I want to get a bluetooth headset for my XDA2. Was originally gearing towards the sony-ericsson models but heard there were some bonding problems. So anyone help with some advice on what is the best BT combination

The current version 1.60 of the ROM includes already a virtual serial port but unfortunately it is a dynamic port, which is not visible to many applications. Also the ActiveSync support is difficult and complicated to use and if you want to synchronize with different computers you have always to couple the device again.
For future releases I plan the following improvements:
Support for Bluetooth headsets
Support for Bluetooth network access points
Send contacts and files through Bluetooth

i am looking also for handsfree bluetooth support if any help on that
Yeah, headset works fine, it's the handsfree profile we need, that's the one adding enhanced features....
Do you know why some headsets work better than others? I understand that the profile does not work and therefore you can not use the functions on the headsets, but I'm curious if your recent fix will help headsets such as the Jabra BT250 communicate better with the device. The HBH-65 has no issues, but Jabra does note, often very slow to connect. I like the Jabra because I can hear better-age you know.

Maybe because of the headsets itself ? I bought a HBH-35 and can do [/quote]anything with it, walk out of range and back, turn it off and on, reset the MDA, chanrge the headset etc etc. without having to re-pair...

What headset-functions do you mean ? Caller ID ? Voicedial etc. ?
That's not in the headsetprofile, that's in the handsfree profile. the headsets with enhanced functions use the handsfreeprofile also, nut just the headsetprofile...
downloaded and installed 1.0.1.2 fantastic my new bt gps works! However I can not use my gps and hbh-65 headset at the same time, any ideas please
Simply stated I was wondering if the new blutooth fix might help the Jabra BT250 work better. I know other headsets work without issue, but Jabra seems to have some problems, and I doubt that this is a Jabra problem, I believe it is a BT Device profile issue.
Can I have another link to the software cause the link is blocked from my ISP, or can any body upload it here or any other palce...
Best regards,,,
I have a new HBH-200, it works ok to answer a call but all the other features are not working, such as caller number etc.
Like i said; It's not i the headsetprofile. The headsetprofile doesn't do much except making a wireless headset possible. Answer, dosconnect and talk and listen, that's all...
Everyting else is in the handsfreeprofile (handsfree is used for advanced options for headsets and carkits)...
Link down????? :?:
not for me
Handfree Profile
I have 2 phones, XDA II and a Nokia 8910i.
My bluetooth Headset is the Ericsson HBH65.
To my surprise, I have paired the HBH65 with both phones and I am able to receive calls from both phones (not at the same time of course) without any problems. Whichever phone rings first get the use of the HBH65. In conflicts however, the Nokia seems to have priority over the XDAII, which is fine with me, but I am so happy that it actually works.
As others are mentioning, I am really missing the enhanced functions of the Handsfree Profile. Can anyone suggest any solution or perhaps work on resolving this issue as a lot of people are waiting for this. I was aware that Towas was planning to release a new version to his BT Stack Fix, has he got anywhere with that by any chance? or anyone else?
Hi chaps,
Ive got a brand new XDA2 2 weeks ago and I bought a Bluetooth GPS receiver from these guys:

Works perfectly without patching, hotwiring or standing on my head - NICE 1!
My question is, can anyone recommend an incar bluetooth handsfree kit rather than headset that works with the xda2???
And is it true that I can run 2 bluetooth devices at the same time if I patch my xda with the now world famous bluetooth patch featured on this forum?
Thanks guys...
Darren
I am running tomtom 2 with the 2.09 gps driver and also a bluetooth headset at the same time without any patch.
ahhhhhh....
so you *can* run more than one device now *without* patching hhhmmmm.... ahhhh... cool, what model is your headset? I really want a bluetooth car kit which detects the phone and takes control when i get into the car but it'll be good to know a headset that definatly works.
Thanks man
I have a sony-ericsson hbh-200 which works ok but only for answering the phone, also it needed rebonding many times. I am now using a Skypower EZ232 ez clip which works the same but re-connects after going out of range, I am as I type, linked via activesync over bluetooth to my pc, I have internet working on the xda2, my bluetooth headset is also working and I also have tomtom2 working using gpsmart gps bluetooth receiver, so more than one device is definitely ok without any patches.
top BT Carkit: Parrot CK2000 or later
I use these fix built in BT-carkit. it makes a good word with the htcII
nice one
Thanks guys.......
Darren
Nokia CK 1-W doesn't work
I've tried the Nokia CK 1-W carkit, but this carkit doesn't work properly with the MDA II. Nokia only supports the handsfree profile and the MDA II is only supporting the headset profile.
The headset profile has got less features than the handsfree profile. I know that Sony Ericsson and Parrot supports both profiles. When you want to have supported all handsfree features by your carkit you need the handsfree profile!
Does anybody knows an update to fix this problem?
i was wondering what is the best motorola bluetooth headset that is availble for the MDAII?
I have an O2 XDA Mini S (Wizard) and have just purchased a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones. I have paired the two; however, I only get the Hands Free service (which works) but NO Wireless Audio. I have seen a lot about A2DP Hacks to get these devices working correctly, but shouldn’t the BT headset offer a wireless stereo/high quality/A2DP profile when you pair them?
Is the ASDP Hack the only way to get Wireless Stereo?
Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Harold Clements
You have not provided enough information for anyone to help you.
Some Roms have A2DP working without any hack.
To be truthful, I know very little about what I am trying to do. All I know is that I can’t get the music side of the Motorola headset working.
As I said in my previous post: I have an O2 XDA Mini S (Wizard) and have just purchased a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones. The two paired but I only get the Hands Free service but NO Wireless Audio. I clicked on Motorola HT820 and then went ‘Refresh’ and up popped ‘Headset’ so I ticked that and saved. I then clicked (and held) on Motorola HT820. The options that I get are Edit – Delete – Set as Hands Free. I think I should also have ‘Set as Wireless Stereo’ but I don’t.
I have read about the ‘hacks’ (zoad2p.cab, Tornado asdp, AKU2.6) but I am a) unsure if this is a solution to my problem, and b) what a hack is and why is it needed?
I just really want to know how to fix my problem.
Thanks for your help,
Harold Clements
Would you be willing to try a cab that i made? I dont have a wizard to test on and you seem to have the perfect requirements in which i need to test. If you are willing to try this cab would you please PM me your email address???
This cab is a variation of the zoA2DP and an idle thread process (which works great on the hermes)
Also you will need A2DP to listen to wireless Bluetooth stereo... most provider roms do not have this feature, most cooked roms do..
Also, in addition to the MS BT stack, you'll want to give a try to the Widcomm BT stack. With eit has its share of problems, it delivers much superior sound quality compared to the MS BT stack and its CPU usage is less that that of the MS stack.
Thanks very much for your replies guys. The thing is I am new to this and I don’t really understand.
Correct me if I am wrong but if the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones are compatible with my mobile device (as documented) then surly it should work without much hardship?

they are definitely compaitable with your phone, as a headset for taking calls.. but not as a stereo headphones without A2DP
Hi All,
I used to have a Nokia N95 and it worked really well with my bluetooth stereo headset. Upgraded to an HTC HD2 and despite pairing the headset and setting to auto connect and pair as a stereo headset and handsfree it just simply does not work anywhere near as well as my old N95:
- Sound quality is poor
- Controls on the headset itself work erratically at best and not at all at worst
I'm running ROM v 1.43.110.2 and Manila v 2.5.19292525, I'm not sure if this has any impact. I can't update through the HTC website as my phone is on T-Mobile - but don't get me started on that.
Has anyone any thoughts on why the support for bluetooth stereo headsets is so poor on my phone. Is it my phone/software or possibly my settings?
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
