How do I uninstall programs that have been installed from the extended ROM that do not have an entry in "Remove Programs"?
ya ... i also wanna know the same ...
alternatively what cab does what in the extended rom so that i can install them as i wish after a hard reset ...
any1? i know there are lotsa geniuses out there ...
After a hard reset, before it starts to install the programs do a soft reset... it stops all default apps from installing.
Other than that... im not sure...
Use a program like CAB manager to learn about the content of the cab-files. Or view them with winzip etc. The default ext-rom cabs have a 'no-uninstall' option, probably that's why you cannot see them in the uninstall screen. But use the previous tip: hard-reset and soft-reset before the customization starts, to end with a clean device. Then install from ext-rom what you think you need, maybe after hacking them, sonyou can uninstall them.

Hi all,
I would like to burn "Eye on thief" into the ROM.
http://www.mycnknow.com/LockAppen.htm
Any easy tip ?
Thx.
Please can someone help?
I'm interested too...
Good idea
That looks pretty cool anyone know if it will reset to default ie Clear Storage if it gets stolen and I send it a text
You can hard reset remotely and you can delete all sms and contacts remotely, but I don't know if this deletes everything on external storage, I think it doesn't and anyway I'm not gonna try it hehe!
It should be very useful to know how to install the app in rom and make it persistently working also after hard reset, please someone?
Right yesterday after writing here I were able to copy app's files in extrom thanks to olipro's unlocker, set the app's autorun and locked/hide extrom again by schap's advanced configuration tool, which doesn't work anymore now Anyway extrom is hidden and eye on thief runs because I can hear its beep! The question is, will it continue to autorun after an hard reset?

Ive not installed the app in question, but if i understand the ExtROM correctly, the user has 3 seconds to cancel the installation of files in the ExtROM after a hard reset, which means they could bypass the reinstallation of EOT.
I could be wrong
The matter is EOT doesn't have a standard "cab" installation but only an exe, a dll and a ini config file...the only thing that makes it "installed" is the autorun check mark set when you open its exe...and I don't know what it does and if it makes eot work again after hr...
I've just understood that the Autorun check simply copies a link to the app in the startup folder.
How can we do this by a autoinstalling cab in extrom, together with the apps files?
You might want to check the development area for my SecurIt application which is my project after trying to do the same things with eye on theif etc. It's in a early stage right now, but it's functional and not terribly difficult to burn into a rom.
Hi, please help me when I am scrolling in the TouchFlo 3D than the TF3D everytime restart. It is in all tabs. Just when I scroll the application crash and started again and it is so next time and next time. I made 3 hard resets and every time when I connect Touch HD to the PC over the ActiveSync and install the applications, the TouchFlo 3D make it again. I install only the Total Commander, copy the fonts and that´s all.
I have read the topics that when they go to the pictures or music the app will crash and they solved the problem but by me it is in all tabs !!! I have try it and haven´t helped me...
Sorry for me English but please be anxious to understand me.
After a hard reset you don't have the problem until you install Total Commander? If that is the only thing installed then that must be the problem, re-download it and start from a hard reset again.

I have installed most of application and yet is no problem. But I´m afraid the Touch HD connect over the ActiveSync. Also I will install my applications only from memory card. And yes I haven´t installed the Total Commander. This can be the problem. I will try it and write again if it will be all right. I will install also the newest TC. Thanks
EDIT: Ok I have installed the newest Total Commander (but not over the ActiveSync) and is all ok. I will not install the apps over the ActiveSync. I think that this was a problem.
EDIT2: Please can you tell me how can I extract from the ActiveSync application the *.cab file?
EDIT3: Uff I had synchrosed my contacts I was so afraid. I think that is problem only by installation of applications... but what I must do when it will crash again? I must make hard reset? it is waste of most time to install all again.
I need help trying to uninstall this program, i installed Milillicuttis Background, and when it asked me on my diamond where to install i installed on my internal storage, but the program messed up my clock and my call history so when i go to settings>remove programs> its not there!!! Amd I cant find it anymore and i think it might be because i downloaded the file on the internal storage! Some please help me find a way to remove it! I did several soft resets, and im trying to avoid from doing a hard reset!
Thanks[/B][/B]
yes can someone please come up with a solution to this?
First, try to delete all the folders of the program you istalled.
if it don't works, the final solution is an hard reset, but first backup all your files!
And the right program to do a backround as you wants is mUnbackgraund changer
P.S: when you install new mods, you have an hight risk of a hard reset
Sorry for my english, i'm italian...
I have a problem that is completely driving me crazy....whenever i remove any program on my xperia ....there is always some files remaining in the program files, and being a perfectionist i always try to delete them, but get an error reporting that the file is in use, which annoys me even more because it means some process is still running
p.s up till now this happened with google navigator, and a tweak tool i downloaded from here before....plz help me , don't want to hard reset every time i want to uninstall a program !
why is it o body want's to help me ??
a) have you thought other people might have a reallife(tm) and not be on here 24hrs 7days per week ?
you asked less than 4hours before you post moaning?
b) this is not a support forum
c) you need to give more information
how did you install the programs?
how did you remove the programs?
what files are left?
have you soft reset after uninstalling the progs?
what software are you using to see the folders?
if you have files that are in use you need to soft reset.
I humbly ask sorry.....
Well to view the folders i use the normal file explorer....i did a soft reset but still on deleting the program folder it tells me it is in use....tried installin and uninstalling again google navigator (trial) but nothing, it also gives me an error on start up telling me the process could not be launched....is this normal.....
P.S: again i ask sorry for stressing so much to get a reply
i had the same problem. to solve it, use file explorer and go to: My Device-Windows-Startup, from there delete the file which have Agent written (something like GAgent, i forgot). After deleting it, restart (soft reset).
Then use file explorer to delete the google navigator folder
ok i deleted gagent and this solved the problem....bu there is another file....i don't remember its name precisely i guess sth like "GNagent" ....should i delete this one ... I tried to but i cannot .....and i accidently renamed it ....can you tell me its correct name ?, cause i'm afraid it's a system file :s

That's not a system file.
Also find, download, install and use total commander, there's either lots of cabs onthis forum for it, or search for the manufacturers website.
It's a Free file manager that's much better than the built in one. It allows you to overwrite files in rom amongst other things. It may well delete the file for you.
Total Commander would help at deletting softwares? that could be nice, for example, I installed the mtoday, and, I am not able to uninstal it...I do understand waht is a hard reset, but the soft one, sorry, this is still not very clear for me...If I would guess, would we need to make a soft reset, each time, we uninstall a software? does would help to clean after?
thanks you

soft reset is when you stick the stylus in the whole in the back, or turn the device completely off and on again.
If there's processes still in use on the phone then a soft reset will stop them being used, (unless they are set to start-up again automatically)
for example, if you install a dialler skin then want to get rid of it. After uninstalling you'll need to soft reset to make sure the dialler is not locking the files so they can be deleted.
