I am having problem with PowerCAD CE 5.2.2 and new ROM 1.72 on Qtek2020. It doesn't work correctly anymore. Is tere someone who has the same problem?

I've now installed 1.66ITA and I'd like to upgrade the OS 1.72 imate. How can I get 1.66ITA vers back up from my qtek? In case i dont't like the new 1.72 vers can i get back?

I've combined the new radio ROM 1.17
(you can download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=1374) and the italian ext and CE rom and now I can receive and trasmit faxes without any problem...
KSE Truefax is a good software (a little bit expensive but very good!)

I've tried many kinds of roms: 1.60, 166, 172, WWE. ENG, I-mate... without any success... some times working.. sometime no...
I've discovered that the problem is the version of Radio ROM.
At last I've download the new radio rom 1.17, i've combined:
1.72.04 ITA CE ROM
1.17 WWE Radio ROM
1.72.128 ITA ext ROM
I've changed the language of the radio ROM with ER2003Edit (you can download here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/ER2003Edit )
and i've upgrade my Qtek2020...

P.S the downloaded file is a archeive .rar you have to extract the radio_.nbf file. You must upgrade the CE Rom and the Radio rom toghether. you can avoid to upgrade the ext Rom (to save your time)

Of course... you have to call your provider (Movistar?) to get you a fax number on your SIM.

first you should update the radio rom, or you will have trouble by flashing a new rom. (watch the wiki)
i would suggest xplodes WM 6.1, because it´s verry stable and clean.

i would change the rom just because i was not able to update the radio rom ( i have used the wiki but it returned several error anyway ).

I have 2 questions :
Is this ROM "ROM WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19965 (Build 19965.1.2.3 PV DVH) - V12" newer than "ROM WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.20226 (Build 20226.1.3.0 PV DVH)" ? I looked at the screenshot from pdaviet website and I think so but the build number confuse me.
Have I only to put the Cabs directory at the root of the Storage card or have I other things to do to make extrom cabs installed with the hard reset ?

make folder named "extrom" then put it those cab, you can add/remove software as u wish with editing file cfg.txt
Dear forum members,
During my rom development from 6.1 to 6.x/7.0 i faced an interesting and undocumented MS registration.
I think it is the Real Rom Version in any Rom cooked or genuine.
If you do not have regedit or dotfred taskmanager all ready installed, install it first.
Now you can go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\IFFS and see the two values:
1. MajorV: 0x00050002(327682) [ This is the OS version 5.2 (for examble) ]
2. MinorV: 0x00004B0C(19212) [ This is the Build version 19212 (for examble) ]
Read it to find the MS/Real (?) version of your rom.
N.B.: Do not try to change them because you may end up with a non working rom that needs hard reset.
