Hi
I have several of the following large files in the windows folder on my XDA2:
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol (x7, around 3mb each!)
MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol (x7)
target.img.zip
Do I need these? What are they? They eat up a lot of memory! Does anyone have good tips for keeping memeory free?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?mode=results
here is a search which result in the few posts about what those files are
Thanks. I went to the search screen & put in the names of the files and other search topics such as 'large files' but kept getting back ~1,300 answers, most of which didn't seem relevent.
Am I missing something?
PS I think this is a great site & I can usually use search engines, just don't seem to be getting the results here.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
odd my link was suppose to do the search and comming up with only 4 results

here are the 3 relevant posts about the subject
Thanks for that, I think I need to put more time into my searching.
So, from what I understand, these files may or may not be in ROM but are probably not taking up the space they say they are taking up anyway.
Good enough for me, Thanks!
Any idea about what the hell is target.img.zip and if it can be delated?
thx!

I've read in somewhere in this forum that when you perform a softreset after a hardreset, you can get 40mb of program memory. Is this possible? I've tried performing a hardreset then softreset before installation of the cab files but my program memory stays at 25mb. I've already deleted my extension rom cab files but I can never get pass the 25mb of program memory.
Could someone please, please, please point me to the instructions in this forum on how I can have achieve a program memory that's greater than 25mb? I've really tried searching but I don't know if I'm just really bad at it or I'm just using the wrong keywords but I couldn't find anything that would answer my question. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need a lot of program memory since every time I use Opera Browser and there are a lot of tabs open, my dopod818pro hangs. I think I'm actually regretting trading my Xda mini for the prophet.
Dont worry. Ill get you 2 applicatoins to add and youll have more storage... around 50MB not even 40! And youll get around 40% speed increase on ur phone compared to its original speed without any confusion. Email me at shivam (at) shivam (dot) info and ill get back to you.
Dont have too much time on the forum to post replies here. sorry.
Regards
Actually, he is talking about program memory, not storage memory.
Still, it would be nice to hear your solution. Why don't you post it here, instead of requesting for a private email? I am sure a lot of people would be very interested and grateful.
i, too, would certainly be interested in this "solution".
please post more info
I think they talk about unlocking the ext.rom and to delete all files in it !
Nice idea, but unfortunately, you cannot store Photos or Outlookdata on your Storagecard afterwards...Ideas?
I have a T Mobile MDA Vario and have been using it now for about 6 months.
When I am typing a text or email, the suggested words that come up include misspelt words etc.
How can you delete User Defined words. I have looked everywhere. The Manual seems to say that you can do something like this through phonepad. I have tried this but failed.
If I type the word Don the word that it suggests is Donaster and should be Doncaster.
I Hope this makes sense, I was considering formatting the MDA, but was scared incase I cant get all my info back.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Sarah
1. welcome to XDA-Dev
2. the words are stored in Windows\dyncompdict.dat. You can safely delete / edit them. If you choose the latter, therere several tools to do it.
I've published several articles on this question; please make a forum / blog search for dyncompdict.dat
Than you so much for the quick reply.
This website looks excellent.
I will do that search now, and see if I can get the problem sorted.
Will get back to you.
Cheers
Sarah
All sorted now, will download the MikkoPPC program when I get home and have a look at that.
Many Thanks for your help.
Sarah
I have downloaded the Mikko program and saved a new dyncompdict.dat file.
When I email, it still comes up with mis-spelt words.
I have tried a soft reboot and am still getting the words.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Sarah
Is there any place that tells me what all the different . CAB files do? I am very new to all this and will have a my Wing here tmrw and would like to customize it some. I have read through the noob guide and all that and feel I can do a ROM upgrade by following the instructions, but I just dont know what all the different .CAB files do.
Where are you getting them? If you're getting them from here there's usually a description in the thread they're posted in.
I just read the whole post "JUST .cab FILES FOR THE HTC TMO WING. ALL IN ONE PLACE" and it answered a few of them but it would be helpful to have a description by each one.
Gotcha, yeah, that's thread's a bit of a mess. I don't think a new thread about it is going to get much more response than all the replies about the same problem in the original thread though...... but yeah, it would be nice.
maybe as i get more familier with my phone and modding it i can whipe together a .cad dictionary or somethihng
Yeah. It would also be nice to have at least a screen shot of the app with each post... but I understand why people don't do it. They're already going out of their way and it takes time.
I dont understand what you're getting confuse with.... post the names of some of the cabs that confuse you and I or someone else will answer what they are.

I don't remember what btasp.cab is.
Paticakeman, here's one thing that helps half the time: If you open the CAB file with WinRAR you'll find a xml file named _setup.xml. This contains the installer's title of the package. Sometimes it'll have the developer's URL or at least a full app name you can search will and get better results. Of course you still need to D/L the CABs first.
btasp.cab: (this doesn't say much to me) and yes, I've searched a lot for this and the makers' site is now gone.
Description inside the cab: "TrianglePowers.com BlueTooth Audio"
And this is what all the D/L sites list as the description: "Desire to listen to your harmony stored on your Small PC but don't desire to carry around a corded headset. If you've got a BlueTooth headset then you're in good fortune."
So I still have NO idea...
Another would be the HTC Audio Manager I see in many threads, what is this? Is it an EQ? A hardware manager for the sound system? Or is it perhaps a playlist editor? I have searched for info about this and I must be using the wrong terms because I come up empty.
Hi Folks,
hope you've a hint or idea for me on the above.
After getting more and more familiar with my SE X1 I feel in general quit ecomfortable with the MediaPanel as standrd ttol for my multimedia data. But what makes me really worrying is the obviousl missing ability to structure the videos and photos on my device, to have a better overview within the MediaPanel. Especially annoying is teh fact that for example in "photos" all found Images on my device are shown. Having Mobile Navigator installed, you can imagine that I'm seing now several hundereds of images from that applicaiton and it is quite hard to find the "real ones".
In "audio" I have at list the structure by artist, album, genre, etc. but even having photos in individual folders, doesn't help in the MediaPanel.
Any idea, advice or tweak for the MediaPanel, you're aware of, that would help me on this?
Many thanks in advance
Eric
I have the same problem, in the photo's menu i see all icons and other images that i don't want to see.
Missing Folder Structure in MediaPanel
Trying to heave this question up a bit
Nobody else than sanderdw and I are having a problem with th emissing folder structure, or nobody has an idea on how to get it in?
Thanks in advance
Eric
Better yet, everyone has this "problem" and there's currently no available fix.

I found a very small and tidy .cab on here about a week ago that simply changed the filing order from Last, First, to First, Last. Now I've gone through 40 pages and CAN NOT find it to save my life. I found two other threads, one asking how to, the other with a MANUAL fix for this issue, but I simply can't seem to find this little .cab that does it for me perfectly.
If anyone stumbles upon it pretty pretty please lemmie know where it went!
THANKS!!!!!
Microsoft MyPhone backed up the .cab and I didn't even think about that! Haha.
For others with the same issue, search "Contact_Changer" OR I'll send the .cab if someone wants to host it for others to download!
Thanks XDA!
(Sorry about taking up thread space, MODS feel free to delete this thread.)
do you think u can just load it up on here just add as an attachment to a reply then we can all download it. i would like this cab ... i used the search for contact_changer and this post keeps showing up and not others.
Contact changer: http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=contact
This worked for me =)
I just saved my contacts as a csv, opened it up and swapped the columns.
only prob is that i have commas after the first names. no biggie to me
