help needed - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

ok i got my phone on o2 after loosing it i reported it lost they blocked my ime number and sent me a new sim card, then i had the phone returned to me and o2 said ime number had been unblocked. when i inserted new sim i got no signal on o2 sim card so i tried someone elses o2 card same problem no signal but it works in other phone. also if i put other network sim cards in xda2 they work do any of you out there know why my o2 cards will not work in xda2?

Are you SURE O2 un-blocked the correct IMEI?
Sounds to me like the IMEI is still blocked - No O2 SIMs work in this phone but do work in other phones; other carrier SIMs work in this phone.
Really sounds blocked.

Sim card on M5000

I just got my new M5000 yesterday, bought off Ebay.
It was sold as unlocked - but the phone refuses to accept my sim card for some reason - tells me invalid or missing sim. And yes, my sim works fine on another telefone. I have tried another sim from a friend in my M5000, and that works fine. Does anybody know if the M5000 has some limitation as to what sim cards it accepts?
Thanks, Paul

If you have Sim card very old - I always happens - change it for free at your operator for 3G ( UMTS) services.

International Networking Help needed

Travelled from UK to USA and using my HTC TyTN II changed UK O2 SIM card for an AT&T SIM card. Used loads of KOA Kamp sites wireless and once AT&T 3G SMS and voice services in USA and all worked fine.
Returned to UK removed AT&T SIM card inserted UK O2 SIM card and of course sods law my O2 SIM card will not register or connect to UK O2 Network.
HTC TyTN II dialogue box displays a message "Smart chip not provisioned MM 2" and that a data connection, that I cannot find, needs changing.
I Phoned the UK O2 customer services and very helpful a call centre operator says your phone needs replacing (like hell it does)
I suspect that registering the AT&T SIM card a registry setting is changed and that it is an altered that is causing the UK O2 network connection failure.
Is it possible that someone will tell me what has occurred and/or a solution?
PS Enjoyed the two white knuckle car rides Highway One South Big Sur to LA and Westport CA to Bodega Bay!
if it's a reg then a hardreset should set it straight
When a SIM Card not working "Think Simple"
Thank you
17 July 2007 called HTC technical support staff Edyta, reference 080717 UK 08315084 replaced O2 SIM card that will not connect to Network.
Retest using T-Mobile SIM TyTN II works just fine. Insert an O2 XDA other O2 SIM Card and TyTN II works just fine. Contacting O2 for a replacement SIM. O2 sending replacement SIM card with failed SIM card existing mobile number and carried forward credit.
Moral here is think simple

Country-locked phone?

Hi there.
I have a friend who has an X1. He is reporting that the X1 is working with his O2 sim card and working on Vodafone however it isnt working with his Latvian sim card (in the UK) (i.e. Tele2 and LMT). Are there any settings you need to change in order to enable roaming? Is it possible for a phone to be country-locked?
Thanks,
Lawrence
It might be the phone is locked..then again it might not be.
What does he see when he puts in the card? How long do you wait while it searches for a signal? (Sometimes when I'm roaming it takes a few moments -in egypt I think I waited 2 minutes - it might take longer for Latvia to register for one or other reason).
thanks for your quick reply!
I dont think it is locked because it works on both O2 and Vodafone fine. I bought the phone from vodafone and all of their phones come unlocked.
its more likely that the phone isnt using the correct setting for the service provider... usually when the phone detect a new sim it will ask you if you want to change your settings... your friend may have missed it and didnt change the setting so it didnt work
Roaming is enabled by the origin network, not by the phone.
There is a chance that some of the UK networks don't allow those SIMs to roam on their network, but you would need all 4 for them not to work.
another reason could be too old incompatible sim card
people have from time to time reported rather old sim cards being
incompatible and solved it by getting newer sim card from their operator

Hardware or software problem? no service

hi!
i recently bought an omnia 7 on ebay, t-mobile locked.
due to i have a vodafon contract, i unlocked it online, with imei unlock.
now the phone accepts my sim card, but i keep getting "no service".
today i bought a t-mobile sim card, just to try, and it is the same.
when i am changing sim cards, the network profile app changes the settings.
i flashed another rom, found here (jj6 uk), i updated to 7720, nothing helps.
i guess it isnt the sim card reader, cause the network profile app recognises any sim card.
is there an antenna problem or just some software thing?
can i fix the antenna by myself, if it is broken or sthing?...
i fall in love with this phone, i dont want to get rid of it...
any suggestions appreciated.

[Q] Calls Work with one SIM and not the other

Having a problem with a Telstra HD2 model.
With a Telstra SIM in the phone, I can make and receive calls. When I insert a Vodafone SIM into it, I cannot make or receive calls. Call hangs up straight away.
Device is not network locked as HTC phones are not locked with Telstra. Bars display in task bar.
Tried it with Windows 6.5 (factory default) and Android custom ROM. Currently on custom ROM.
Any thoughts?
I had a similiar problem a few years ago and all i had to do was get a new sim card. I was told i had damaged my sim card some how but i was able to save the contacts, transfer them over to the new sim T-mobile gave me and I have not had another problem since.
If you have access to another phone try and insert both sim cards you have in the other phone. If you have problems in the other phone with the sim card thats not working you can safely say its the sim card thats not working correctly and not a phone issue.
Thanks for the reply Craze.
My SIM's do work as I use my Telstra SIM (that works in the HD2) in my old Nokia and my Vodafone on my Galaxy Nexus Prime.
So on the HD2, my Telstra SIM works where I'm able to receive and make calls and my Vodafone is the opposite.
Could it be the phone? I'm hoping that it is so that I can fix it.
Could it be the network providers? If so, then I'll call them which I've already done but they couldn't give me an answer as to why my Voda SIM does that in the HD2.
