miss buzzdev's motivation...
O.G.
Why is it so complicated to find a free solution?
I have a O2 XDA Orbit and a T-Mobile MDA Compact III.
One is simfree, the other not.
Where is the simlock or netlock implemented (in RadioROM /GP3 / GP4 or whereelse ?) - why is it not possible to copy the files over the existing locked files?

Because simlock is not in a file.
It's a security code on an address in the memory.
Hard to find, hard to edit, so it's hard to unlock.

Asking all the WHYs...please attempt all the WHY NOTs....and profer a solution.
I am willing to assist OG...if you have any ideas.
I dont have an extensive knowledge of handhelds, but am an enthusiast, in the IT profession, although I earned a free code from tupisdin....this is what makes me want to help...It seemed simple and tied to the IMEI number

Sorry i have no idea. I only try to understand why it is not so easy.
And perhaps we can help?
it should not matter about devices being CID locked now as there is the USPL tool which was made available so you can upgrade to other network rom images. also from what i beleive, all artemis devices are sim unlocked, so there is no need to pay to unlock it now if there is no reason to.
i know USPL does not perminantly unlock it, but its a start...
I am not sure but i think the USPL unlock resets the CID and not SIM or NET lock. In so far it might be helpful to get the device "sim unlocked" to use sim cards from different providers.

Here is what HTC have to say RE Hard RESET and SIM Re-Locking .... for HD2

Dear all,
I simple question to HTC, (1) if they could provide me with an unlock code and (2) if a ROM update with an unlocked phone would void the warranty.... Funnily enough I got this reply... out of point I know.... but it led me to realise something else....Read on ...
Dear Sir
, Thank you for contacting us. In regards to the Rom and unlocking, I can help you with that. The unlocking code will only let you use another sim card in the device for calls and texts, the software on the device will still remain. As the device is branded the original software cannot be removed. If you do a hard reset on the device has been unlocked the code will not work again and phone will be once again locked to the network provider. Thank you for contacting HTC. Best regards, HTC Support

I looked up the internet and did not find sufficient proof that indicates if the above is correct or not.... I guess they are not saying the truth ... So question is this... If the phone requires a hard reset ... and it has HSPL/2 right now on it ... Would this mean that the Sim Lock will be back? And the unlock code which I put in will be no longer valid? Personally I find all this a big load of crap .... Because if the IMEI does not change ... and the code is created via the IMEI ... I don't think it makes sense to say that the "unlock code will not work again and the Phone will be locked". But before I jump to any conclusions, I would like to hear the opinion of the clever guys out there ...
This email was interesting .... I wonder what's up in HTC's customer supports' minds ...
Regards
Al
I guess HTC is only talking and can only talk about default ROMs, not custom roms, if you have hspl your device you will no longer get support from htc.... anyways, HSPL is not the same as sim unlocking your device, check the wiki pages.
I didn't make myself clear that must be it.....

I guess you didn't understand me .... I know that sim unlocking is not the same. The thing that bothered me was whether HTC is saying the truth aka
"Is it true that HARD RESETTING would make you LOSE the sim unlock code and it would never work again? Yes or no?"

Many Thanks again for your answer
once u unlock ur device to be used on another network and u change the radio or rom the device will still continue to be unlocked... i hav 2 devices 1 is the hd the other is the hd2 and both are unlocked and hav different roms and radios
I have a question regarding this too.
I've heard that TMobile US has a separate IMEI number than the one on the device on the back.
Is this true?
Now for unlocking it has been suggested that you get it from T-Mobile. If you don't, it will most likely fail to unlock.
Is that true?
And finally has anyone that unlocked their phone directly from T-Mobile hard- resetted their HD2?
if you bought the hd2 from Tmob "outright"..they will provide the unlock code
I have the Tmob provide code for my hd2, yes it worked and still worked after a hard reset

I do have one final one. How long did it take for T-Mobile to get the code for you?

I DID not get my unlock code from T mobile directly. They said its a genuine unlock code ... but i did not attempt a hard reset yet. Is this hoax true????? That if you HARD RESET your phone your UNLOCK code is gone YES OR NO? I seem like i cannot get the message through .... Anyone HARD RESET his phone and got it sim locked again? And anyway it does not make sense to say that the unlock code wont work anymore because the IMEI remains the same ... so this is not really sounding like a true statement from htc .....but i want to hear of somebody who hard reset his phone and got his t mobile unlock code not through t mobile to make sure...... I will ask the people who helped me out with the unlock service and will get back to everyone with a confirmation ....
As for the other guy who said that T mobile have got a separate IMEI .... the answer is NO. They all have ONE IMEI.... the only thing I can confirm to you is that T mobile CHANGES the Unlock codes to a system of their own, hence a genuine htc unlock code WON't work on ANY T mobile flashed device...... and there is no need to get the unlock code from t mobile ... it would take you like 3 months if u ain't got a contract + they will force you to do a contract for a minimum period of 90 days.... a Huge f**k up considering that you might not even be on t mobile or worse still not even in the country . ....
There are good services out there ... mine took exactly 9 hours to get unlocked......from time of payment
Many Thanks
oops.. wrong forum
Yeah, the reply you got made no sense... unlocking the phone out of a preset carrier is relative to the IMEI of that phone and not on the software status installed on there... as if a carrier was able to determine os/version of your phone upon connection and forbid access if they notice (?) you did a hard reset
Please help

Does that mean after u did the hard reset; the phone was locked again and u had to re-enter the unlock code??
I'm asking about that coz i bought my TMOUS HD2 already unlocked but the seller did not provide me with the unlock code!!
Does that mean that i have to buy the code to use it if i hard reset the device???
Plz help!!
no, once unlocked it will stay unlocked.
Glad
Glad to hear that!! No need to spend more money then!!
Thanx mate!!

Carrier Unlock Verizon Model

Hello xda-developers community!
In a few days I will be acquiring my friend's old Verizon HTC Trophy. I know that it's dual-band CDMA/GSM, and it has a Verizon SIM card in it. I use an iPhone 3GS on AT&T. Is it possible for me to carrier unlock the Trophy and use my AT&T SIM card in it? I really need a phone upgrade but my contract with AT&T ends in a year and a half. I'd prefer to be able to unlock the Trophy without having to use a site like freeunlocks.com and such, because i don't really trust them...
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
drsn0w
On a related subject. Does Verizon lock out the US GSM bands on this phone like they did the global droid models?
If so, thats something else you need to deal with.
Im presently researching this, and may report back with what I find.
Also, if you cant get a carrier unlock free, i've used swiftunlocks several times in the past with great results. And he's cheaper then most of the others.
Unfortunately, it seems that I won't be getting the phone after all. apparently Verizon wants it back
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

most likely, you have the code wrong.
confirm you sent the correct IMEI.
Use the one from the phone software. *#06# in GSM mode, and NOT one on a label.
when i press *#06# i get 35176404780445101, in about it is 35176404780445
both unlockers used 35176404780445 when gave me code
what is problem i dont know
please help me, i have proplem like this first time, i unlock lot of phones but this 65k attemps is something evil
