ActiveStync won;t work

Please help:
AS - simply reports a sync error - thats it nothing else, I have reboot ed mt desktop and latpo several times.
Any ideas??

don't u think that ur problem needs a little bit more explanation than u offered,like what's ur device(obviously it's a himalaya,but what brand),what's ur OS,what version of AS are u using,what type of synchronization are u trying to establish(bt or USB),what happened,or it's the first time u try synchronizing,etc....!!!!!
plz explain more,then i'll be glad to help...if I can :wink:

It's an iMate - it was working yesterday (Connected via USB) - today when connecting it tries to connect then just says 'Syncrhonisation Error' on Activesync main screen. That's it.
Tried a different cradle, and rebooting both DPC and PPC. still the same thing.
It has thre original ROM with WM2003.

try downloading AS 4.0 from the ftp or buzzdev.net,or even from M$ website,then make sure that "allow USB connection" is selected in "connection settings,it should work smoothly unless u have some hardware issue...
Note that to install AS 4.0 or 4.1,u need a windows XP OS with SP2 on ur desktop/laptop...

Unable to Syn with PC after upgrade ausdim's Rom!

Hi All,
I need help urgent. My dopod can't syn with Pc after i successfully upgraded to ausdim's Rom! Right now,i can't install softwares, can't connect with pc. I want to use other Rom but since there is no connection so i can't do anything.
Already try every possible ways(disable firewall,Hard reset,Uninstall/reinstall Active Syn4.5, tried with activesyn 4.2,Retard the Pc....) But unsuccessful...
Drivers is all good as there is no yellow "!" mark in the Device Manager. (Yes, i can syn my HP 2490 WM5 with PC)
I think the problem is the Rom itself.
Please help me, I do not wish to bring it to repair center as it too far away from my house.

TRY FIRST S_WIND...
Don't worry ! Rom and device are ok!
Have you tried to make an Hard reset? If you don't , try now and let us know.

I tried both ways you mentioned (hard reset, and "go to settings-connections-usb to pc and NO enable advanced network functionality")
When i plug the usb cable in, there is nothing happen However there is yellow light indicate that the device is charging.....

have you tried restarting your PC??

Go to your pc...click on active sync icon with right key , go to connection settings and flag usb connection.let us know

Yes, i restarded my PC after i Re-install Activesyn 4.5....
And i did reflash (via Mini Sd card method) the device to another rom (PDAVIET) but problem is still there...
I tried to syn with my other 2 laptop as well but both of them don't make any connection....
Very frustrating...

Probably during the update procedure some files have corrupted , please wait , i search solution...

Download this program : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/mtty.exe ,
DISABLE USB PORT FROM ACTIVESYNC, PUT DEVICE IN BOOTLOADER AND START MTTY , NO SELECT COM , AT THE END OF COM MENU , YOU FIND USB , SELECT IT AND TYPING :

info 8 ENTER

Now , remember to reable usb connection in activeSync and try synchronisation , if doesn't work , reflash the rom.
This procedures , should be erase corrupted files.

How do i type those? i pick USB and click OK, then the message showed up "USB PORT CAN NOT OPEN" !

i think the phone usb is not working. When i install WM5TORAGE and try to use the mass store option the computer don't pick the connection...
are there any change to fix this problems?

Problems on start-up

I've just installed WM6 onto my XDA IIs
And when I start-up there were some problems
A Warning appear that : The file "PhoneService" cannot be opened.Either its is not signed with a trusrted certificate, or one of its component cannot be found, If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
The sesond one is "sms_alert_fix"
Can you guys hep me so solve these problems....thanx alot

Have you installed the updated .cab files from Xplode?
Edit: Will be called ".cabs2"

phoneservice was part of eten phone tools and it is not compatible with our phones, and wm6 i think, about sms_alert_fix i have not tryed it and don't know what it does in wm6

The problem with me now is i cannot connect my divice with my PC
Active Sync does not work. A message appear that : active Sync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. To troobleshoot the problem, click OK. I've followed those troobleshooting step but cannot solve anything...

I know it's quite silly for me but i cannot hard reset my BA
I have pressed and hold the power button then press the reset button but there's nothing better, the BA just reset but there's no change.
I've downgraded it to Windows Mobile 2003 then upgraded it again to WM6 but all the settings at the first time I installed WM6 and configed are still there.
I also try to uninstall Active Sync and install it a gain too.
My PC use Windows XP, and when i try to connect the BA to another PC that use Windows Vista, it worked. So i think the problem was from my PC.
But now i wanna hard-reset it but i can...oh...i'm getting crazy with this...

Try:
1. disable advanced usb (or enable)
2. soft reset/hard reset
3. uninstall previous PC drivers

I've tried but nothing change. on the p3600 I read error 608.

I had a problem where the phone would connect to active sync, but would generate an error on the PC and would not sync.
After a good google, I found that this is a common problem with no specific cause (mine was caused by some SPB software).
I think you will waste a lot of time removing software, changing settings etc (like I did) so best thing to do is back up any important stuff and do a hard reset.

Active Sync Problem

Hello guys,
I have a problem. My p3300 does not connect through Active Sync.
Its everything oright, and with my S200its orght.
The rom is not the original, is a WM 6.1
Is possible that exist some sort of problem with that rom that doesnt connect with the pc, or is the phone USB port (it charges, but don't comunicate).
How can i change the rom, without been with active sync?
I have a SD 2gb card, but i can't make a partition on it, and make a SD Flash. :S
Can anyone help me?

download and install the latest version of active sync
make sure that on the conncetions tab the USB connection is tabbed

Reinstall the A.S. 4.5, soft reset the pda, and reconnect, restart the pc and still nothiing. :S with my S200(prophet) don't have any problem. :S

I have the same problem i cant sincronize the pda whith the activesync and i wish to change the rom. Now it's in france and i wish to change it to english, and it's locked to orange france i think. What can i make? It starts in bootloader, but the instalation from the card is not starting. thankx

it could be the pins not connecting properly on the device to usb..

look at device, turn it upside down, now look at the charge slot on device..
Imagine the little picture iv drawn is the charge slot on the device..
''.'' are the ''pins'' on the device..
get a pin and sprize/pull them out SLIGHTLY..
the ''pins'' are hard to see but this could be the problem..
* my p3300 stopped charging, activesync, the lot.. this is MY quick fix!

Yes it charges, and i tryied another pda to connect to this pc and it works fine, i changed the mini usb connector, because it was broken

Yes, i tested with other pc (4 pcs in total), and the P3300(artemis) isn't recognize by Active sync, but it charges through the usb, but with my S200(prophet) don't have any kind of problem, and connect a Razr X (motorola) to test the cable to and keep working to, so the problem is in the phone.
I tried to clean the conector and all usb contacts still in place and working (have te 5 pins and they move up and down, normally)
in bootload mode it recognize by apearing in the bootom left the USB indication, but have the 260 error in everyway i try to connect the phone to pc.
any help?? :s

I have already download the most recent version (AS 4.5), 3 times, and reeinstaled more than 5 ou 10 times, on the office pc, and home pc's.
It's still the same, no connection or syncronising :S
Don0t know more what to do.. :S

Just an idea.
On your device (not on PC)
Go to Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC and change the setting (tick or untick the extended network option)

Do you know how to hard reset your Artemis ? it has works for me one time with the same problem...
But you have to save ALL your data first and reinstall everything after...
(you will find in the forum if you don't know how to hard reset)

i don it a couple of times, with no sucess. :S
I tried to flash a new rom throught the SD Card, but with no sucess to..
i download several ones, and keep to tell that its a invalid certificate, and tried othr been from HTC, tht dont do anything, pass directly to the 3 color bar menu. nothintg more hapend.. :S

It seems that you haven't CID unlock your device before flashing a new ROM... but you need to have a good working active sync connection to do it !
see : artemis USPL in the forum or artemisUSPL_nosize (i cant' post url)
(with the second one you can flash any ROM size without any problem)
Maybe if you find a way to do it with SDCARD, you will be able to flash a new ROM, but maybe you have a hardware failure...

but theres my problem.. i dont have a working A.S. connection between the phone ad the pc. :s
most probably is the rom that don't communicate with the computer, because it charge, so the usb is ok. :s
ill try through Blue ttooth to syncro the Uspl, and then try to change the rom through sdflash.. i'll pray to God to this work..
