Sandisk WiFi - Networking

Hi
I have a Sandisk WiFi card that used to work, but now just continuously flashes and does not recongnise my access point.
Does this point to a faulty card, or some config problem?
Thanks!

You did well to get it to work at all!

Mini & Wifi Issue.

I have an XDA mini and a Sandisk SD WiFi card.
When I load the drivers and insert the card it works fine.
After about 20 minutes of use i disconnect and remove the card.
My issue is that when i re insert the card a couple of hours later or the next day the card will not initialize. I have to do a soft reset to get the card going again.
Anyone have any clues or ways to resolve this?????
That is true! It happened to me! But you dont need to soft reset your jam! You only have to go to the AP Browser of your card add again your access point and press apply and it will be fine! My sandisk wifi+256 works better with 1.06 than with 1.03! The good thing is that when you turn wireless off it wont turn off your bluetooth too as it used to do with version 1.03
what do you mean by AP browser?
Just click on the wifi Antenna located on the lower right of jam's screen and then click on AP Browser
The card does not initialize.....i don't get the antenna coming up. :?
i have the same problem
if i boot w/ another sd card, it doesn't recognize the wifi card
or after i switch a number of cards, same problem
works fine after soft reset tho
I have discovered the root of the problem and it seems that when i have 2 applications loaded i need to soft reset to get the wif going again. They programs are SPB Software house's GPRS monitor and weather applications. When i remove these the card works fine....as soon as they are installed again they kill my card.
I use both those programs (SPB pocket plus 2.1) and GPRS monitor and my card works fine all the time!
I use pocket plus 2.5.
I have done a hard reset and reloaded everything and the some thing occurs. I will try it again this evening and see how i go.
try 2.1! I had many problems with 2.5
the main reason for me using 2.5 as opposed to 2.1 is that it allows the integration of the gprs monitor and the weather into it tabs.
Without it the apps simply take up too much real estate on the screen.
This may be the cure to the card not initializing on a soft reset:

Kind of the same problem but with the built-in bluetooth.
I seem to be having problems with the SanDisk wifi card too.
I loaded the drivers from Sandisk, inserted the card and it appeared to work okay at first.
Later when I inserted the card all I have now is a pop up box "unable to connect to the wireless card Netcard. Is it inserted?" The card little red light does not illuminate at all.
I have done a soft reset, reloaded the drivers, and removed spb pocket plus 2.5. I still have however the spb GPRS monitor.
Short of a hard reset i am stuck.
Could the card be dead?
I have a MDA Compact with UK T-mobile ROM etc.
Thanks,
Mike.
I removed 2.5 and installed 2.1 and seems to work fine now.
Keeping in mind that i did a hard reset and reloaded all my software.
After a hard reset and no other software, still no joy
Phoned Sandisk technical support, and after half an hour of reloading drivers etc the conclusion was the card had died
So it is being returned for repair/replacement.
Interestingly Sandisk tech. said that the card would be discontinued shortly due to the number of pda's with built-in wifi. Also no drivers would be developed for WM2003 SE or any future software versions
The problem is when you use the phone application either incoming or outgoing, the wifi card drivers dont get initialized again so a soft reset is needed. The wifi drivers and phone appl drivers dont interact well with each other.
What i do is i kill the phone application using some taskmanger temporarily, insert the wifi card then you will see the led blinks on the wifi card (works most of the time) after which relaunch the phone application. So no reset needed.
I use my Sandisk WiFi everyday, and don't have the problem you describe (touchwood). I do all of the things you said, and have no problems. I use GPRS Monitor 2.3.0 too (constantly running).
I use driver v3.00.04. Have you tried a hard reset and progressive install of all your apps to see the cause? (yes, it is a pain)

Help! Sanddisk Wifi

Hi all,
i have a big problem with my Sandisk wifi and an Himalaya.
I have WM2003SE 2.06 and i got a lot of problems to connect to wifi ap.
I used both sandisk and microsoft drivers, but i got the same problem:
The ppc see the AP and try to connect, without success... i see "connecting" than back to "avaible"
Only after a lot of reset/remove insert sd card i got connected.

Try using the Socket drivers - it worked for me. I just need to find out how to get IE working properly!

8525 doesn't wake up if wifi is enabled and other issues...

Hi all...
Not sure if anyone else has come across this, but with my 8125, I got into the habit of connecting to my lan via wifi and just leaving wifi on even when I set the 8125 to sleep. Whenever I would bring it out of sleep, the wifi would just connect again. The 8525 refuses to wake up so I end up having to do a soft reset.
Other issues... I had also gotten used to leaving gprs enabled since I have an unlimited data package. Again, with the 8125, everything was great. With the 8525, not so great. When leaving gprs enabled, the connection seems to die even though it still says I'm connected. I can't browse the internet, update Pocketweather, etc. I end up having to disable gprs for a bit and then trying again.
Anyone else have these issues? If so, did you fix and how?
TIA!
*bump*
No one else is having these issues?
i had the wifi issues you describe on my 8125 (it would not wake up after connecting to wifi and going to sleep). i have not yet used the wifi on my 8525.
Do you have a media card installed?
Do you have any apps installed to this card?
If so then, using a microSD adapter, plug it into an XP machine and run defrag on the card. This solved my problems immediately.
If this doesn't help you need to look at what apps are installed on your card and uninstall if necc.

I'll try that... but would you (or anybody) care to explain why this solves the freeze problem?

Programs accessed form SDHC card hangs while connecting to internet!

I have a weired problem. I recently purchased a Toshiba 4GB SDHC (SD) card for my P3400i. When I access any application, which is installed in the SD card and requires an internet connection to function (such as Opera, Profimail etc.), it initializes the connections and then hangs the system. Only a soft-reset is the option left, after that. When I was using a 1 GB card, had never faced this issue.
Whereas, all the other applications such as games or any other, functions fine. The only problem is when an internet connection is required.
Anybody faced a similar issue? Please suggest a solution.
Has this problem been solved,...
I have a similar kind of problem with my p3400i gene. using a 2GB SD card for 6 months but for sometime now it hangs while connecting to internet or downloading someting on it.
Thanks
Aj
Try and format your new memory card i use 2gb from 6 months has no probs. Note:- use yr pc or laptop to format memory card via a card reader......regards GAURAV....
thanks gaurav for the suggestion but i have done that 2 to 3 with my laptop and there is no change , it works fine wth all the applications but when i use opera mobile or download something it hangs andwith soft reset only option

@saletije
Hi,
did you set your APN? Type "(Name of your Operator) APN" in Google and you will find it.
Then put this things in Settings, Mobile Network, Add APN.

@trane
The issue is with WiFi. Not Mobile Operators internet connection.
I am experiencing the issue as well...HD2 doesn't pickup any APs while my HTC Surround shows all of them....
Any clue, anyone?
It seems to be a little finicky about wifi sometimes.
My biggest bugbear is that it wont connect to hidden wireless networks (not broadcasting SSID's), which a lot of companies use as extra security.
Can you see them with an android build?

uhm... you should:
1. Check your IP if your modem does not support DHCP, note that WM7 does not allow you set static IP
2. Never change your SD card if you don't want to hard reset WM7, because with WM7, your SD card is a component that can not change or remove.
I am also getting this error.
I can't find any Wifi connections
It is beacause of your SD CARD! put it out and restart then you will see that it will work. Or does you SD Card work for you? under info on settings do you have nearly the amount of space you should have with your SD Card or ls than 150 mb?

Thanks a million.
That did the Trick
I had exactly the same problem.
I could see the wirless network but when connecting WP7 would say "cannot connect to this network".
I have a wireless MAC filter enabled on my router.
The HD2 with WM6.5.5 was already added to this access list.
It turns out with WP7, the MAC address for the phone is now different.
I checked my router log, added this new MAC address & WiFi is now working fine.
Another things to try for those that are struggling.

I hate this too as I hide my network. Some things at least if they can't be set up while your network is hidden, at least you can broadcast it, set it up, and the hide it again and it will still work. but with winpnone 7, that does not even work, you have to leave it broadcasting or it will not re-connect. Even my dumb Nokia 6086 will connect to a hidden network for UMA calling. Maybe Nokia will fix this issue with winphone 7.
Cant connect to wi-fi...
Tried with adata 4gb class 6 card and without the card and no luck.
The card is space is recognized by WP7.
Transcend 8GB class 4 also no luck.
It can detect a bad password but cant connect to wi-fi if correct password.
Any ideas?
Also tried to reflash with and without card.
I have the last radio .50
HSPL4 2.08
MGLRD 1.13
Edit: it did connected to open network
