Anyone know of a good program for monitoring connections and throughput on Bluetooth?
most of the fancy bluetooth progs dont work with the crap bluetooth stack made by ms that is on the xda2
Yup, I noticed that. The problem is that "Bluetooth" doesn't appear under the connection section.
when i go into settings and connections on my xda2
i have a bluetooth icon but all that does is the same thing as
clicking on the bluetooth icon on my today screen does
== let me disable and enable bt and bond with devices
Sorry, I mean for the connection monitoring applications

hi, for GPS purposes, i need to switch the display off while leaving the device on working, but apparantly the MS BT stack on my xda mini doesnt allow this... it always switches the screen back on. Using a blusoleil stack, this problem is fixed. but the bluesoleil stack isnt as stable and handy as the builtin MS stack.
is there a way to disable that "keep screen alive" of the MS BT stack in the registry or something?
or is there an upgrade or fix to this?
thanks in advance,
mic
EDIT: okay i found it myself, sorry for bugging. it actually is possible, if anyone else wonders how, this is what you have to change:
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SerialPort and set OBWakeUpByInData to 0 for Outbound Connection (like Bluetooth GPS) and IBWakeUpByData for incoming connections (whatever else)
Hi!
I use BTHTools with my Himalaya for automatic switching of BT on/off.
It turns the BT ON if necessary (ex. incoming/outgoing calls), and turns it OFF when done. Good for saving battery.
Works also for other BT use, such as BT GPS, BT via Activesync, BT file transfers, etc., turns BT ON, keep it connected and automatically turns OFF for about one minute after connectivity is lost/ended.
However, it does NOT work with my Hermes.
Is there a similar application for Hermes? Moreover, it would be great if it would also automatically control NOT ONLY bluetooth but WIFI, GPRS and other connections as well. Similar to comm manager but automatic/timed.
Thanks.
Been looking around for a resolution to my issue and still can't seem to find any.
Here's the deal, I have a Motorola H710 BT mono headset. I just recently upgraded my rom to the latest "Official" 3.56. and prior to the upgrade I was using bad sector's IDtransfer app with the audiogateway app to be able to listen to the incoming ringtones through the headset and I would use the audiogateway app to be able to listen to music through the headset as needed, then shut if off when I didn't.
The problem arose after the update and when trying to install these same two apps. I would get into a rolling reboot after the soft reset and had to hard reset to fix it.
I'm currently using Destination Gotlands BT app and although it seems to let me hear my ringtones and music through I guess an "always on" audio gateway, it comes at the expense of not having voice speed dial as by pressing down on the earpiece buttin is what turns on the app and opens the gateway, where as before it was what turned on voice speed dial.
Another issue is that when I put the phone in "sleep" mode by pushing the power button, the gateway seems to close and the music no longer is heard through the BT headset. It also does this when i'm not even using the BT headset but the phone's speakers. Is this normal? It seems to cut in and out sometimes. I'm pretty sure that it use to play music with the screen turned off prior to the update. Is there a registry tweak or something that will allow this?
So in brief, what i'm looking for is an app/reg tweak that will allow me to
1. Hear my incoming call ringtones through my BT headset automatically.
2. Still use voice speed dial.
3. Listen to music through my BT headset when I want to and be able to shut it off.
4. Not close the audio gateway with my bt headset when I turn off the screen on my phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And again, this is for WM6.1.
Thanks!
bump. Anyone?
Opposite Problem
I just reflashed my phone the other day.
As I was going and reconfiguring everything I noticed that my bluetooth connection was active even when I put my phone to sleep.
I remember changing some settings last time I configured my phone to turn off bluetooth and not allow data connections when the phone was asleep to conserve battery.
I thought I used an application like "AdvancedConfig" or "KaiserTweak" to change the WM6 settings but I am not seeing those settings in those applications this second time around.
I'm running Dutty's Dual Touch for the Kaiser. I'm sure there are settings to set on the WM6 OS registry that can turn on or off the bluetooth sleep functions.
Do any of you know an application that can change the bluetooth / data connections hack or the registry changes that need to be made to accomplish this?
I think I may have found it.
Go to Settings -> Phone -> "Data" Tab. See if you're "Disable data Connections" setting is checked and try unchecking it.
This may affect bluethooth. I have my macbook connected to my phone showing signal strength and batter. When I unchecked that box and put my phone to sleep the connection was lost.
Let me know if that fixed it.

Click to collapse
Don't have that "data" option/tab in my phone settings. Only "Services" and "More". And under services there is no data option either.
Hey guys, I could need your help.
I need to find a way to start a program / file (mortscript file) when Bluetooth Handsfree is connected /disconnected (more clear: connecting / disconnecting)
SPB Phone Suite can change profiles automaticly on this event, but Phone Suite cannot run a program when changing a profile ... what a pitty.
It would be very usefull for me because when Handsfree is connected I sit in my car and then I want to start Media Player, TomTom and so on.
Anyone could suggest me ANY solution to start a program upon Bluetooth Handsfree connecting?
I would be glad for every idea ;-)
Maybe search the registry keys of SPB Phone suite to see if you can find one that shows the status of a changed profile (the little yellow asterisk on the profile icon) and then monitor it with mortscript.
A2DPToggle by Teksoft is a nice free today plugin that lets you easily connect/disconnect headset. It also supports execution of desired app after connecting
True, but it cannot autoconnect when bluetooth device in range and detected
Sadly, i cannot get my Philips SHB7100 to autoconnect anyway
Does anyone know a bluetooth plugin that takes only one row on today screen and can pair with bluetooth headset?
The wirless manager today plugin takes a lot of space. Or anyone know how to get rid of operator name on this plugin to make it taking only one row?
I found some wireless manager plugin on xda-dev but they only turn on off bluetooth. I usually pair my pda with bluetooth headset
PocketToolman seemed to fit to me (one row tray and an icon to access commanager) but I couldn't access wireless manager with that icon although everything else worked ok. Poor me
I've just found that Home Screen ++ systray works much better than I hoped. A2DP feature can connect my phone directly to bluetooth headset
