desperate help needed xda2 backpack - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

grrrrrr, maybe it just isn't compatible but i have a cf gps card that doesn't seem to be accepted by my backpack.
the power indicator on the card lights up for a second when i insert it but does not stay on.
since i had the back pack all i have done is loaded the screen mirror software. i have not tried any other cf cards.
is there any config stuff i should be doing so that the backpack can read cf cards ?
cheers, shire

Probably no real need for you to post the same question in two categories?
I have the back pack and use it with CF memory cards and a CF Dell WiFi card. I had to install the WiFi card driver (which came with the CF WiFi card) other wise the CF WiFi card is not recognized.
Ed

aye sorry about the double post. admins feel free to remove post. For info I have managed to get the sysonchip GPS CF card to work with my xda 2.
Using an ap called gps monitor CE from www.gpspassion.com using ports 7 or 0.
Cheers, Shire

(HELP) Tried to upgrade to WM2003

I downloaded the upgrade from Siemens web site and ran the program.
my phone is now stuck in the upgrade window and will not reboot.
Any Sugestions?
RE:
Phone will not reconect to activesync either.
RE:
Tried a hard reset and soft reset no results.
I think I'm Screwd
You need to get an sd memory card and card reader/writer, using the tools available here on the site you will need to write a rom to the sd card through sd card reader on your pc, then you go to bootloader mode and the sd card will burn the rom to your xda.
Thanks for the advise. I have a 1Gb sd card so I will get a reader.
I'm kind curious about Bootloader? Can Anyone enlighten me or point me to posts that have the info I'll need.
My computer is running windows is this ok?
All advise is much appreciated
Thanks For all the help. I fixed the Problem with the Bootloader. Finished the upgrade to A.30.09.
I just wanted to say that it is AWESOME to have a sight like this when the manufacturer doesn't have a clue how to answer many of these Q's.
THANK YOU QMAN (i got the info off one of your posts) AND ALL WHO PASS ON KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!1

SD Card Read Problem

Thanks to a power failure (quite often occurence here) I am left with an XDA that did not complete a ROM update and it is stuck in limbo.
Ive created the nb1 on SD card as prescribed many times over on this forum using xdarit. my xda does just not seem to detect it. Maybe it needs to be in before i switch it on or ..?
My wallaby bootloader is 5.15.
Advice is appreciated. I'd just finished fixing a GSM Error problem which basically crippled the XDA performance wise (dust collector) and then this happened !
Damn :\
Incidently I run the diagnostics for the SD Card Test and it just sits there saying start test... again not too sure what to do there.
Thanks again
Michael

how you sd upgrade your xda
Thanks for your reply Rudegar
The post link u sent me was actually one of the many ''how-to's''i went through and still no luck.
I re-tried this one just in case im a cluster but no, didn't work.
When i turn the xda on and into the bootloader (soft reset and power buttons) i donot get the SD DOWNLOAD screen. it just waits for me to press whatever to get into GSM check, diagnostics or whatever.
Incidently my sd card is a sandisk 256. the card works fine with my qtek 7070 and nike mp3 player (for file storage).
I use xdarit 1 as everytime i try 1.2 i get errors.
Thanks again for your reply. Any otehr advice anyone?
Thanks
Michael
can your sdreader for your pc read the card ?
if it can then you dident flash the rom right to the sdcard
you have to use xdatools you cant just copy the nbf file to it
if it can be read by an sdreader and i think a 7070 then it's
not a card you can use to update your device
Wires Crossed :\
Sorry _ What I was trying to say (not very well) is that teh sd cards work fine when used as storage in my 7070 and mp3 player. never used an sd card in the xda before so i cant comment on that.
i use xdarit for the sd card creation and no the pc card reader cant see wots on the sd card when ive done that. ive never had any success with xdatools to be honest :/
Thanks again
Michael
sorry dident see you used xdarit
never tried it as it were replaced with OSImageTOOL in xdatools
which i never had any issues with
i made the scard this time with osimagetool and still no cigar
damn this is bad

256 MB SD card problem
MAB,
I had similar problem with my XDA and I have 64 MMC which worked to get the 5.17 bootloader patch loaded but would not work with the nbf1 file. I borrowed 64 MB SD Panasonic card and I could loaded but my problem was eventually solved by taking it to the Melbourne based ACCS tel 03 9348 5555 for only $45.
If you wish to persist on your on I think some people here reported problems with 256MB cards so you may need to organise one of the 64MB cards.
Good luck
Thanks for that. One thing I haven't tried yet is getting hold of another SD Card. I had read there were problems with the 256 ones on this forum so I will get onto that and give it a rip.
Failing that what's ACCS stand for then?
Thanks All

WIFI Help Needed (Spectec SDW-821)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Folks,
I have just bought the Spectec SDW-821 for my iMATE Jam - but for the life of me I cannot get it to work.
The current drivers from the Spectec website have been downloaded and the CAB File copied to the storage card and executed from there.
Under: - Setttings>Network Cards - I can see that the 'WLAN-11g Adapter' is there.
I then did a soft reset & installed the card - but it is not even being recognised as being plugged in.
Under: - Settings>About - it is showing the expansion slot as not being in use.
What am I missing here?
Thanks for all your help.

It is strange. I have the same card and everything works perfect. Are you sure that your card is 821 and not 820/822?

Try this driver (wm2003se anyway). It is the previous IPN2128.dll
http://www.planex.co.jp/support/driver/bwave/gw-sd11p/gw-sd11p_d124u105.exe
Works very wel with my PDA (acer n30 and Wm2003se)
All the other drivers (v1.25 and up) were crap.
ps: also added the E400 version of the installation. Differense are 2 registry keys
in HKLM\Comm\IPN21281\Parms
BlockSize=0x00000032
MaxBlockCount=0x00000000
Hope it helps.
did u manage to get ur card to work?

Yes, 1.73 is the one that I use without any issue. Unlike 1.75, it will not stop recognising the USB disk midway through the transfer.
thanks for the link
UPDATE: i just tried the program and it works great but when i get done using it and deactivate it I can no longer see my mini-sd card. anyone know a fix for that

I'm afraid that I seem to recall that v1.73 fried an SD card of mine - I deactivated without first stopping the drive on the PC. When I reformatted the SD card in a card reader, it was only 1Gb (previously 2GB). Was never quite sure the first time if it was WM5torage or a duff card.
Then it happened a second time with a different card. The card wasn't even a cheap import - it was a corsair. If I remember rightly, there is a Linux tool to repartition the card and I seem to recall Corsair were going to create one too(check their forums). [Have just checked the xda-dev archive and my origianl post was here http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-305615.html
All I can say is, I hope it isn't that. Can you see the SD card in a card reader? Can you see it in Start\System\Memory?
i did a soft reset and it came back

PSIDOC_SDHC.CAB... 16GB SDHC (Tested) install .cab file for ALL UNIVERSAL WM5 Roms

Following on from bennyyen's excellent work in getting 8GB SDHC cards working on WM5 without breaking anything else, including the WIFI, which was the biggest problem.
I have made an install .cab file for those that want to keep with their existing WM5 rom but want full Sdhc support. We now have reports of 16GB SDHC cards being fully functional as well.
I have noticed that my AData card does go to sleep and not wake up, so has to be reinserted every now and again but I think that is just the card as it did this with WM6 (It was cheap).
Please if you try this .cab can you report back your experiences on weather it's working 100%, not working for you (please include rom details) or you have to re-insert the card from time to time. Also please add your SDHC Card details so we can see which works and which has problems.
Thanks.
Psi
PS: Please remember this is Bennyyen's work so huge thanks to him. I just packaged it for general use.
I have tested this cab with KDSkamal's fw and a generic 16GB SDHC.
Opening this in system--> memory the qtek sees all of my 16GB.
I have tried copying 4GB (all that I have free ftm) of files forth and back. Works like a charm!
Have also tried a bit of surfing over WPA, works just as well. Have not tried GPRS, but everything else looks fine so far.
Thank you PsiDOC for your work on this! (I know you might not think this is much, but it is to me)
It works! Yaay!
Many thanks for the feedback Verbato. Really nice to see that a 16GB card is working well
Please remember this is bennyyen's work. I just made the .cab file, so it is him who deserves the thanks also.

Well done! I'm more than happy with the standard WM5 ROM on my JasJar. All I (and many others) wanted was SDHC support. This is exactly what I was looking for.
I have no SDHC cards yet , but I will report back as soon as I get one.
Can you tell me if this cab can be uninstalled ("removed") in case it doesn't work?
Thanks again! And Great work!
PS: I've come across this SD_Setting cab, suggested here - "http://jay-joshi.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!851D717EDFF14CEC!3194.entry" . What do you think ?
Yes it can be removed, however you'll not want to as it works.

PsiDOC, Bennyyen - thanks a milllion guys!!!! Tested this on PsiDOC WM5 Matrix ROM with Mymemory SDHC 8GB card - works very well. Waking up from sleep without any problems. Also tested a few of SD cards - they work OK but don't wake up from the sleep. I don't really care about SD with SDHC working just added this for completness.
PsiDOC,
I've tried to re-cook your Matrix ROM with 3 dlls SD*.dll from Bennyyen's ROM - by some reason my SDHC was not recognised with this. It does only when I install your package. Have you by any chance tried to add them into your ROM directly?
Yes I have added them but I cannot test as my USB cable seems to be damaged so I can't get the Exec to talk to the PC. I never release untested roms, hence it's still here on my PC.
Oh by the way it's only the 2 files that are needed. SDBus.dll and SDMemory.dll. Use the original SDHC.dll from my rom and it'll work if you cook the others in.
Interesting that you have SD Cards not waking up. My Kingston 1GB and SanDisk 2GB are 100% fine. Which SD Cards are you using?

Thanks - will try this evening. May be the way I'm adding them is wrong - the SDBus.dll from the Bennyyen's ROM was not in a directory (I use the HyperCore kitchen) so I placed it in the missing files folder. Will try to create a separate package tonight.

Same brand as my SDHC :-( - MyMemory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk ) 4GB SD card. Worked absolutely fine with O2 original ROM. My guess would be that it is probably due to the weirdness of the card - 4GB SD was not ever part of the SD standard.
Thanks for the help

It is not waking up in a sense that none of the folders on a card is accessible and none of the files is writeable until I re-insert the card.
My SDHC does not always wake up

I was premature to report my success with MyMemory SDHC 8GB card - http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/MyMemory/4GB/SDHC/Card/-/Class/4
Unlike the SD card, if the Universal turned off and on (with power button) it does work and wakes up correctly. But if left off for a while (> 15 mins) it does not wake up again with the same symptoms as usual (folders and files are not accessible) and the card has to be re-inserted. This is a major annoyance since on earlier WM5 ROMs the SD at least was working ok and waking up fine. Can somebody report what's happening with their brands of SDHC cards if left to sleep for a while?

Hello PsiDoc and ALL!
I have been looking for a SDHC driver to get my 8gb SanDisk Ultra II (Class 4) working. My phone is the Treo 700 WX with Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 OS 5.1.195 (Build 14932.2.2.2).
I tried the PsiDOC.cab, but with no luck. I basically hard reset the whole phone. From that point it reads my SanDisk 2.0GB (non-SDHC) card fine, so I install the PsiDOC.cab, it reboots, then I can not see any cards. I have the 2 cards I mentioned above plus a PNY 2GB Optima Pro SD (133x), and a SanDisk 4GB Extreme III SDHC (Class 6). All of them are not recognized with PsiDoc.cab.
I do have an SDHC driver I got from somewhere that let's me see the first 4 gigs of either the Class 4 or Class 6 cards I have; but of course I would love to see it all! This SDHC.cab driver has a contains of :
Volume in drive D is MBH-CARD-1

Thanks,

Thank you MHildebrand. Sorry it doesn't work.
I thought this may be XDA Exec specific as the files are unlike any I have seen. You've confirmed my suspicions.

well done ,PsiDOC ,this patch is very usefull

For all those whoose cards worked with this patch without any wireless problems - guys please report the ROMs, brands of the cards and the sizes.
My card does not wake up properly so here's my report:
O2 XDA Exec with PsiDOC Matrix ROM,
MyMemory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk) SDHC 8GB card
Does not wake up from sleep - directories and files are not accessible.
I'm looking for a card brand that will work with this patch on my ROM

I've tested a few configurations and it appears that whether this works really depends on a ROM. I've tried this CAB with official O2 ROM and now both my cards are fine and working properly - both waking from sleep. It seems that all this has to do with the work of the SDHC.dll (secure digital host controller) since this what was different in O2 ROM.
Unfortunately, when added to PsiDOC Matrix ROM from O2 this dll breaks a lot of different things so it can't be used as is. I guess I'm stuck with the O2 ROM for now until the situation improves.
After those experiments it appears to me that SDHC implementation is hardware dependent in that sense that there might be slight differences in HTC Universal hardwares - for some reason the SDHC in the newer systems like T-Mob 3.3 ROM do not work as stable on my O2 Uni even with SD cards.
every body can test this rom:
http://218.93.115.138/d900/wm5
this verison based on official aku3.3 ROM, no standy waken up problem , no wifi broken problem, support 16G SDHC card........
or ,u can dump this ROM ,find and copy the files "sdhc.dll" "sdbus.dll" "sdmemory.dll" ,then rebuild in PsiDOC Matrix ROM.
enjoy
