SMS writer

I read through in one of the threads regarding Designlab's SMS Writer being taken out of pocket gear. Anyone here knows where I can download the said program? Or is there an alternative program.
Primarily I need to be able to send a text message with one hand.

I am thinking about to write a one-hand SIP modul. (An input plugin to write like mobile phones in any application) I like to made t in the same size as the "letter recognizer" or "keyboard" modul. But the space is enough only 3 or 4 buttons if we want to type with fingers...
What about to place 4 buttons. One for changing the others from 1-2-3 -> 4-5-6 -> 7-8-9?
Think it: same as wieving only one row at a time of keys on your mobile phone.
It is useable? Maybe not :?

pare, that program is buggy.

yeah they say that designlab's program is very buggy.
but do you know of any program that run's better than designlab's sms writer?

Default Zoom level in Excel

Has anyone found a way to make Excel always open with a default zoom setting of 75%?
I found this hack but I think it’s for an older version of PocketPC
go to HKCU\software\microsoft\excel\pocket x.x\Main and then make the DWORD entry named "ZoomSetting" and then set the value to 2.
With WM5 the \Main section does not exist. I tried creating one but it did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That would work great for creating new Excel files. I am looking for something that always makes Excel go to a 75% zoom level when you open old or new documents.

Sorry dont think that is possible - searched high and low for a fix - so did my own. Works well for new documents.

I get alot of excel files in email attachments and they always open up with a huge font. I have to change the zoom level to 75 to make the normal. Thats why your fix would not work for me.
There has to be some way to do it.

Here's a link to a method of getting 75% zoom, scroll down page a bit to see it. Not perhaps the quickest way as it involves creating the template on PC and transferring to device, but still if it works!! Also includes downloadable help files for pocket excel and basic guide to using it.

Yeah i noticed this file when making the OEM...

if rename the text.tw to text.en some word appear in english on the programm

I think you'll still need to translate the file above... I'll fire up the emulator and see.

There's a file called "languages.txt" whic judging by the contents will list what the extensions to the files (as in text.TW") are.

Easier to traslate
I think its ease to traslate we just need to traslate all the images to the RESOURCES folder and also the file for the language (alreday traslated)

Wanted, time calculator for pocket pc help!

I want a simple calculator for my leo that i can use to ad up times (as in mins and hours) to give a total. You would think this would be easy to find but sadly i havent been able to find one and was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend something that would work.

learn yourself some c# and code it yourself? I know that sounds mean but I don't have any other answer - but thats how I got an MPG and cost/mile calculator that suited all my needs.

I dont have time at the moment to get into C# sadly. It is on my list of things to do but not going to be anytime soon.
I guess i could use excel, but i have been struggling to get my brain working on the easiest way to add the hours/mins up and get a decent answer.
I had tried sum(cellrange) but didnt get an hh:mm answer, i ended up with decimal mins!

Search for TimeCalc, an old (free) app, but functional.

In Excel you have to enter the time in the format hh:mm then sum the cells and multiply the answer by 24 (Excel converts the hh:mm to a fraction of 24h). the answer should then be in the format hh:mm.

Thanks for the link, i dont suppose you have seen a cab anywhere? I use linux so .exe activesync installs are a no go.

The .exe in the zip is not a setup program, it's the app itself. So no need for a cab. Just copy the file anywhere on your phone and create a shortcut to it in the start menu and you are set.

Sounds good to me! For now timecalc should see me through it just looks a bit "old school". I guess the real challenge would be to get a nice sense style timecalc.
